Ugh, my heart just breaks for the Georgia team...This is supposed to be a glorious moment for them, but it must be hard to smile in light of what just happened mere hours beforehand.
WHAT?! No cool runnings team?! Boo that Jamaica.
I do like that Bermuda has a team though, Hee!
Yeah that is cool and 5 African nations I believe. I really liked the Canadian outfits, especially the scarves.
Ok, I want that big bear constellation blowup thing! Oooh they just showed Bode!! Edit: Wow that whale projection was really wonderful!

I love the Olympics! The Summer Games more than the Winter Games, though. But figure skating is one of my favorite sports. I like to watch a lot of the other sports during the Olympics at least, though. Freestyle skiing I like to watch in and out of the Olympics, whenever I catch it on. I feel horrible about the Georgian luge athlete dying. It's so sad. It will be really hard to watch the luge events without thinking about his death. And I can't watch the footage of the accident. I'm trying to watch the first part I missed of the Opening Ceremonies now, and I had to turn while they were talking about it. I am now concerned for the other athletes since the course is said to super fast.

They've made no secret of the fact that it's one of (if not the most) dangerous luge tracks in the world?! Hello! I'm sure even the general public won't be able to help but think about him every time we see the event, but imagine how the athletes must feel! I understand the spirit of tradition and competition, but, SEVERAL athletes have already had accidents or injuries on this track. It's almost unnerving at this point to think about watching, especially after the video was shown and replayed to a disturbing extent. It certainly is an unusual (and extremely sad) circumstance, so I guess we'll just have to see how the Committee decides to deal with it.
K.D. Lang just rocked Hallelujah.

I really do not like how the events are delayed. I did a Google search on one of the ski jumpers and found out he won the gold medal. Grr... The thing is, Vancouver is only 3 hours behind and the events didn't start until 8 or 9am...yet we still don't get any coverage until 2pm. Not cool, NBC!!

I am watching womens hockey Switzerland vs Sweden right now but the main skiing, speed skating and biathalon doesn't start here until 2-6! Just show them live NBC!!
I'm a big fan of the Proctor & Gamble commercial that they have airing right now. YouTube - To Their Moms, They'll Always Be Kids (P&G Commercial)
Aww...that is cute. ;)

Aw, that is a good commercial! Very sweet.
I don't think this hockey game is going to be very close...
I don't think this hockey game is going to be very close...
No. Although I bet it would be fun to watch if you were Canadian! Good news is there is speed skating to fill the void. :D
Apollo is ******!
Apollo is ************] I enjoy watching speed-skating. They just look so graceful as they glide along. All the while you know they are going super fast!
Moguls....they can't be good for your knees. They just can't! Go Canada! (They need to get a gold early on...)
7-0 after one period. I don't think anyone can touch the Canadian women's hockey team.
I'm going to go on record and say I disprove of sports that require judging. They might be fun to watch, but the scoring is entirely "random."
Guys! I'm going to the Olympics!! I'll be there Mon-Fri. Anyone you want me to try and stalk? Bode is at the top of my list! :D
Whaaaaaaat? How'd you score that????
My friends parents moved to Vancouver for work (her dad actually got to carry the torch!) and she lives in Portland. They have tickets to the Mens Speed Skating on Monday and an extra ticket to Mens Figure Skating finals on Thursday, which I am going to. Her dad is trying to get us more tickets so hopefully I'll get to go to more events. I am basically leaving early early tomorrow morning and driving up to Portland non-stop, meeting her and then leaving early early Monday morning to cross the boarder and get there before the speed skating event. Luckily because they live there, room and board is free so all I need to pay for is my gas (yay hybrid!) so I am SUPER DUPER pumped! :D
That's really awesome!! Have a GREAT time!! Those tickets are ridiculously expensive. I thought about tripping up to Vancouver, took one look at the event prices, and quickly nixed the idea.
You better be posting pictures and live blogging! Awesome tatertots!
Sadly I have a lame phone so I can really only do twitter updates and no internet stuff. :( But I'll definitely be taking photos and get my stalker on!
