The red sox win!
I was so hoping it was gone. I needed the points. ;) But I'd be happy to finish dead last in fantasy if my Sox are winning.
The red sox win!
yooooouuuuk!!! :d
Big night in Bean Town!
The red sox win!
D*** another exciting game between the Red Sox and Rangers, too bad the rangers have lost both of them. I dont know why Washington took Feliz out of the game the sox couldnt hit him at all.
Bruins win! Sox win!!! Bring out the confetti!!!!!
D*** another exciting game between the Red Sox and Rangers, too bad the rangers have lost both of them. I dont know why Washington took Feliz out of the game the sox couldnt hit him at all.
The Sox now have momentum. This team has a $170 million dollar payroll and some pretty good players. If things start clicking, they could get on a roll. We get the O's next at home, go to Toronto and then play the O's in Baltimore. We might get hot. For some reason, I knew we were going to win and just waited for that walk off. The ship has been righted.

There are at least 20 reporters crowding his locker. He went from zero to hero overnight. I don't even know if he has to doing anything from this point on to secure his free beer in Boston for life. We really needed those hits... The best thing he talked about (in yesterdays interview) was how he was saving the receipts for his concession meals so he could redeem them. I don't think he'll need to worry about that in the near term. NESN is just great to watch right now. It keeps going back and forth between all the highlights, interviews etc. between the two games.

I'm stuck watching Idol Gives Back. I had to suffer through the Black Eyed Peas, luckily they just had Jeff Beck on so it hasn't been all bad.

I've spent the majority of my life without my favorite RSN (regional sports network.) At least these days, if you are a serious addict like me you can dump the cash and get the games on MLB Ticket or online. However, you still won't get the two hour post game or hour pre-game. I believe in free market TV. You should just be able to buy exactly what you want and that is that. I get 275 channels (it goes up monthly but nothing good is ever added) and I watch probably 15 on a regular basis and another 15 on a whim. If NESN or YES (for those demented people) could be purchased anywhere, it would mean huge money for the big market teams (as I promise you the Rays would not be selling many out of market packages.) So I guess, the system now works well enough being it would cause a market alteration if you could get what you wanted to see...so although it sucks, the status quo is easier, I guess.

It was definitely great to have but it does stink that you don't get any of the after game coverage. I catch enough games now that it isn't worth the price for me. I totally agree with you on the free market TV idea. Sadly, I don't see it happening anytime soon.
What the heck were the Red Sox thinking!
Oh! let me try and lob this ball above the runners head in hopes Youk will make another awesome catch so I can get an out! Oops my bad, of course it goes over Youk's head too! Oh what? One error wasn't enough? Let me randomly throw it to 3rd and make another error! Perfect! We just totally screwed over the first 6 innings of great baseball! Yessssssss.
:weep:
:( Right when Buchholz was doing so good too.....
This: ESPN - Conversations: Dice-K could start Monday in Toronto Good move all around, especially for Beckett and me.
A-rod at it again. Its un-real how big of an *** hole he is. Braden even said he is a good player and the Yankees are a great organization, but A-rod being the *** hole that he is has nothing to say other than insulting Braden by saying "he only has a handful of wins in his career." Really wish the A's/Yanks had another game tomorrow so A-rod could get some high heat near the head.

This is so sad, it is funny.
The Mets will be paying Bobby Bonilla $1.19 million on July 1, 2011. They will then pay Bonilla another $1.19 million on July 1, 2012. And 2013, 2014 and 2015. All the way until July 1, 2035, when Bonilla will be 72 years old and the Mets could be 13 games out of first place ($29.75 million total.) According to BaseballLibrary.com, the Mets opted to offer Bonilla the deferred payments instead of paying him his $5.9 million salary in 2000. The kicker? Bonilla played in a total of 60 Mets games in 1999, hitting .160 with four home runs and 18 RBIs in his second go-round with the team. If you're a Red Sox fan and you're looking for a good chuckle, you might want to wait. Manny Ramirez will be owed $30 million by the Red Sox. That amount will be paid out in 16 payments of $1.94 million, made annually from 2011-2026.
Here is another Sox contract:

RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka may not be sent to the minor leagues and he has the following perks: physical therapist, massage therapist, interpreter, 8 first-class round-trip airline tickets per year between Boston & Japan, spring training housing allowance of up to $25,000, Boston housing allowance of up to $75,000, one-time moving allowance of up to $35,000, use of Lincoln Town Car or similar car, Red Sox player ticket package, including 2 field box seats, team employee to assist Japanese media, uniform No. 18. Agent – Scott Boras
I guess he waived the minor league thing, as he has pretty much been living there the last year...
The Red Sox game is off the hook so far tonight. Reminds me of that late August Rangers v. Sox game in 2008 (which ended 19-17.)
How do I get one of these contracts? lol
Seriously, that's like the best pension ever.
Not what I expected... Most-hated major league baseball team? Not Yankees, report says - ESPN
Not what I expected... Most-hated major league baseball team? But, the survey was flawed. Heck, most "pink hatters" (as we call them in these parts) don't even know Washington has a team (well, other than the one they probably think Ken Griffey Jr. is still playing for...)
Well instead of Cleveland rocks, I guess its now Cleveland SUCKS! ****! xD
Some of the comments in the talkback were amusing. Yes, everyone knows Cleveland has sports teams because it's been a running gag for over 50 years. People like to talk about how NO winning the SB is an uplifting story because of Katrina but, we could desperately use some kind of championship up there. Cleveland has been the national joke for something like 100 years. At least Detroit has had important industry based there. That said, I do NOT want the Indians to win a WS because of all the bad decisions they have made. Dolan/Shapiro/Wedge are the reason I am a proud Boston fan. It's not really so suprising that Boston is close to the top of the list, if noone in the world other than Yankees fans hated us, that's still a huge percentage of the overall MLB fanbase.

Not so fast... - Page 2 - ESPN
It all makes sense now. I too hate the Red Sox, so far this season. ;)
(Although, I do totally believe Boston clocking in as the No. 2 most hated team.)
Whatever Caple... If the Red Sox are so hated, why is it that everywhere they go (besides Yankee stadium) there are usually more Red Sox fans than homers? (i.e. home town fans.) The Trop - Fenway South. Camden Yards - New Fenway. Angel Stadium - Fenway West.
This is pretty much how I feel...
And this is how I feel...
Based on what? A poll taken in Fresno? The bottom lines is, there are basically 8 relevant teams in Major League Baseball: The Red Sox, Yankees, Angels, Phillies, Cardinals, Dodgers, Mets and Cubs.....(The last 2 only because we're fascinated with how they manage to choke every year). Other than these teams, baseball is a vast, uninteresting wasteland. How many people do you suppose watched the Rays beat the Royals last night? Is that why teams like the Sox draw record breaking attendance for their road games? So thousands can come out to hate them in person? Give me a break...
I'm watching the Red Sox at new Fenway and the crowd let out a roar with a Sox double play. Whatever the attendance, it is at least 65% Red Sox fans...
