It seems like everyone who has real lives outside the Challenge(Diem obviously among them) understands that Wes plays a certain character on the show that he knows is guaranteed to drive ratings and his personal brand, while outside the Challenge he's capable of being a normal, laid back guy. The only people I've heard describe him as a BAD person are JEK/Derrick/Frank/Vinny, all of whose life revolves around the shows. Not surprising they would be unable to differentiate.
Yeah even Nehemiah was interviewed about Wes following Rivals and explained that Wes is a business man and he know what draws ratings and that is why he always gets called up. He went on to say that Wes is not like that outside of the show at all and that is why he is still one of my best friends.
pff , is it me or is the drama really taking over. There used to be alot more competition in the trailers...
This trailer reminds me a lot of the trailer for Rivals 1

V1man already said it that there'll probably an another trailer coming out in the next two weeks with more competition and less fights/drama without content.

This is MTV. Competition alone apparently didn't do well for ratings from Inferno 3 to Cut Throat.

I think they showed enough to be honest.
People tune in for both drama, their favorites and competition but I feel like clips of the competition reveal too much, especially finals.
you dont need clips of competition, there will always be competition, we know they did a challenge every episode, they dont need to show it. What makes each challenge different is the drama that goes on whether that is personal drama or game politics

That simple fact is that BMP/MTV have yet to find a successful strategy to bring in new viewers. Some in the demographic want MTV to be ESPN for an hour a week. Others want an hour of Lifetime romance. Some want LOGO, others O2, etc. As I view the initial trailer, I see it appealing to only one segment of the demographic the fight/drama lovers. ****, they will watch anyway, so what it the point?
A more balanced trailer shown in purchased commercial space on other networks is the strategy I would employ to reach out to potential viewers.
On another note, am I the only one who thinks the 10pm time-slot is a horrible idea? I know they have been doing it for a while but I genuinely believe it costs them in the ratings...

What time slot do u think is better?
I'd go with Sunday night 8pm
I don't know, a LOT of other shows occur around that primetime slot. Back when it used to be on Mondays, I always missed the show - but I'm cool with Wednesdays.
I wonder why CT and Marlon fought... and why CT was trying to fight everyone from the trailer I can see him getting into fights/arguments/scuffles with Marlon,Ty,Frank, and Leroy
It could be that the dynamic in the house could go back to the whole ct the villain and public enemy number one thing causing tension between him and the other guys in the house.also With ct you always have to remember that everyone like to try to square up and act strong towards proven competitors and that goes to a whole new level when envolved with ct crazy physical capabilities.
MTV just needs to cut the real world, just do challenges, and have Fresh Meat's to introduce new people in my opinion.
That will never happen. They will cut the challenges far before they cut the real world. And its sad to say but the Real World has more viewers than the challenges.

Didn't Rivals get better ratings than RW:LasVegas2? And I'm pretty sure BOTS2's premiere episode had a 1.2 when St. Thomas had a .6.

That is a comparison of apples to oranges. RW to RW, Challenge to challenge. It's not as simple as possibly cutting one before the other. I believe (but I could be 100% wrong) that BMP owns RW and the contract with MTV simply orders a season (with MTV having cast review rights), whereas MTV owns the challenge format and contracts BMP to produce it, with MTV determining both format and approving full cast selection. Maybe someone who is fully aware of the facts will PM me. :)
OMG have you noticed that on the main page on mtv it says premire date is July 11 and than when you get on the show page it says July 10,they couldn't even put enough effort to write correct premiere date
Premiere date is July 10th
On June 26 there'll be an One-hour special show with Kenny Santucci and Nicole "Snooki" from Jersey Shore. Tonight during Teen Wolf there will be a sneek peek of the season (Maybe V1man trailer?)
