I think a cool format would be a combined one
First half of the season is teams
Then somewhere in the middle, they switch to individual until the final.
The thing is, they wouldn't know about the change of format to individual so they would *theoretically get rid of the weak players to keep their team strong and then only the strongest/middle tier would survive to the individ portion ensuring all decent competitors

Personally I want to see Brain vs. Brawns vs. Beauty, Heroes vs. Villains or just another cutthroat with the teams picked by a draw. My favorite cast you made was the one for the Duel 3, it would be a bloodbath on both the female and male side.

I really like that theme and can see viewers relate to it. It's more of a sporty competition which is awesome (:
I'm really hoping that if production does decides to take a risk and do a team challenge, then I hope its a Ruins 2.

[B][U]The Challenge: The Island II[/U][/B]
Guangzhou, China
Four preliminary teams (vet/rookie men and women) will compete in a daily challenge. One team of each gender will win, losing teams then must vote off one member of their team. The male and female players voted off will then select one player of the winning team to face off against on The Island. Once decisions are made, that day's winning teams will deliberate and decide what elimination games will be played on the island for each gender. The elimination games are based on/inspired by the Chinese Wu Xing (五行 five elements or five virtues): Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, and Metal. Eliminations are Exile styled in the sense that only the competitors will be present, no spectators. The winners on the Island will return to the game, but not necessarily to their original team. As the reward (or burden) for winning the mission the day before, the winning teams will be joined by that night's elimination winners. (Ex. Vet Girls win, rookies vote out Jenny. Jenny selects Cara Maria as her opponent. If Cara Maria wins, she stays on her team, if Jenny wins, she takes Cara Maria's place on the vet team.)

[COLOR="#DAA520"][B]Earth[/B] (土):[/COLOR] Mud wrestling competition to retrieve numerous idols; similar to Ball Brawl.
[COLOR="#0000FF"][B]Water[/B] (水):[/COLOR] While trapped inside of a water filled tank with limited air space, players must solve a puzzle located at the bottom of the tank that once completed will cause the walls of the tank to collapse releasing both the player and water.
[COLOR="#FF0000"][B]Fire[/B] (火):[/COLOR] Revamped and more complex Hanging By A Thread (possibly a hybrid with Spool to make it more of an obstacle course) where players burn through a series of ropes.
[B][COLOR="#008000"]Wood[/B] (木):[/COLOR] A duel on an elevated platform where players attempt to knock one another off using bamboo swords and shields.
[B][COLOR="#A9A9A9"]Metal[/B] (金):[/COLOR] Hardcore [URL="http://zorb.com/world/"]zorbing[/URL]. Placed inside of a metal sphere, players will attempt to roll it into a goal 5 times while smashing into their opponent to prevent them from scoring along the way. Done in offensive/defensive rounds like Balls In.
