2010 Olympics - Vancouver

One great thing about being in Vancouver, Canada is covering the games like nobodies business! A different event is on pretty much every other channel. Yay for watching events live! Not sure what is on right now for you guys, but they are having big problems with the Olympia icing machine (aka Zamboni but Zamboni's are awesome and never make the mistakes Olympia's do). It messed up the ice really badly between the first and second group of men's 500m Speed Skating. They had over an hour delay resurfacing the ice but it is starting back up and from what I can tell they are going to continue and finish the event tonight and not postpone it. My friend is at this event so I am on the look out for a couple of red heads in the crowd!
Snow Cross. Although, I have been spoiled...still want to see it though. I need some CTV!
Yeah it is on CTV, SPNET (sports Network), OLN, TSN and I'm sure many others. I even get the NBC feed but I am pretty much ignoring that. ;)
Oh, How I love CTV and watching it on the Olympics. I can't believe how far the american channel is behind.
Oh, How I love CTV and watching it on the Olympics. I can't believe how far the american channel is behind.
The only advantage is we have USA, Bravo, MSNBC, CNBC and NBC broadcasting and later in the week there will be more offerings so you can pick and choose what you want to see. Still, they want to save the big events for prime time (like downhill) and they are seeing huge ratings so they are not going to change the formula. With China, they basically made them run the big events so it was live in prime time on the east coast, but I guess that is not the case here. The simple fact is...if you want to enjoy the Olympics and live in the US - stay away from the internet. I've already flagged spoiler websites in my normal grazing area and will be avoiding them for the next two weeks. ;)

Will they broadcast the US Women's hockey team beating Canada on all those channels simultaneously? Hehe... (Yes, I know...we need to keep nationalism out of this...lol.)
I just cannot get into pairs figure skating. It just seems so emasculating.
The U.S. Women's hockey team is going to beat the Canadians? Really, didn't the Canadians today beat the Swiss 10-1. I'm actually surprised they got scored on at all, they just are dominating.
I just cannot get into pairs figure skating. I know figure skating is everyone's favorite, but I'm just not that into it. Actually, I was laughing to myself because the announcers were going over the top to call the "plays" as they skated. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH MY! THEY DID IT! THE Triple flip-o-muxin! Insane! Can. You. Believe. It! Actually, yes. The last two skaters did the same thing, right?

While they haven't played any good teams yet (and neither has the US...let's face it, they're the only 2 good teams in the tournament) they've been pretty dominant and have never let up. Should be interesting when they play each other.

I will add that the United States won the 2009 Women's World Ice Hockey Championships, 4-1 over Canada, defending their crown and have gone Sliver, Gold, Gold since Turin. They are not a joke...
Has anyone seen the sport doubles luge? It to me seems very..... awkward.
Has anyone seen the sport doubles luge? It to me seems very..... awkward.
I have not... Isn't it pretty much bobsled at that point? lol.
I have not... Isn't it pretty much bobsled at that point? lol.
No. It's really awkward. Kind of reminds me of a reverse Ambiguously Gay duo...
No it's when from what I have seen when one person is on top of the other.
Well, the good news is they are comfortable with their sexuality, and we need more of that in today's society. :D
They're going nuts at the moguls medal ceremony! Oh, I don't like the medals at all.
Gotta admit, it's pretty cool to see someone win the gold in their home country. You can tell the fans are really yelling the anthem.
Hahahahaha, the only good thing about watching figure skating is listening to the TV commentators after someone falls. It's the "tsk" of disappointment, followed by "ooooooooh". All said very monotonously. The best part is, almost every single pair has fallen. So we get to hear it a lot!
Just what I've been waiting for! It's curling time!!
Just what I've been waiting for! It's curling time!!
Sweep! Sweep!
Curling is a sport? I thought it was just a game made up by the simpsons. Wonder what other creative sports made this year in Vancouver :D
Sweep! Sweep!
I personally like the HARD! HARD! but that's just the immature girl in me :D
Curling is a sport? But not the stupid floor shuffleboard...table shuffleboard. So much better.
Personnally I played curling for years. (Some competitvely and some not) It is though definately not as easy a sport to play as it looks.
Personnally I played curling for years. (Some competitvely and some not) It is though definately not as easy a sport to play as it looks.
Well, that's because you're Canadian. No one else really cares about curling.
Haha...I love this commercial. Curling Rocks! Er...kind of? YouTube - Curling Rocks
O wow!!!!!! :D I remember a couple of years ago, more like 2002 to be exact, that they're were gonna make cup staking a competitive olympic sport . Was this ever true?
I have no idea what cup staking is.
Cup staking is when people stack plastic cups in pyramid formation and then de stack in a period of time. For your answer I really don't think so that is ridiculous. True also to that comment about curling except most people I know completely discredit it and rule it not a sport. It's on all the time on the sports channel and I never watch it. It though is a pretty good game to do with some friends minus the cold. Also China should do well for curling, they were really good at the games 2 years ago.
