Puppy Bowl time! I need a pick me up.
Speaking of dogs, this commercial was the only redeeming moment of Super Bowl XLVI:
That por dog had to work so hard! It should receive the MVP award. I didn't mind the trailers for John Carter and Battleship because it meant I got to see Riggins twice!

The Superbowl was today? You would think they would have had something on TV or in the paper about that.....
"My husband can not f****** throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."
Love or hate Tom Brady, I think she has a point.

In my opinion, the ball Deion Branch dropped on the final drive was just as, if not more important. Branch had nobody within 15 yards of him. Frankly I don't even think the "drop" by Welker was his fault. The throw was behind him. And not to mention, without Welker's play this season, the Patriots would not be anywhere near the Superbowl.

That said, had he made that catch the Pats would have been able to run out the clock. It wasn't a perfect throw, but at the same time it was the clincher and Welker has made even tougher catches in the past. Local talk radio seems to be targeting Brady the most (with the focus on the first quarter safety that eventually led to a 9 point spot) - although the Welker play is also being likened to a "Bill Buckner" moment.
Patriot fans should be blaming Bill Belichick for being a terrible GM over the past few years. The team has a terrible defense, no deep threat, and no running game, but people want to blame the few good parts on the team rather than the gaping holes on the roster.

He got his team to the Superbowl and lost by 4 points. What a failure! First, Robert Kraft should confiscate his five AFC Conference Champion and three Superbowl rings. Next, he should fire him on the spot (once the bling is returned) and publicly flog him for being the winningest coach in New England history. Finally, he should be replaced with one of those amazing coaches that watched the Superbowl from the comfort of their living room - as clearly they must have done something right to be able to drink beer and watch the Madonna halftime show on a plush couch with party snacks in front of a 60" television.
Yes, Belichick's been terrible. He got his team to the Superbowl and lost by 4 points. What a failure!
In all fairness, the three or four best teams were all in the NFC, so it's not like he had to go through that many great teams to make it there. ****, they only had to win two games and one of them was against the BRONCOS. That's not to say they're a bad team, but they didn't really have to work that hard in the playoffs to make the Super Bowl.
In all fairness, the three or four best teams were all in the NFC, so it's not like he had to go through that many great teams to make it there.
You bring up a very good point. It is Belichick's fault the Pats are not in the NFC. Another good reason to cut him loose...
I said Bill Belichick has been a terrible GM not coach. He has been a fantastic coach. There is a huge difference between being a GM and a coach. One person shouldn't have both positions.
I haven't seen one team completely mentally own another team like the Giants have the Patriots over the last few years since the Cowboys' ownage of the Bills in the 90s....LOL good stuff.

He only gets around 11 carries a game, and even the elite running backs wouldn't be able to post very impressive stat lines with only 11 carries. Chad Ochocinco is a deep threat, he just isn't intelligent enough to learn the complex playbook. That is not BB's fault. They did not lose on Sunday because of lacking a deep threat or a good defense. Had Gronkowski been healthy, had Manningham not made arguably the catch of the year, or had Brady been able to hit a wide open Welker, the Patriots probably would be super bowl champions right now.
You bring up a very good point. It is Belichick's fault the Pats are not in the NFC. Another good reason to cut him loose...
I'm not saying cut him loose, I'm saying that what they did given the circumstances really isn't that impressive to me.
I said Bill Belichick has been a terrible GM not coach. He has been a fantastic coach. There is a huge difference between being a GM and a coach. One person shouldn't have both positions.
So what you are saying is that as a GM he did a terrible job being he not only got his team to the Super Bowl, but had the lead with under one minute to play? I'm absolutely confused as to your point. He was a dropped pass away from his fourth Super Bowl title as part of the Patriots organization. To say that he is a terrible GM is ridiculous. All the pieces were in place. Now did he make mistakes in the Super Bowl as a coach? Yes.

Sure, the $12M is nice for this year, but if he doesn't put up 11 sacks and 6 forced fumbles again in the 2012 season or if he were to get injured, the contract offer he would receive from the Lions would be for significantly less money than if he got a deal done now.

So that eliminates them from the Peyton talk
So that eliminates them from the Peyton talk
They were eliminated before, hence them trading up to get RGIII.
Peyton is going to Miami. It is a perfect fit, especially with the option to trade up for RG3 seemingly moot.
I guess I should back up my statements a little bit... He has a condo there and is familiar with the area. It is not a dome, but it is warm which suits him. There is also an owner with deep pockets. The Dolphins were a good team down the stretch after a horrible start. Their biggest issue, was not having a competent QB. They have a good first round pick placement which can go to a prized offensive lineman to add to what is an already impressive protective unit. Finally, Peyton would love to play Brady twice during the regular season - and win.
Peyton is going to Miami. It is a perfect fit, especially with the option to trade up for RG3 seemingly moot.
I personally think Peyton is tired of having a ****** defense that he has to make up for with spectacular quarterback play. A chance to play with Denver's defense is certainly going to be very, very tempting to him. I'm not sure why he would want to go to Arizona other than Larry Fitzgerald, but apparently Denver and Arizona are the front runners. The local Shoney's in Nashville was offering Peyton free pancakes for life as long if he chose to be a Titan.
Hopefully the 49ers didn't screw themselves. If Alex Smith signs with Miami, I have no idea what they would do at qb.
That's super disappointing. The local Shoney's in Nashville was offering Peyton free pancakes for life as long if he chose to be a Titan.
I think if he is in a pancake mood he can probably afford them, lol.
Hopefully the 49ers didn't screw themselves. If Alex Smith signs with Miami, I have no idea what they would do at qb.
That would be interesting. Miami needs a franchise quarterback, not a short term distraction like Tebow.
