YIKES

To be fair I wouldn't want to watch either if that's what these mfs look like

This is going to be a good season. Ppl never tune in for this episode and they barely promote it

Who are you cheering for this season since your lover boys aren't on?

Mostly rookies. But Rogan being back is cool wouldn't mind him pulling it out and an Ashley win is always fun

Episode 1 predictions?

Episode 1 predictions?

challenge 40 episode 1 got 430k with one of the best casts so i'm guessing 350k for this one

Episode 1 predictions?

Still had to go against Big Brother. So I'm gonna say 390k.

The premiere ratings are lower than any s40 and AS5 episode.... this is going to be the last season

Where are the numbers?

Episode 1 was #9 on cable with 243k viewers and a 0.10 demo

It was the #2 entertainment show on cable (aka non-news and non-sports)

0.243m..... for a premiere.......... the lowest is what

Yikes...that is bad, bad.

they ignored the fans for way too long, ran the show to the ground. They need to put this on streaming like rn

need westracked to come explain the ratings to us

the viewership number is lower, but with other metrics it's not terrible.

the demo held strong on cable, which is the biggest thing networks look at. they also look at social media engagement and episode 1 was trending on twitter (reaching its peak at #5 in the US).

even lower than any allstars 5 episode is crazy bc that cast was atrocious. Clearly people don't care about this shit

I agree with BBS, it's totally about where it sits with everything else. The show performed fine relative to its market share. Cable has been dying for years and now's it's brain dead. The doctor's on his way to the room to pull the life support.

Hopefully with Skydance coming in, next day streaming will become priority #1 and the show can start gaining relevancy again.

Honestly CBS's lineup is dog fecal . I think the Flagship/42 is gonna get VMA'd to CBS. MTV will die or just be a brand. 42 will be on CBS's lineup from April to September.

It's always interesting how they bring people from survivor and big brother that gets 5 million viewers but those numbers never translate lol

Drag race on the same network was doing 600k-890k every episode this season... It is not a cable issue it's a producers issue

That's not entirely accurate. Drag Race's premiere pulled 671k back in January and ended at 867k in April. Other than those, only three episodes were above 790k: (794k, 870k, and 984k). So four of 16 episodes above 790k. The other eleven episodes ranged from 424k to 591k, with more than half in the 424k to 550k range. It's significantly higher than The Challenge, but very much inconsistent and not like it's pulling 750k a week. The average for the season was 614k.

Not having it stream the next day is absolutely wild. It's a good season but there is nowhere to catch up if you miss. Big Brother gets like 3 million viewers live but they came out and said they've had 26 million unique viewers watch on CBS and Paramount. Does 26 million "unique viewers" mean 26 million different people have tuned in? It's crazy how they could have millions of more viewers but for zero reason they opt out of streaming it. I too wish WesTracked would come explain it Sad

Honestly CBS's lineup is dogshit. I think the Flagship/42 is gonna get VMA'd to CBS. MTV will die or just be a brand. 42 will be on CBS's lineup from April to September.

cbs ain't airing the challenge for 6 months if survivor isn't even that long

The sixth months delay from the end of reunion to finally on Paramount Plus is KILLING the show.

I know BMP/MTV want as much ratings as possible but cable has died. It's network tv or streaming. Everything else will be off the air in less than five years, probably closer to the next three years. Seriously. Every major network is going to merge/monopolize until there's only five or so major companies. They're almost there now.

Negotiate or die. Get on next day streaming before you lose any remaining relevancy.

Does anyone know why they don't stream the next day?

CBS has absolutely nothing on in early summer. It's dead air. I could see The Challenge premiering like three weeks before the end of Survivor (mid-April) and going until Big Brother starts up (early August).

CBS also has three reality shows that they've shelved but aren't cancelled (Challenge USA, Tough as Nails, and Buddy Games). And Julie Pizzi from The Challenge and Phil Keoghan from Tough as Nails have said publicly that they are on hiatus and not dead.

Does anyone know why they don't stream the next day?

it's something i legit can't wrap my head around them not doing. they even upload it the same day on P+ Canada and P+ UK.. so why they don't do it in the US baffles me

Does anyone know why they don't stream the next day?

It's most likely in BMP's legacy contracts and if Paramount wasn't negotiating next day streaming revenue, they made the business decision to keep as many eyeballs on them as possible.

Paramount/CBS are the same company that completely fumbled Love Island and Peacock made it rise from the ashes like a Phoenix. NBC is just way, way better at reality television.
