I doubt G3 can bring in quality numbers. I have all expectations that this will be the last challenge for a few years until they can "re-work" the formula. Look at inferno 3. The most dramatic part of the entire season was missed when CT punched Davis. That would have been golden to have on film. In the future they will stage that stuff for "continually", add quicker cuts and lots of cheesy dialog building toward the main story arc. That is when you will see 2 Million per episode watching once again. Of course by that point it will be "actuality" rather then "reality."
Ya know, as a fan of the Hills and Laguna Beach 'actuality' type shows, I never saw the harm in liking them. Yes I knew they were fake, but I liked to watch the high level cinematography and I was still sucked into the storylines that are more or less 'based on a true story'. But now I think I kind of get it. With the immense popularity of those types of shows, it makes 'reality' shows no longer juicy and interesting enough. And while I enjoy the Hills, I never wanted all my reality shows to go in that direction. I like the raw sometimes shaky camera angles of RW and the like. And I like knowing that besides creative editing it is, essentially, real. So I am hoping that the Hills isn't where all reality television programming is heading. And Shot at Love?? I actually tried to watch it a couple times and could never get into it. At all. And I have heard they are already having a spin off show of that?? Bleh!
I can't believe that there are actually a decent number of RW fans out there who would encourage Trisha's mean spirited and cruel behavior towards Parisa. I mean, I don't think Parisa is perfect, but how can ANYONE take TRISHA'S side?? Honestly?? And I certainly hope that Trisha isn't so deluded that she doesn't think that the majority of viewers don't think she is a cruel immature and nasty little brat!
As with most from the RW/RR community, they only know what they hear. Trisha tells us that what she hears day-to-day is only positive stuff... Of course most of these people are probably hammered and in a club somewhere, but that doesn't make the comments any less meaningful to her.
In the circle in which Trisha travels, Parisa is the the type of person who probably would not fit in, so the comments she says she is hearing make sense.
Personally, I never really warmed up to Trisha while she was on the show, but my reaction to Parisa is that she reminded me of hundreds of women occupying the coffeeshops around NYU's library -- totally full of BS and all to happy to share it with you...

I want to see the cast of Laguna Beach, Newport Harbor and The Hills in a challenge against average RW/RR challenge vets. MTV would be picking up body parts for weeks of the "pretty people."

Now that is just genius, and a rating bonanza waiting to happen. You pitch this yet to MTV Networks? :D

The concept is registered and trademarked. It is one of about 20 concepts we have on the table.
Hmmm. I don't think any of those Orange County rich kids would go for it, but who knows. I think most of the FEMALE vets could take out most of the GUYS from those shows. I can't see Lauren and the gang from the Hills doing a challenge any time soon, but maybe some other former Laguna Beach alum who didn't get a spin off show of their own. ;)
Oh ya, and I was curious... does anyone know if Newport Beach did well at all?? Even I couldn't get into that one, and I'm a LB and Hills fan. Actually, LB season 3 sucked too. Obviously they needed to bring in better writers. ;) I was just wondering about Newport Beach though, because I would rather they don't have another season of it.

I might even *gasp* dish out PPV money to see Coral and Lauren Conrad in the Gauntlet duking it out! Maybe CT up against Jason Wahler!
The only problem is getting the "actors" from those contrived actuality shows to commit to being in a real, reality show where your hands get dirty and there are no second takes.
I guess once their 15 minutes is up (calling Kristin Cavallari where ever you may be!) LC and the gang will clawing to be seen again and that might be when the chance does arrive to do a "Battle of the Shows" or something to that effect.
I hope it gets green lit!

I can just imagine it...I so hope they pick this up...I wanna see coral get a hold of Spencer or Justin Bobby...or see Tonya chew Heidi up and spit her out, LOL

Battle of the Network Reality Stars was sort of on the right track, but they had too many pretty people and no blood. Of course, I'd pay to see some of the women for The Bachelor mud wrestle, so I may not be a mainstream viewer (or maybe I am, LOL).
I really wish the Reality Rumble had not been cancelled. I saw Tonya training for her fight. All her sparing partners were guys. She broke one guy's nose and put him on the canvas. Tonya is not human. She has only one speed: full-ass forward.

I liked Battle of the Network Reality stars, but you are right as it was very diluted. Also, they were attempting to pander to a much wider audience rather then choosing a core demo. With LB, Hills, NH vs RW/RR you span an audience that already exists on a single network were there is plenty of overlap, and you create enough of atmosphere to get them to all show up on a given night.
I didn't know Reality Rumble was off for good. I saw that they had missed their target date because of an injury. That is to bad.

Yeah I wanted to see that show...had some promise, Kinda reminds me of the boxing match that had Screech and Tonya Harding and some others...
Who do you guys think would have won in each match up??
Katie vs Tonya
Kenny vs MJ
Landon vs Evan

winners: tonya, mj, evan
winners: tonya, mj, evan
The first one is easy. Katie would be mauled. Might even need limb re-attachment surgery after the bout. Susie would have been much more satisfying to me as an opponent for Tonya.
The middle bout would be the toss up. I'd say Kenny had a slight advantage.
The last one would seem to favor Evan by a wide margin. In G2 he and CT were the alphas with Wes just playing smarter for the win. In reality I'd say Evan could pretty much take all comers.

Susie? What, no love going out to Pittsburg? Tonya might have enjoyed that, too.
Tonya over Katie in the first round. Rachel was to have been Tonya's opponent. She would have lost to Tonya as easily. The real fight, and the one first posted on the website, was Tonya vs Beth. That would have been more interesting, and probably the best real and technical fight of the night. Tonya loves the competition and is fearless; Beth is a trained kickboxer with over a decade of experience. Reality Rumble posted on their website that Beth was fight Tonya before either woman had a contract in her hands. They never could reach agreement with Beth.
Kenny/MJ -- Small advantage to MJ for boxing skills and ability to take a hit. Kenny -- you can't talk shit about someone when his is hitting you. Tall and good reach, but skinny. MJ by decision.
Landon/Evan -- Landon in a walkover. I've seen him in condition. He is an amazing athlete. His hand speed is incredible and he has the right kind of jaw to take a punch. Evan -- Like Kenny, you have to produce in the ring, not talk shit about it. He also has a decided couple of rings on top of his muffin top. That's why you often see him in XXL long sleeve tshirts -- coverage.
No offense to Susie, but if she had been against Tonya she would have left in a stretcher. I would say Susie's a good game player mentally, and holds her own physically, but Tonya is RIPPED and CRAZY. Poor Katie wouldn't have stood much a chance either. Beth and Tonya would have been a good match though, it would have been interesting to see how that would have turned out.
As for MJ and Kenny, MJ no doubt. Kenny would be too worried about damaging his self proclaimed pretty face.
Landon and Evan is a toss up for me. I saw Landon at America's Pub on an appearance once, and was suprised to see how much smaller he looked in real life. Hard to say.

Susie would have been soup on the floor, LOL
Katie would not have stood a chance either, she is all bark
Beth would be a good match up I think
Kenny is such a girl, a girl with muscles and a pretty face
:)

Well, welcome back Italianvix! Glad your hellish season in retail is over for you now! ;) I could never do it myself, I tried a long time ago and couldn't handle it!

Yeah, I did retail for 1 week...part time and that was all it took...the only thing I liked was styling the displays.

Sweet thanks for the info!
I hope trisha IS there. it'd make it so much more dramatic and fun
She was on the commercial. It looked like Parisa was finally having her say. I wish they would have posted a sneak peek!
I wonder if they'll ask Trisha what she thought about Isaac's comment about "nobody liked trisha" hahahahaha
I just want to see her there so I can watch her be humiliated.

MTV would not have invited her to NY to humiliate her. She represents too much of an investment. They want her to stay interested so she can be a polarizing character on a future challenge. It's all about business ($$$).

I agree, they want to at least get her to the next challenge where instead of flyweights tossing verbal jabs there will be seasoned pros dropping the hammer down.
I get the impression that no matter the environ she is placed in, she will want to be the center of attention and trouble will soon follow. I am sure we will see her again soon and I am sure there will be drama, just like MTV wants.
