Unfortunately my DVR cut off before it ran (I had no idea that preview was running tonight so I didn't set out to get it.) MTV is not currently hosting it at their site and thus far it is nowhere to be found on youtube or any of the other video sharing sites. :(
the only reason i knew it was on was because bri told me, but i only tivo'd the hour long gauntlet and like few second preview after that. i didn't record the whole seperate 5 min thing, ****it. you can rewind TV though, and then retape it, but i don't know if you can go as far back as yesterday. i know i can't find it anywhere and its driving me nutzz
has anyone seen this yet? YouTube - THE REAL WORLD HOLLYWOOD
That is funny! You think they are just a bit excited?
That is funny! You think they are just a bit excited?
I liked the "In your face Greg" comment...I can't wait to find out more about that besides the blog.
I liked the "In your face Greg" comment...I can't wait to find out more about that besides the blog.
It is quite obvious that they all hated him 5 minutes into the first day. I can't imagine how things will be a month down the road. I am sure there is still a lot of pent up hostility even now that it is all over and they are not shy about being vocal about that hostility.
i went to high school with greg and i can honestly say that i dont think anyone who has ever met him, actually liked him (except the one person he hung out with in highschool 24/7... not sure if i can name names or i would). i had a class with him and my friend and i used to tell him off just about every day. our teacher would just laugh and wait until we were finished and the second he tried to talk she would yell at him or send him out.

I looked at his profile on realworldcasting.com and could tell he was a disfunctional flake 10 seconds into his application video. MTV must have cringed when they realized he was going to win and probably considered trying to find any way to disqualify him. Of course, doing that would disqualify the "fans sentiments" and would have been a serious PR disaster. Obviously there was some serious ballot stuffing involved and it is no wonder that MTV is not doing an online contest again this year (or maybe EVER.)
Greg probably voted for himself a million times
Greg probably voted for himself a million times
I agree. There is no question that he participated in fixing the online poll. They are not that hard to manipulate if you examine the code and understand what makes them tick. Even IP regulated polls can be subverted by using more complex proxy arrays to appear to be voting from a different location each time. Also, with the Casting Contest, the vote was extremely divided early on so it did not take a lot of cheating to move forward. With such a large field at the start, you could just pump in a thousand votes and that would move you right to the the top and into the next round. MTV has come a long way with their polling systems in the last year, but they are still quite vulnerable. If they were serious about getting accurate samples they would be using entirely different voting technologies. For such a demographically youth bound channel, they are very slow to adopt new web technologies and when they do they choose the wrong ones (e.g. their disaster of a flash site.)
Yeah, I agree about MTV.com I hate everything about that site
I'm glad Greg was casted. I just laugh at him each time the camera pans his way.
You know this how?!
well i'm pretty sure it said it on the site but i think the guy who was in second place also talked about it a lot. i cant remember his last name but his first name was ricky and he was the merchandise person for some hardcore band or something. i think he was actually in first place most of the time but then mtv cut him... i'll look for some evidence haha
