Did I hear clearly? Beth Stolarczyk is putting real life before a Challenge? Color me shocked!

Wow. Simply the best idea they have had since well Battle of the Sexes.
I love that Tonya and Drrick have come back. Interesting as I thought they both retired after the Inferno. Robin will always come back so that doesn't come as a shock.
I am glad that the Fresh Meat have dispersed from this Challenge. Makes the game much better. Ryan isn't that bad.
The inclusion of the Sydney cast is okay. Ashli isn't that interesting. DUnbar..well that should be interesting.
Johanna pulled a fast one with deciding to come back. Isn't she occupied with Miss Peru?
I smell the Newbies winning this one. Tonya doesn't have a chance considering the Girls on this Challenge. Although she has known to be a fighter. Derrick has a good chance, but Johnnie doesn't.
That was a long 1st post.
Wow. Simply the best idea they have had since well Battle of the Sexes.
I agree. If this goes down as predicted, it is going to become an instant classic.
I know a lot of people are not happy to see a cast list without their favorites of old, but overall I think this is a killer cast with plenty of new blood and a welcome absence of the Fresh Meat plague.

She is an alpha dog on the female side of the equation and the odds of her walking with some more serious cash are excellent. I think it was a good decision on her part.
As for Miss Peru, that ship has sailed and the winner was crowned a few weeks back.

I think she has a survivor mentality and will be a good fit for such a format.

Classic yes.
True. I mean Coral has been my favorite since her season of the Real World and it just doesn't seem like a Challenge without Beth, but we need some new "fresh meat" not Freshmeat. Grr.
True. Johanna has shown that shes the leader of the pack.
Tonya and pilates? Woah. I've always thought Tonya was actually a great competitor when it need be.
Yeah. I apologize again for that.
Bacchus has said that he doesn't know the format. If they really are making it out to be like Survivor it will be two teams with the losing team going to elimination and someone having immunity and someone leaving. but if they really are going by this the voting process will be quite interesting. Team members vote each other off which would lead to the teams being much stronger but that is when alliances play a role.
Honestly, if they kept it like that I would be interested but then I would miss the classic way of two people battling for the ability to stay.
Here is an interesting scenario:What if the person who statistically did the worst went to the duel so to speak and then the others deliberate on who else to send in.
Another interesting factor that would come into play is that voting is kept secret during Survivor. Would they use this voting process secretly as well?
If that is the case you can predict some interesting eliminations this time around. Brooke and Tonya would clearly be eligible for elimination early do to their cattiness.

That could get interesting...
That could get interesting...
It would ge very interesting because not knowing who voted for who is going to stir many problems and cause many friendships to be broken.

I get so tired of seeing this suggestion written as though it were fact. Beth has consistently said that would do a challenge if it fit her schedule availability. She has turned down a number of challenge offers over the years based on her business and personal schedules. Inferno 3 is the most recent example.
This time, she has both business and personal conflicts that would not allow her to be away during the month of June.
If that turns out to be the real cast, then I am excited! My two favorite people will be there.. Brooke and Derrick. Brooke is such a hot mess, and Derrick is simply nice to look at lol.

I really could care less about Derrick during his season on Road Rules, but he earned my respect during The Gauntlet 2 and actually became my favorite player that season. It was a tragedy that he overcame all that adversity to lose the final Gauntlet to Timmy.
Glad he was able to come into Inferno 3 and finally win one.
BTW: I think "Rambo" is a good look for him, lol.
Though the cast isnt too exciting for me either, Katie, at least there aren't that many Freah Meat kids. UGH
I honestly couldnt take kenny or evan for 1 more season. i probably wouldnt even watch it lol

i dont know why, but i still keep up hope that we'll have some oldies, but goodies cast on the challenges. I'm disappointed every time
and there's no feigning enthusiasm for the SYDNEY cast. The smiley list is too long for me to spend time trying to find "eye roll" haha
The smiley list is too long for me to spend time trying to find "eye roll" haha
I am so excited about Fresh meat not being on it en masse - I don't even care who is on it!
Well.... Danny and Evelyn aren't on it, so that will be a plus. I still think we have another Inferno 3 snorefest on our hands though. ;)
And I don't care what anyone says, I think Wes brought a LOT of entertainment value to these challenges! So far, he has been one to actually keep to his word about 'retiring' from them though.
Hey I loved that movie! Lol
Seriously, I HAAAAAAATED Wes on Real World, but for some reason I really liked him on the challenges. Maybe because he was always the outcast and I tend to root for the underdog that pulls through, I dunno.
I miss Theo. I know he was trying to do stand up for a while, but I think he needs to come back for a challenge. So I have been watching the first Battle of the Sexes on veoh, and I was wondering about Road Rules Emily and James. I wanna know what happened to them and if they are still together. I am also curious to know if Chadwick and Holly are still married. I still never got over Holly going from being a **** to being Mrs. Christian mom. I ALSO wanna know what Yes is up to these days!!!!
(Sorry, I was having nastalgic challenge flashbacks)
Sometimes I wonder if the challenges really were better then, or maybe a lot of us were just in the more appropriate age range for the show and thought the people and events were so much cooler. Not sure.

Ooooh, very nice!! He should never be allowed to wear shirts.
Bacchus, the sociogram is fascinating but assuming neither that the list is accurate or inaccurate because I don't actually know, I have some disagreement with it.
1. First, I agree that Brooke is very social. For that reason alone, her circle should be heavily intersecting with at least one of the strong women. I'd go with Tonya as the physically strong one and then with Colie as a result of natural alliance that always exists within a season when there are outside threats. After that, she should also have a connection to Kelly Anne and Ashli because those two are smart enough to have seen the largely internet reaction to Brooke's ability to bring drama. For your first challenge, you should be about getting as much attention as possible since history says you are going home early.
2. Robin and Johanna need to be two fully intersecting circles since both will be fully isolated from the others who will see them as threats. Assuming your sociologist friend is right and knows of an outside connection between Colie and Johanna, that might mean there should be a dotted line between the two. I can't imagine what she brings to Johanna's game. Robin might well be trying to form the kind of larger alliance the sociogram suggests, but certainly those in the smaller circles of the Robin sphere of influence would see themselves as the "Cerie" of any alliance with Robin... useful until no longer needed. That argues that the new people should band together to eliminate Robin quickly.
3. I don't see Tonya as the "Lone Ranger" depicted. It you look at the outside influence as the guys, then those circles should be touching and the new people gravitating toward her. You can't ignore the experience of someone going on her 7th challenge, tying Beth for the record. Every person from Hollywood, Sydney and Denver has the opportunity to connect with Tonya. She is known to be fiercely loyal on the challenges, even if occasionally wrongly so. Knowing that she and Derrick were on Inferno 3 together and won it says they are a force to be respected and alligned with if possible.
Maybe I'll come back with some other thoughts after some coffee, but I woke up with these reactions this morning after thinking about the sociogram for a day.
Final idea... The sociogram is an idea casting tool. If you know the people well enough, you should be able to predict the potential drama and even work to exploit it happening for it's story value..I. wonder if BMP uses something similar. Sticky notes probably work well for this.

I agree that Brooke is very social. For that reason alone, her circle should be heavily intersecting with at least one of the strong women.
Yes, she is a highly social animal - but not in a genuine manner (as indicated by the "Least Sincere" moniker.) She is outwardly loquacious while inherently being in turmoil. From that we can infer she does not form meaningful bonds with peers, which is why she does not diametrically fall into the social radius of the other female competitors.
Robin and Johanna need to be two fully intersecting circles since both will be fully isolated from the others who will see them as threats. Assuming your sociologist friend is right and knows of an outside connection between Colie and Johanna, that might mean there should be a dotted line between the two.
The amount of common overlap between Robin and Johanna is to scale in respect to the real world relationship between Colie and Johanna. From the data I provided to my social cartographer (culled from reliable external sources) it would be safe to assume that Johanna and Colie are the strongest actual alliance amongst the woman present (which supersedes the natural alliance derived via personality compatibility and analogous game objectives shared between Johanna and Robin.)
I don't see Tonya as the "Lone Ranger" depicted. It you look at the outside influence as the guys, then those circles should be touching and the new people gravitating toward her. You can't ignore the experience of someone going on her 7th challenge, tying Beth for the record.
You need to take into account the fact that she is the old guard and even though many of her "blood rivals" are not present, her reputation proceeds her. I can concede that her relationships with the men (especially Derrick) could in some respects change the relative weighting in a big picture view, but in reality such relationships outside her contemporaries (the women) only act to further engorge the schism depicted.

I bet that they do something on the same lines all though I am sure they have much more accurate information provided through people who specialize in the field. I am just an armchair "activist" with a laptop and a few friends on myspace.
