I actually heard Kellyanne was the only girl that won :yikes:, but then again this person could be lying to me, just like they lied to me about the format of this challenge :sadangel2:. I mean come on MTV/BMP are really strict, and are making the cast and crew members stay shut this season. Either way it's just another speculation so take it with a grain of salt. Oh yeah if you know any crew members they are back in the states, but you all probably know that by now.
hmmmmm producer you sure you don't work for BMP?
hmmmmm producer you sure you don't work for BMP?
no I really don't, as of right now I wish I was lol, but let me break it down for you on how I got this info. Well I use to intern at Universal Music Group, so one of our task is to call basically different entertainment companies, and radio stations, to play or music. So I have a friend/classmate who works in the promotions department at MTV, and we basically talk through the phone, and later by school. Either way he knows, people that intern in BMP, and they basically know what usually goes on in taping. It's basically playing telephone, but its been hard to get any info from anyone this season.
The whole point of this Challenge I think, was to keep the viewers guessing, which in turn would make you tune in more. It is much better kept a secret than having everyone know.
I do not think anyone knows the winners except for Bacchus and V1. So don't think it is automatically a lie.
You think we actually know who won? Bacchus may know and he may think I know. Neither of us may know. Therein lies the beauty of speculation. The joy is in the search...
Someone asked in a PM how we find out stuff. A lot of it is dull and boring, but here is the essence of it for me.
Sometimes people (family/friends) who are close to a cast member will say or write something that is very, very innocuous, from which no one could gain the slightest bit of insight; but, when one adds the tiniest of fragments to information similarly obtained elsewhere, one can begin to see an emerging pattern. When one overlays that pattern onto the trailer, more and more things seem to make sense.
I am, quite frankly, stunned that the trailer contains such a wealth of information. You all have done an excellent job of clue-finding, although finding a clue and discerning its significance may not come with equal ease.
As I've written before, I applaud BMP's efforts to contain cast and crew alike from making spoiler discovery easy. The one pic that Bacchus posted early during the challenge was on of those "oops" moments, when someone was at the right place at the right time to "find" and copy that picture. Naturally, knowing where to look is important. Well before the challenge, we began assembling a list of likely crew members, based on past challenges. Watching their myspace, facebook and blog activity gave us the challenge location. Contacting myspace members who come from the coast of Panama where we suspected the challenge to be held, gave us more treasure as someone with relatives still there offered additional foundation. Airport sightings, so crucial in tracking The Amazing Race cast around the world, became important in verifying dates of travel and airports and airlines used. We occasionally got lucky, too with sighting of some (too few) upon their return to the USA.
All the above refers to past information discovered... In the sense that past is prologue, we are likely mining the same hills and valleys today to learn more, but we need to keep a few secrets lest they be effectively employed by those at other sites (the essence of competition). What we never expected to have dropped in our laps was such an early trailer filled with such interesting individual frames of data. The first time time I watched it, I felt like I'd just uncovered the renown library at ancient Alexandria.
That was really insightful. Thank you.
I think speculation is the best part. And the process you guys use to find this information out really is quite cool.
And the trailer was quite shocking. With how secretive they kept this Challnege I figured that they wouldn't show a preview until it was time to start airing. Why do you think it was advertised now?

It's only speculation because I've not had an opportunity to talk to friends inside MTV, but I think it was as rush job based on the great idea of someone important at MTV. (I hope she doesn't hate me for thinking this.) The best challenge interest they could have in one place at one time was the RW season finale. That is the right place to do it, if the challenge is indeed being rushed for a September showing. I understand the marketing concept, and what we are doing at vevmo should be a part of their viral marketing plan;, but, I just think the trailer execution was flawed. An A for the idea and timing, a C+ for content, and an A+ for giving a **** about your audience.
Wait I think I'm on to something here. The cast have to basically learn how to survive, by building huts, and getting food, and they will basically have to get the crates the plane drops, becuase they are full wilth supplies, meaning it is literally a survival game. Afterwards, we see the three or two guys wrestling, and I assume it's to be able to get a key. There's 8 people that need to get on a boat in the end, and get the to the other island. So that means on a challenge day everyone competes to be part of the top 8 and they will automatically get the keys. Now elimanation wise, the rest of the cast that don't have a key are at risk of losing. Am I at least close???

I see. Why did they rush it do you know? Were they just doing it because of the large live audience watching at the time, in order to hopefully gain ratings later?
I will admit it was a smart move.

We are all a little bit onto "something, " so keep at it. I suspect a few are also "on" something, but I didn't see a mandatory drug testing notice when I signed up here...

I agree! :clapping:
Wouldn't you all rather have a slow tease, where the bits of info just get better and better, rather than having it all drop into your lap at once and then it's over.....????
Something to think about I guess.

I love surprises. I want the info to come slow and one piece at a time.
It is actually more fun searching for the info and the saitisfaction of finding something out.

I agree with you I utterly hate surprises....

I use to be terrible with that always searching around and I was pretty good at it but now I'm perfectly fine with surprises. Which is why I am in a spoiler thread obviously! Oh yeah I am foaming at the mouth for some new details and all that but I can wait...::evil glare::

Lazy does not win points here, sorry.
We have a thread specifically about this picture.
Bacchus posted info the early departees soon after they left, and with Dave, it was within minutes of him leaving Panama.
So you kill people and then do a girl dance? Right on :P
That was as close as I could come to doing it in drag... ;)
Anyway, Bacchus is in the resurrection business, not me. That is in the purview of the gods from high atop Mt. Olympus.

Ah that conjured a few unpleasant visions ...but anyway Dave probably did crack and I'm sure a few of the others as we have seen could breakdown during this thing. It's what makes this challenge interesting and will definitely keep me looking around for spoilers.

That intrigues me as well. I like the fact that they can now crack under all the pressure. I also believe Dave cracked. I do not see how you could become bored doing something like that, and he even said he lives for sports and athletic events.
So when are we going to start to hear spoilers? I like surprises but suspense is killing me...
There are already a great many spoilers in this and other challenge spoiler threads. The richest spoiler of all is the trailer for the challenge.
We have established that Derrick is 2nd from left. The person on the left looks like Kelly Anne, but I'm not quite sure...however I do believe its a girl. The person on the right is either Dan or Kenny...not sure who the guy in the water is but he's got short brown hair...my guess is Dunbar (believe me I've spent alot of time looking at him closely lol). I'm sorry I just don't see Bananas making it to the end of this one.
oops boy was I way behind...someone mentioned the person on the left was Ryan...he's got a small build so you may be right (the small build is what made me assume it was a girl).
Gawd I hate this challenge already!!
