I think I'm the only one who likes Johnny. CT being back really sucks. Unless he does something to get himself kicked off, I can't see him losing.
I think I'm the only one who likes Johnny.
I am not sure what happened with Johnny, but can only assume that he was the beneficiary of better edits in the past and finally he got the cut he deserved. I doubt there was a major personality shift.

But I think a combination of getting kicked off early in two previous challenges, along with being in a ****** situation (little food or comfort), and now considering himself a "top dog" somehow, all combined to bring out his worst qualities.

This challenge just soured me on him and for the first time I actually wanted him to not win. I agree that this whole situation though probably brought out his worse which is understandable, there aren't the normal challenge comforts. And in many ways he is a "top dog" on the Island which is a position he really wasn't before.
OMG CORAL?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??? Count me in baby. It looks like they are making up for the dreadful cast that was The Island.
I 100% agree.
ok. why are they bringing all those contestants from the Duel, to the Duel 2???? why dont they bring new ones that have not competed in the Duel, like from RW: Hollywood, and Sydney...not CT, Evan, Aneese (who i love), Brad (which i don't hate) i mean they already experienced the Duel, is time for new ones to experience it.
A lot of Hollywood candidates were unavailable. We're lucky we got even 2. xD

It seems that whenever a sequel to a previous challenge concept is done (i.e BOTS 2, Inferno 2 & 3, Gauntlet 2 & 3, and now Duel 2), BMP tries to get some percentage (like 1/4 or 1/5 or so) of the people who were on the original concept challenge or on one of the previous sequels of the same concept challenge. Like for BOTS 2, they had Veronica, Ruthie, Anessa, Rachel, Genesis, Ayanna, Mark, and Eric from the first BOTS. For Inferno 2, they had Veronica, Julie, Mike, Abram, Darrell, and CT, all of whom appeared on the first Inferno. Inferno 3 had Timmy (I1), Abram (I1 &2), Ace (I1), and Tonya (I2). Gauntlet 2 had Montana, Katie, and Alton. I think that challenge didn't have as many returnees because one of the teams was a team of rookies who had only done one challenge before or none. Gauntlet 3 had Coral (G1), Katie (G1 & 2), Jillian (G2), Beth (G2), and Brad (G2). Once again, just as in Gauntlet 2, this one didn't have as many returnees because of the rookies think (Fresh Meat didn't exist during any of the prior Gauntlet challenges), but it was close to past trends in percentage of returnees on the new sequel. If they ever do the Gauntlet again (I personally think it and the Inferno should be retired), I hope they don't do a Vets vs. Rookies thing at all. And Duel 2 is reportedly slated to have these people: Anessa, Diem, Paula, Robin, Brad, CT, Evan, and Eric. That stuff was off the top of my head, so I could have possibly forgotten about some people in my listing of who returned.
You give the people at BMP way too much credit.
:lol2: Something about this is too funny. Although I see what she means or is trying to say, but I don't think they deliberately try to put the same people.
:lol2: Something about this is too funny. Although I see what he means or is trying to say, but I don't think they deliberately try to put the same people.
I'm a "she." But my screen name is gender neutral, so I understand. You know, in typing that I really did actually think about the fact that it could very much be quite coincidental that some portion of the people who show up on sequel challenges did the previous installment of the concept challenge. But sometimes it's kind of more fun for me, not being on a production or insider loop, to think that they possibly have some sort of strategy in planning these things. Of course the fact that there are a lot of serial challengers makes it easy to have a good portion of the cast from a previous challenge appear on the latest one. Perhaps the producers and casting crew should have a focus group or a consultant panel of fans past and present to give them some ideas or direction for future shows. It's fun to analyze things, and we might help them think about some things they never thought about.
As long as it doesn't end up like Viewer's Revenge. *shudder*

I honestly think it is cooincidental, but it is kinda nice to see someone like Aneesa and Brad back somewhere where they had flourished before. I would really, really enjoy this season, if they brought back the Inner Circle, but with a different twist, like the top male and female are safe, and the bottom two males and females must fight to stay.
I would really, really enjoy this season, if they brought back the Inner Circle, but with a different twist, like the top male and female are safe, and the bottom two males and females must fight to stay.
LOL no offense, but seriously...that would make the game far too easy and fair. BMP would never do it like that; that makes it far too hard to manipulate the game and create drama. I, personally, love that idea.
As long as it doesn't end up like Viewer's Revenge. *shudder*
Oh, nothing like that. I agree! Just a panel of fans in the planning stages of challenges. In the research stage. Nothing to do with voting for people or having an interactive format. I liked the Inner Circle as well, but it seems to have that it would require that they actually make more individual missions, something that has been lacking overall the past several challenges. Too many team based missions or missions in which anyone can look good as long as they can stay on an object, etc. I also agree that they don't want it because there is seemingly more drama without it. It's not so clear who to vote out without the points. There was still drama with the Inner Circle, though, especially with the women. This kind of goes along with Dartagnan's idea. What I'd like to see for The Duel 2 is, if they are going to use similar rules (which I don't know if they will or not), would be for them to have a certain number of elimination rounds and then have the remaining people (maybe like six guys and six girls) start to compete in missions that test individual strengths, and the two people with the lowest scores or times have to go against each other in an (on gender based days). That will give this competition more of a real competitive feel (as long as the missions are decent). Of course there could be some sort of twist or LifeSaver or something to make it more interesting, if they don't consider simple competition interesting.

I like the idea, I would much rather see the weaker people going first, like Brooke or Shauvon, although I LOVE Brooke, and let it get down to the really competitive girls, but who care. I love the Inner Circle concept all together.

Battle of the Sexes, which is arguably one of the best Challenges, had the Inner Circle, but still caused huge drama. The Inner Circle concept is gold. I like the idea of one big mission including both male and females, such as lets say, hanging onto a bar, and the three girls and three guys that last the longest will be in the Inner Circle, and the two that win get the reward. Then they pick the person they want in battle, and from there that person picks who they want to duel. If not that idea, I would rather have the same idea for the picking of a person to be safe, but instead, do not include the opposite gender. For example: Tori wins. She picks Katie who picks Coral and so on.
It might be interesting to see some fairly simple mission start off the season, and with each mission they get progressively harder. And the missions can range in strength, agility, intelligence, endurance, etc. It would be kind of subjective as to what's easier and what's hard. That's why I think it's good to have different categories that the missions fall in. It would be embarrassing if you were a good competitor and you had trouble in a simpler mission as well. But I think most likely the weaker people would get weeded out first, although sometimes you can make a simple mistake and you would be out. But then that's what the elimination round if for as well - you could save yourself.
Those are all very good ideas. But the missions in general have gotten so rehashed and boring. They're just too lazy to come up with good ideas anymore. I mean, Ankle Breaker and Force Field? They were like the same freakin' Gauntlet. And it'd be nice to give brains a chance again, like in BOTS2, I recall them playing a word scramble/charade type of mission.

I like the whole idea. Cystic, I agree that missions now are becoming a lot more boring, although I do find the Island's face-offs very interesting. Smarts being more incorporated would be nice, but the last time they had a charade/silence/spelling mission somebody got smacked.
I agree. I know a lot of people don't care about the missions, or some people think no one cares about the missions, but I do. I really like to see who is going to put on a great performance. It's part of a good challenge for me. I feel like since Inferno 2 (and to some degree BOTS2 - too many team missions), the missions haven't been as great or fun to watch overall. I really wish they'd put more thought into them. Not everything has to be super physical - I love physical missions, but I also have loved things like Sidekick Showdown from Battle of the Seasons and simple (in concept) missions like sitting on a huge block of ice (although it's probably good they don't do those anymore after some castmembers complained of frostbite).

I just think they need to get more innovative, and creative with thier missions, and stop using such cookie-cutter missions. I actually loved that block of ice mission. It was a great test of endurance, and I like missions more based towards endurance such as the ice sitting, The Rack, the punching bag mission, etc. For the Duel 2, I am really hoping that the Vets make an alliance, or somewhat band together this time.
I also loved the punching bag mission. It was something anyone could try to do, and it kind of tested endurance and was just the type of mission that the challenges were known for in the past. Overall, from what I can remember, I think I preferred the first Inferno's missions the best. That and the first Gauntlet.

I have a feeling this time around Katie will do extremely well, because I do know sh said she wants to be prepared this time around.
I think if the rules are the same or similar to what they were last time, Katie is really in the best position of everyone because she has so many people who she's friends with or friendly with. So even if she wasn't the best competitor, I think she would be OK. And it looks like she has closer ties to more guys that any other girl there, from what I've seen or read in the past and current times. I do think there is going to need to be some coordination of the veterans to make sure majority of them will last long, but I think they have a good chance. I think there are some people who have done challenges for years and weren't too close to each other or were in different circles or they had some past tension. For example, Katie and Rachel (though that was way in the past), or Coral and Robin (again, in the past and they were friendly at the Awards Bash). And if the veterans succeed in making sure most of their big group are still there, I think it will be interesting to see how they will make decisions or split up. Coral is friends with Katie, but she also has been friends with Rachel. How close is Ruthie to some of these guys? I remember someone joking (Derrick?) that Landon seemed to have a crush on her. I was watching some of Gauntlet 2 the other day, and he definitely seemed to respect her as a competitor and he joked that next time they'd have to be on the same team. I think Mark likes her as well. Robin - would she feel more loyalty to Brad or Dan or Mark? Would she make sure to tie herself to the big vet alliance while allying with some of the newer people as well and also to people like CT and Evan? Will CT and Evan round up the Gauntlet 3 girls they kept around (Diem, Robin, Paula)? And would they try to round up the new people as well? CT and Evan - if a lot of the cast didn't want them around, it could be hard to get rid of them because they are good competitors who have a great chance of winning the missions and saving themselves. Very interesting things to think about. Perhaps it would be better if the rules change from the last time. I think the Inferno is the only challenge to keep the same rules, though they changed slightly from the first Inferno challenge to the second one.

That is what I find so interesting about this Challenge, the fact that within this Challenge lies a lot of old ties and bonds, but now those people now have new bonds. Will Rachel lean more towards Jenn or her old friend Coral? Will Coral and Katie team up? Will Robin be more with Dan or Brad? If Dunbar and Evan don't get along who will Paula chose even though I don't care? How about CT and Diem? Possibilities are endless. I will try to make a rundown of each player in a bit.

Does anyone think that coral and evan will make an alliance because of fresh meat. I think that would be interesting. because Evan has not done many challanges with most of these old vets unlike coral who has done challanges with the rookies and the vets. so she could go either way

Most likely Coral will be PO'd at Evan from G3. She might be over it but not enough to align herself with him.
