That's a really good idea. I would honestly be very interested to see that. But i think the cast would have a lot of trouble with the language barrier.
I remember seeing a news report a few years back about MTV looking for a property in Royal Oak (Michigan, about half an hour away from here), specifically for a Real World season.
I doubt that the Report was anything more than hype, but it would be a nice location to film from.

LoL They'd probably put the cast up in Royal Oak and call it The Real World: Detroit. :sly:
Was there ever a season where someone has made it onto the show in the city they lived in. For example, like someone from Las Vegas making it on the Las Vegas season?

Melissa from The Real World: Miami was from Miami. (In the first episode she got picked up from her own house and drove to the RW house.)
And Mohamed I believe (From wayyyy back in San Francisco) was from there. I could be wrong about him....but I know it's happened before.
I wonder what a RW Amsterdam would be like. We would actually have the cast openly high
**** that be a bad thing we already have alcohol issues and all that stuff in the real world seasons now.........lol imagine if the cast was able to smoke to get high lol lol lol I bet all the vets be like what the freak how come we didnt get that lolol

LoL it would never work, Jonlu....If the cast could get high, they might actually get along!

Some of the first season people may not have been exactly from NYC, but they'd been living there for the most part. I think Julie was the only one new to the area.
Having locals makes a season more interesting. I'm surprised no one French was on RW: Paris and there were no Australian castmates in Sydney.
Weren't some of the RW London cast from London as well? Or at least from England.
The closest thing to a local person being in a more recent city I can think of is Jose from RW Key West being from Florida. He was going to school at FSU, but I think he was from Sunrise (not sure about that part)? Still, not actually from Key West, but he was someone who was living in the state.

Sharon or Jacinda were from London.
LoL only sometimes, Portland is about a 4 hr drive from here. But LM is much closer!
Portland is about 45 minutes from me, and Dart it is a big bustling party city! Actually it is huge. Bacchus is right about not much of it being able to be shown ;)
I think it would be perfect, and with OPD and I as spies we could get into the RW house flashing our vevmo hand signs!!!!

I kow it was a huge city, but party wise, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I might just be hip to the Portland location.

Well, it is the heroin capital of the west coast. :wink2:

Really? Well isn't that just the leading place for the Real World to go to?
Really B? I've never heard that!
I saw a MSNBC special on it a few years back. Also talked about how all the disheartened kids from rural areas in the northwest seem to congregate there and that the dealers had decided to make H really cheap so they could get them hooked and keep them supplied. Basically they went with a quantity operation to keep down costs. ;)
BTW: Portland has some great bands. Dandy Warhols, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, etc.

Sharon and Neil were from England (not sure if it was London specifically or not), Lars was from Germany, and Jacinda's Australian.
The Real World London cast and home town:
Kat Ogden, Yelm, WA
Neil Forrester, Keynsham, England
Jay Frank, Portland, Oregon
Mike Johnson, St. Louis, MO
Lars Schlichting, Berlin, Germany
Jacinda Barrett, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Sharon Gitau, Essex, England

Thank you, V1. Also, is it true this is the most unforgettable season/cast. I heard they barely managed to show up on the radar at the 1995 reunion.
Well to film something like the real world you have to have a house and a permit to film etc...ATl was suppose to be I believe season 16 and at last minute once they could not receive the permit they moved it to Austin...

IIRC, That's not entirely true but it did happen in the case of Detroit. They were going to film in royal oaks in detroit i think but something happened and they moved it to Denver.
I'm honestly surprised they haven't done Real World: The Hamptons yet. As long as they film it from April to September, there will be plenty of clubs for them to go to. And we all know there are TONS of Mansions to pick from.

My husbands entire fathers side of family lives in South Hampton. We actually had a conversation when we were visiting in Sept about why they never did one there! I think it could be the best RW house EVER

I think you meant "forgettable." But it was hard for them to be part of the reunion when 1) their season just ended and 2) they were only shown during the last five minutes of it.
Regardless of what the majority thinks, I thought London was a decent season, from the episodes I'd seen. I just like the idea of having an international group of people in a season of RW.

Yeah, I live here now and in the summer, it's club city. Plus, like you said, there isn't any shortage of HUGE houses out here.
