Funny to see Eric Nies still has that jump rope

Haha I remember the original pitch for this show and it was quite differentttttt. But I'm glad Eric Nies is hopping on it.

I heard he is going to be on that show--which is airing on VH1. Is this true or just a rumor?

I wish Eric would cut his hair. It looks horrible on him.

I've been in the house- that's definitely it. :) They changed a few minor details but everything else is pretty much the same. (they had celebrity mug shots hanging on the wall in RW20 and in this show they hung up cast head shots.)

It was kind of a no-brainer to use the Hollywood house since it is on one of the CBS lots and had not been used for anything else since "Hollywood."

Am I wrong, or is Eric always barefoot? I seem to remember that from the RW reunion, but I'm not sure.

Me and my sister were watching it her first reaction was: What the hell happened to Eric Nies? I wonder what fallout with MTV was, considering battle of the sexes2 was the last challenge he did and it wasn't that long ago.

With all of those former teen idols from the 80's/90's? Eric Nies is on there and lets just say he is more................................. spiritual :wacko2: If you didnt catch it, they are rerunning the hell out of the first episode. /channels the non judgement side of me.

No middle of the road for Mr. Nies... one of those people who are really, really, really into whatever they're doing at the time; and he's all-in on the spirituality thing.

Eric acted like he hasn't been on MTV in forever. Wasn't battle of the sexes 2 in 2004? That is not that long ago.

I just saw the first episode yesterday and the new one today. Eric is even more "out there" than I thought. I don't think he's crazy or anything, just eccentric and really trying not to be materialistic to the point it actually seems to make him a more difficult person to deal with, which is probably not what he's going for. I caught a big glimpse of that during the RW Awards Bash. Even slight hints of it during BOTS2, but not in a weird way, besides the jump rope thing. But I didn't think he was that far out. I thought the deal with his hair was weird in tonight's recent episode. He pretty much said he hadn't washed his hair or blown it out in a very long time. Washing your hair is not difficult. Even the most natural and easy going people wash their hair every now and then. So that was odd to me. But even odder is the fact that his hair looks lighter now than it did during the RW Awards Bash, and it looked shorter from the first episode of Confessions of a Teen Idol compared to the bash. It also looks straighter, IMO. So he must have done some kind of styling to his hair not too long ago. I also think he does care some about his looks still. And the styling part of the episode was weird. Some of the pieces the stylist picked out were very basic things - not too trendy at all, IMO, but he acted like the clothes were the most happening threads ever. It just seems he tries too hard to be that simplistic, nature loving, non shallow guy. I do think in some ways him changing the way he lives - cutting out the drinking and excess partying, eating more healthy, trying to be a litte more simplistic, getting in touch with his spiritual side, etc, has been good for him. But some of it just seems to be overdone to me. I think he needs to find a balance between the peaceful free spirit wilderness hippie person and the materialistic shallow worldly person.

There is an entire culture of "natural/organic" products that he may be using that are not labeled as "shampoo." The focus group reaction to Eric was not much different than that from other RW veterans at the RW Awards Bash. Most though him to be a bit of an oddity rather than just "Eric Nies."

I caught this episode yesterday, and I am quite happy that Christopher Atkins seems to be faring well. He still seems like a genuinely good guy that wants to get back into the game, and I think he could do a good job. It was touching to watch the focus groups comments on him. RICHARD!!!! (Blue Lagoon reference....love that movie)

Eric Nies is arrogant. I don't think he's 'spiritual' in the least, I think he's just weird fanatical in his 'naturale' lifestyle. Did he walk into that store with no shoes on and stand at the counter eating (chewing nastily with his mout open)? I woulda kindly asked him to leave the store, BUT seeing as he's been on reality tv many times before, he knows exactly what to do to get that camera time. And his hair, it's long like that and shaggy in the front to cover his hugely receding hairline

But if he has used organic/natural products on his hair, why couldn't he just have said that after making the not using shampoo comment? As for the people commenting on his severed ties with MTV due to his manager, I'm thinking he meant with MTV directly. He will always be a RWer and therefore someone eligible for the challenges. It's a BMP thing to cast him as well, and he is sharing the spotlight with a bunch of other cast members instead of being a focal point. But looking outside of RW, I think perhaps he can't get jobs in which he has to directly appeal to the network. So I took what he said as no more MTV centered jobs like The Grind, no more workout videos for MTV, no VJ jobs, or anything else of the sort. That's just my guess. I view the challenge thing as different from those other jobs he had when he was an MTV staple.

There was one infamous bus tour during which someone is still owed thousands of dollars. Thus, I'm reasonably confident that Eric was referring to a specific individual and not to BMP or MTV, which has nothing to do with the business end of the Real World or the Challenges. MTV just contracts with BMP to provide content.

But he blames this manager for having ruined his relationship with MTV many, many years ago. And to that some people were saying that his MTV relationship must not have been too ruined since he has been on the channel doing challenges. I was just pointing out that I guessed there was a difference between him getting to do a challenge since it's a show BMP is over and it just gets aired on MTV, versus Eric getting jobs like MTV's The Grind or other things in which he is an individual doing something for the network. [/B] [/quote] well, thank you for that I'm not a producer so this did help (some, I can imagine being the clerk and being grossed and annoyed still lol) but the scenario of how it's put together made me laugh still And it doesn't change my opinion of him either
