Brooklyn was a serious season, you didn't watch the whole season so how would you know?
It had a couple of serious moments but it wasn't a serious season. I didn't watch it when it was airing but I have watched the episodes since then...

Ryan getting called back to war, Sarah talking about getting molested, Katelynn dealing with being transgendered, JD and his issues, and the rest of them having career goals and following through with them, yes it was a serious season. You may have not liked it, but don't say it wasn't a serious season.
Ryan getting called back to war goes down in the books as one of the most compelling episodes of RW ever. If that aint serious, don't know what is.

I agree, I loved the Brooklyn season because it was REAL. You can't compare Brooklyn to any other season. And to say that it wasn't a "serious" season, that's ridiculous.
If you don't think it's a serious season, then I want to know what was not serious about it, because Sarah dealing with her father, Katelynn adjusting to her new body as a woman, Ryan getting called back to war... I don't think you could've missed any of that. Not to mention this season WAS NOT bogged down by drunken fights, hooking-up, partying and STUPID drama.
The only immature thing about Brooklyn was the fighting about cleaning and boys vs. girls (which was kind of funny at first, the gettysburg episode was hilarious). That whole boys vs. girls thing is in almost every season and challenge now so ha, it started a trend.
Regardless, I'll take fighting over the dishes any day over 5 episodes of fighting over a castmember thats not even on the show.
Please BMP, learn from your mistakes, this season doesn't live up to the hype of the original one (where it most likely won't) it will be a huge letdown. I cannot deal with another Cancun, Hollywood wouldn't be so bad though (that is if were going by recent trends).
I agree -- I wish there was more of a balance in the casting -- I agree with you 100% on that statement.
For RW24, there were several people in our group that said they liked both Brooklyn and Cancun and that Brooklyn was too serious and Cancun was too over the top. But the casting director only selected the 2 people at the table who liked Cancun and who, honestly, annoyed me.
I hung around after the casting call and watched which people came out with additional paperwork. There was definitely a strong trend among the type of people coming out. The people did not 'look' interesting or balanced -- there were a lot of muscular guys with skin heads, thin grungy trouble-maker looking guys. I didn't see any females come out with extra paperwork so I can't speak to that. There was even a kinda interesting VERY PRETTY Asian girl in our group and she didn't even get paperwork -- then again, she also said she was a Brooklyn person and did not enjoy Cancun.
My observations were very limited as I was only there for a couple of hours. But I do know what I saw was VERY different than DC casting.
Them alternating between "serious" seasons and "party" seasons is so lame. It's like they heard the critics complaining that the show was too trashy so they justified it by having a "serious" season every other season. Hey BMP here's a novel idea, try casting the 8 most interesting people from casting that year & not the partiers or serious types for any particular season. This show is just getting ridiculous now.
I think they are filming at the moment. Anyway I agree with Seannn if you are true fan you should just be happy it's still on (: and not complain about the location
I'm a student at Tulane and a big fan of the Real World so I'm very excited to hear this! Any other ideas for possible locations of the house? And if it supposed to be a "party" season then where do you think the cast members will be going to party it up?
How is it that someone hasn't found the house location yet? We know that they will start filming sometime mid-Jan to beginning of Feb. The house is definitely already selected and they are in the process of making renovations right now -- have to be in order to be on time to begin production.
So where is this house? Dreams, I know you know something...haha...you always do! Give us some hints here so we can start searching.

We have lives :D
Feel free to do some of your own research.
It doesn't matter where the location is. If the cast are a bunch of partiers, they will party. If they are given a situation as in helping kids or rebuilding houses, they will do that. No matter what, they will be real people showing their real lives which is what the show is really about; bound to have fun and drama. I'm looking forward to learning about the castmates before I make such negative speculations!

Wait...was that directed at me? lol. I haven't said anything negative about this cast...lol. I just want to know what the house looks like.

V's a little bit further from NOLA than he was from DC...he doesn't know anything.
You'd be better off asking dream.
What is New Orleans going to be like?
Hollywood- people wanted be famous
Cancun- people partying
DC- people and politics
New Orleans-???
People who like to help, I think.

Didn't mean to be directed towards anyone in particular, just stating my opinion lol. Sorry if it came off that way.
I think the season will be about helping and people's different levels of activism. Such as locally and globally. They will probably have someone who opposes helping or activism and maybe someone who went threw a situation in which involved the helping of others such as a hurricane like Katrina.
Confirmed in New Orleans.

Someone find the house haha
I love how everyone is crediting the NY Post for being the first to break the news when the Post clearly says that they got their information from Vevmo.

They just can't read. We forgive them because we know we are specifically the reason MTV had to put out this press release before they wanted to do so...
Cheers to another victory from the trenches!
Edit: Although maybe we should point out to the The Times-Picayune, that The Post was just repeating what they read here? ;)

I actually doubt that. They always tend to send out a Press Release before the season starts taping.
I actually doubt that. They always tend to send out a Press Release before the season starts taping.
They "always" send out a press release when everyone already knows where it is and at that point they really don't have a choice.
With Cancun, they were already filming before they released it because no one knew it was there...
(I think THR broke the story, and the press release came out subsequently.)
Update: Yup, MTV came out with a press release two days later...
My point is, they like to keep these things as quiet as possible for as long as possible. It makes taping that much easier (RE: TRW: DC.)
