BTW, I was glad to see the guy that played Ben was the guy from the Fox series Reunion that was cancelled years ago. Anybody remember that? Good show, I was ****** when they cancelled it.
Woah what, Isobel is Elena's biological mother? I missed that was that a spoiler or in the episodes? I missed the last 20m of last week and the first 20m of this week so I could be really behind. It could be that one of Katherine's siblings had a kid and that's where the connection/resemblence comes from.
Insider I'm thinking it could either be that he knew she was a descendent of Katherine or he just was drawn to her because of the resemblence. But if he did know she was a descendent it seems like he would've paid more attention to Alaric and remembered him. And also, after all he's gone through with the vervain, why would Damon be so dumb as to not think that maybe Alaric had some vervain on him and couldn't be influenced?
I really like Caroline and Matt, though it sucks that relationship wise Jeremy and Bonnie are getting left on the fringes again. I liked the new girl I didn't want her to be a vampire.

Near the beginning of the episode, Elena was questioning Jenna. So Jenna told her the truth and said her mom's name was Isobel and she had Elena when she was 16. Then at the end when Alaric told Jenna his wife's name, it looks like she's wondering if its the same Isobel.
I wasn't surprised at all when Anna turned out to be a vampire. I had that vibe last week when I saw her ring.
That guy that played Ben also starred in Never Back Down. I was kind of surprised he was a vampire. I guess all these vampires are coming for the tomb.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was wondering why she had that look on her face when Alaric mentioned his wife's name.
Yeah there are all sorts of twists in this that are different from the book which I like.

That's Sean Farris, I was really excited to see him come on the show.
This was the best episode so far. I love that they give you the answers to the questions in a timely manner, but those answers only make you have more questions. I also love the flashback episodes, Nina is beautiful as Katherine.
Favorite quote, Damon to Stefan while he was in bed with Elena" Relax if I see something I haven't seen before, I'll throw a dollar at it!" ****
I think Elena is starting to really care about Damon in a friendly way, and vice versa. It was really sad to see that he was hurt by her lying to him.
Finding out all this backstory only makes me want to see more, I really want to see how Damon and Stefan were turned. Especially after they already have Katherine in holding now. Also great backstory with Anna and her mother pearl.
I am really curious to find out if they ever get this tomb opened!!!

Well, in the books Katherine and the boys fed off of each other enough to complete the change but they had to die first. Well after Katherine dies they get into a fight and end up killing each other which completes the transformation.
Anna and Pearl were not in the books so I am not sure where that story line is going, but it has me very interested.
I agree LM, this was one of the best episodes!! I like how everything played out. So much answers, still yet more questions to be answers..."when were the brothers turned, and is Isobel still alive?" This show only gets more exciting, can't wait to see what happens in the "winter finale" next week.
Here's the tvguide.com synopsis:
Episode Synopsis: Stefan, Damon, Elena and Bonnie attempt to open the mysterious tomb that they believe has confined Katherine for the past 145 years and are surprised by what they discover. Meanwhile, Jeremy and Anna agree to meet in the woods for a party, but he doesn't know she has an ulterior motive for coming.
Here's the extended preview for next episode and a preview from the producers, which I found interesting.

at first i was a bit iffy on the whole Vampire Diaries, but ive started to watch it faithfully and im starting to love it. Last weeks episode made me truly fall in love. I love how they have appearences of some well known actors, not really famous, but i recognized them.
Ben was from the show reunion and life as we know it, he looks a **** of a lot like Tom cruise.
Ana was on nickelodeons unfabulous and icarly on the look alike episode.
But i wonder what happens to Bonnie, shes my new obsession lol.
I thought it was mentioned in an earlier epsiode that they were trying to save Katherine, and got shot in the process. They both had vampire bood in them so therefore, they became vampires.
They wasnt showed on the last episode....
I know, but I could of sworn Damon said to Elena in one of the earlier episodes..like back when the show first aired. She didn't know they were vamps then but what he said, alluded to it.
I don't watch the CW unless VD or 90210 is on. Have there been any previews for the newest episode?
You are amazing! Thanks boo.
Interesting article for you VD lovers who can't wait for March 25th to get here. The producers tease that they "will go out with a bang" for the season finale which is supposed to feature cliffhangers and about seven to nine "teases".

I am disappointed that Katherina Graham will be gone for 3 episodes but now i really cant wait until she comes back and her new attitude. But i'm psyched for this episode as well.
I heard they are going out with and bang so they can continue from where they left off when they return for season 2. Its killing me to think what 9 cliffhangers can be...I'm going to start speculating big time in my brain!
They aren't even finished filming the season yet the stars don't even know what are they cliffhangers yet. They are going to film a flashback episode tomorrow.
Here is the synopsis for episode 16, "There goes the neighborhood".
A NEW START — Anna (Malese Jow) brings a surprising guest along when she pays a visit to Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
