Amazing Race 16: Ep 11 - They Don't Even Understand Their Own Language
The final four teams continue in Shanghai, where they struggle with the language barrier. Mike and Louie attempt to catch up and secure their spot in the final 3, and teams have to sort through thousands of Chinese stamps and hundreds of golden Buddhas. Models are supposed to be attractive, right? So what does Brent actually do?
People are saying "negative comments" about Caitlin? Clearly she is talking about those without maps in The Iraq and The South Africa. Here in The New England, we only have "nice" things to say.
Like, such as?
LOL. I totally lost it there. Nice comment.
Ballsy strategy, brothers...
Dan and Jordan really suck. Two hours doing nothing?
Ballsy strategy, brothers...
The better strategy would have been to be two hours ahead, but being they couldn't pull that off maybe this is the only way to go.
What's up with all the counting challenges?
"This is a good task to show everyone that she's got something upstairs." Beeeeeecause she can count?
Models are supposed to be attractive, right? So what does Brent actually do?
Hand and foot model obviously.
I understand language frustration, but you can't be mad at someone in their own country for not knowing English. It would be one thing if this was Hong Kong, but it is Shanghai. Why didn't the brothers work their own call to the translation service rather than depend on their competitors?
I don't know what it is about Brent, but he reminds me of that bully from the Disney skateboarding movie. Look, same vapid stare and everything.
You can't hold it? What are you 4?
"A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do." You're right Brent. We girls don't pee.
"A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do." You're right Brent. We girls don't pee.
Hey! He did have to go and she was being a bit callous in my honest opinion. The good news is they probably have hours and hours on the two trailing teams so I doubt it makes a difference to take a 10 minute bathroom break.
Wow nice ***** joke.
Wow nice ***** joke.
What are you talking about? That was FRICKING HILARIOUS.
****, he is tall.
What are you talking about? That was FRICKING HILARIOUS.
No, I saw that comming from a mile away. They got 1st. Wow.
I thought that man was on stilts.
I must have missed the ***** joke.
Oh thank God.
At least we'll get one episode without hearing "come on baby" every two seconds.
I don't know what it is about Brent, but he reminds me of that bully from the Disney skateboarding movie. Look, same vapid stare and everything.
That's it!!!! I kept thinking he reminded me of someone and I couldn't place it!!!!
That's it!!!! I kept thinking he reminded me of someone and I couldn't place it!!!!
Haha...it took me a while too. At first I was thinking Spike from Little Giants (same guy) but the hair didn't match up. And he definitely didn't look like him when he was on Beauty and the Geek. So thank you, Lord Google :D
I'm still kind of trying to wrap my head around the brother's "strategy". Yes, waiting for another team is smart...when neither of you are in last. But that speed bump took all of about 5 minutes (not what they were expecting, I'm sure, and I'm still wondering why that was even a speed bump in the first place) and they were right back in it. A bad cab driver or a long red light could have completely screwed them. And in a city like Shanghai where they KNOW there is a language barrier? Not smart. And now they've got to be at least 2 hours behind [strike]Val from Brink![/strike] Brent and Caite and the cowboys. Of course, I'm assuming that the flight to the last city will scrunch all 3 teams back together so of course they'll be right back in it (since it does show the cowboys and the brothers doing a task at the same time). Maybe they were banking on that...still, not a very good strategy.
Yeah, the brothers are a lock for third place in this thing. I feel bad for the cops because the brothers would still be looking for that bridge today had they not helped them. Having a friendship/alliance is one thing, but having your hand held and led through every task is another. I almost got the feeling at times that the cops were the brothers dad or uncle the way they were guiding them throughout the episode.
