Episode 3 Ratings Real World: Back to New Orleans - 1.705 million viewers - 1.2/2 HH - 0.9/3 A18-49 - 1.8/6 W18-34
Nice week. Season highs in viewers, households (traditional ratings) and the female demo. The female demo is up almost 70% from the premiere. Might I be even so bold to predict they'll increase next week as well? If they run that @$$-Cigarette/toothbrush-pee promo a couple times during the premiere of Teen Mom they will. Heck, we might see 2 million viewers this year.
This makes me happy, very happy indeed :D

Looks like our little 18 year old show can still pull in some ratings. Hoping we get to the 2 million mark at some point this season, which would greatly help the chances of a new renewal contract. An MTV press release would also be nice to point out the ratings increase from the premiere...
Can they carry these rating increases into the next challenge? That would be great!
Not a huge increase, but I'm glad ti didn't go down. There are significantly more reruns this week, which may help. I think getting above 2 million may be possible this season. I bet the episode where Ryan calls the police draws a decent audience.

Wow awesome comeback RW:NO2!!!! This might just revive the whole series....this is actually one of the better seasons!!!
That's far out. And Iey agree maybe they could carry over into the challenge but they are two different shows.
Definitely are - I ended up getting back into both through the challenges - I caught some re-run once and I was re-hooked. Maybe it will help some :)

I hope ratings went up! I'm not going to hold my breath on that one lol
Hopefully people anticipated the Ryan Vs Preston match this latest episode.
Episode 4 Ratings Real World: Back to New Orleans - 1.738 million viewers - 1.2/2 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 2.0/7 W18-34
The law of diminishing returns. At least we're on a steady incline.
Okay, I know some people expected a huge incline, but that's still good.
I had my hopes up. I was expecting at least 1.9 million viewers. Hopefully next week can pass that 1.8 million mark. As long as it keeps increasing I will be happy. This is a very good season and deserves to do well in the ratings.
I think it's most telling that the show went up in the 2 important demos. That's more important than overall viewership. The overall viewership looks good on paper and good publicity for the show and MTV, but what the advertisers care about, and will ultimately determine if the show gets renewed, are the demos.

I'm just saying, but I don't doubt that The Real World will get renewed for another few seasons. I can't remember if they renew one season per year or if it's usually a handful of seasons when it comes time for renewal, but whatever the case, I'm SO sure that this current season will not be the last ;)

I'm suprise it even increased! This season is performing better than the last two, which is great news for the Real World franchise. I wonder if it will hit 2 million this season. They are also doing better in the target demo. They also have a ton of re-runs. I hope MTV realize the more time it gets played, the more viewers the show gets.
Good news. I don't know if its gonna keep bumping up significantly or not; I would say no based on trends, intuition, and seasonality, but with Teen Mom and Jersey Shore back, the whole network should see a bump, and with the cops coming, it might bump even more. I predict ratings to hold next week - 1.7-1.8mil viewers, 1.0 in the demo. This is gonna be a hard week to predict... Nice that it set or ties season highs in everything; also nice that over 75% of viewers are in The Demo (a 1.0 A18-45 is ~1.32 million people). The quantity of repeats allows the other viewings to factor into renewal discussions. 9 repeats are on the schedule for this week including those that have already aired (I'm almost positive that there were DC weeks that weren't rerun at all). A bunch of those are in good time slots (4PM, 8PM, 11PM, 12AM), which is a sign MTV believes in this season.

MTV typically renews shows 1 season at a time, but The Real World has been getting multi-season renewals for a while now.

I doubt they will drop the show.
I think the ratings are doing good for a show thats in the summer. Most people don't watch TV in the summer so therefor they probably didn't see the ads for it or were busy doing something else.
Compared to the challenge ratings, RW is kicking butt!

Numbers should be up within the hour. Don't expect anything monstrous; the weather last night was pretty much clutch everywhere. I'm predicting a slight decrease from last week. I wonder what kind of ratings MTV could get if they picked a night, like Tuesday, and put the new Teen Mom at 8, the new RW at 9, and the new Jersey Shore at 10. I bet they'd crush what they're doing now.

Episode 5 Ratings Real World: Back to New Orleans - 1.750 million viewers - 1.2/2 HH - 1.0/3 A18-49 - 1.9/6 W18-34 Yet another season high in viewers. Last year by this time Cancun was trending downwards.
This season is ten times better than Cancun, so I at least expect better ratings than that season. :D
I'm gonna come out and say that this is the best season since Key West. It has the perfect amount of drama, ***, partying, and real life problems.
