That's because she looks like she outweighs everyone by about 30-40 pounds.
I just spit out my drink. This thread is hilarious!
That's because she looks like she outweighs everyone by about 30-40 pounds.
I think you mean 300-400 pounds. :D I'm sorry that was mean.
^She would probably be eliminated immediately for smacking someone anyway...
Well, it could be worse...way worse !! They could add the Jersey Shore cast in the Challenges !! I bet you would like that !!
Now this I will agree with you on.(no I don't want the Jersey Shore Cast anywhere NEAR the challenge.) Oh and Molds I want a Teddy Bear.
I would say Tori was picked first because of Camila who was doing the picking. I mean Camila picked Dunbar first. Dunbar. Who knows what was going through her head because I'm sure anyone else would have gone for someone completely different. I doubt she knew what she was doing.
According to the aftershow on the MTV site, Dunbar instructed Camila to pick Tori.
According to the aftershow on the MTV site, Dunbar instructed Camila to pick Tori.
Not a smart move. I know they're friends but a married couple on the same team? Anybody remember Chadwick and Holly?! It won't end well cause its a team within a team, they will never vote for each other. It sucks for the other people on the team.
It makes me wonder if the cast actually watches all the challenges beforehand like we do lol. I mean, it'd be common sense to pick people that you know will help win, not because they're cut. On the other hand, despite them being married, Brad and Tori are both strong so I think they'll be fine, but I do think it would definitely cause tension.
The fact that Abram was not one of the first 4 guys picked proves that half the people on the cast are clueless. Would anyone here pick anyone other than Abram first in that scenario? It seemed like such a no-brainer to me, and they picked Dunbar, Vinny, Johnny, and Brad over him. Only JaMarcus Russell was a worse #1 overall pick than Dummy Bear.
It shoulda went Abram, Derrick, Brad.
Camila said something on a daily clip (the hot tub one) about being attracted to Dunbar, so maybe that had something to do with it. And Vinny was picked by Shauvon because he won the race. But of course I would have picked Abram/Derrick/Brad first, just as you all would have.
Cara Maria hooks up with Abram?! Hmm I can see that. The previews made it look like she was hooking up with a girl because of all the hair but it did have me wondering what blonde girl did she hook up with. Now this pairing makes a lot more sense. Oh, and I would have picked Derrick first but I'm probably a little biased. Regardless, Abram, Derrick and Brad were definitely the best guys there and should have been the first three picked. I was also really surprised when Dunbar was the first pick. I would have definitely gone for Abram or Derrick (or Brad).

Silly girl.
Good first ep, I just kinda wish that the whole voting order was shown in full either on show or in the dailies.
This premiere was the best in a long while. It felt like the good ole challenge days for some reason (except for the FM and Spring Break people). It brought back some stuff that worked from the older seasons (the confessionals with cast members' seasons, cool missions, and intense physical elimination rounds), and at the same time it added some very welcomed fresh touches (secret ballot voting, 3 teams, and CT /Tina twist sometime during the season). This premiere, like Emilee said, was just a taste of what's to come, and it definitely left me wanting more! Only downside was Teresa being even more annoying than usual and Derek and Emilee going home so soon :/ But all in all a good episode!
I agree with most. This challenge was one of the best in a long *** time. Although I still hate team challenges.
this thread is great. had me laughing :D btw, this episode was ok. I don't like Shavon tho, but I think we can count Laurel and her figh as just a drunken dumb war. Theresa on the other hand.... UGH!!!! her voice irks me. Plus, Laurel is a great competitor, but an epic fail as a drunk, no one cud be a more classic drunk than Katie or Tonya. :P Elimination round was good. Cud have been a bit more creative. Camila picking Dunbar first? Eww. Emilee being the first person to get sent home, and a captain... thats kinda pathetic. That preview for next episode was hilarious. Cara Maria: "This is an Abram mark" "we like to scratch and bite each other" WTH????????? hahahahaha lol.

It's not like she was made a captain because she won something.
Why do you think it's pathetic? It's not like she was made a captain because she won something.
Good point. lol. I guess i just expected her to not be first. Maybe i wanted to much. lol :D
Why do you think it's pathetic? It's not like she was made a captain because she won something.
Irony is..she became captain cause she lost something lol
Irony is..she became captain cause she lost something lol
I'm sure that's exactly what the producers were going for. "Instead of making the three strongest, quickest, hardest working people i nthe race be captains, lets get the ones who are the least athletic or packed way too much to have to choose the captains!" Definitely a positive switchup in my eyes. Just think, chances are if Shauvon, Emily, and Camila weren't the captains, they probably would've been last picked.
Technically, the Gulag was a match-up between "captains"...they sure didn't bill it that way, but either way a captain was going home. Honestly, considering the fact that they were last to the Gulag, and the first mission didn't really give us much to go off of, I think it was good that they were tested.
I think this can get better, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't amazing either. But seemingly every girl had a facebook status about it that I know so and that's their girl demographic(18 year old girls) but I hope towards the latter part of the season when the teams get shorter they show who everybody voted for and not just a few.

This would have been their one chance to pick weaker players first instead of last. They basically just defaulted themselves to being the weakest links instead of trying to mix up the traditional formulas.

However, I think it might be a little too risky...
If you picked a team of weak players, you'd just lose all the missions lol. If you picked all the good players, you'd win the missions so you wouldn't have to worry about going home too much. I think that's why a balanced team is best, if you're a moderate player, there's easier targets to throw in and you have strong players to help win the missions.

Dunbar, Vinny, and Johnny got picked over Abram, Derrick, and Brad. I'm still completely baffled by that. Also, for being the first girl picked on FM2, Cara Maria went way too low. I hated the fact that the 3 people who dragged *** got to pick the teams. Why even hold a race and give no reward to the people who got there first?
Well according to...I think the after show confessional. Some of them threw the race and let some people get ahead of them so the first 3 people aren't necessarily the fastest. (Plus the luggages plays a part.)
I think luggage played a big part in why Emilee and Camila were so low. Emilee had 180 extra lbs and Camila had some***** around 130 I think...

However, I think the point of having the weakest people pick was to mix it up. I think it's ridiculous too, but it gave them some amount of power. Not that it mattered when it came to voting for the Gulag. As for picking weak people--yeah, that works if you don't want to go home--and that's not even a sure thing, since you kind of proved yourself to be one of the weakest in order to be a captain, and the team can vote you in regardless. It also doesn't work so well if you want to actually win some money.
