The Amazing Race 17: Episode 5 - Tastes Like a Million Dollars
The teams race in Norway, where one vegetarian racer struggles to eat a Norwegian delicacy. The pairs also face their fear of heights when they dangle from a bridge. Good thing that Pats game didn't go into overtime or TAR would have started much later. 15mins off isn't too shabby.
I hope they step it up this week. I'm starting to drift... It is a combination of factors, including not really connecting with any of the teams, it being in painful SD and it feeling like every other season minus anything interesting actually happening. It is like they ordered a cookie cutter cast and started going through the motions.

Yeah I have been hanging on mostly because I like the show so much and I don't want to give up for the season but the tasks really need to get harder or more exciting to keep my interest.
The Gondola from ****! Well, it must have been if you are going to start crying when boarding it, lol.
It blows my mind how vegetarians think that doing a food-related challenge for either a Road Block or a Fast Forward is a good idea...
I'd make fun of them for their horrible attempted Norwegian pronunciations, but then I'd be a hypocrite. :D
Food challenge. This could be good. It is always a bit of a, um...gut check.
22 years with no meat. That is crazy. I'm really hoping they do it though because at this point they seem to be my favorite team.
It blows my mind how vegetarians think that doing a food-related challenge for either a Road Block or a Fast Forward is a good idea...
They read the clue pretty fast but I think it only said "Christmas ritual" so they probably thought dancing or something, whoops! They would be in a tough spot either way though since the normal task is a heights challenge and the other girl would be freaking out. I do not envy them because that sheeps head does not look appetizing.
I agree because if I see another "Sit on this ice chair for 10 minutes" I may turn my tv off.
Yeah that was a low point in Speed Bump history.
Who's ready for an arm workout?

I don't know if I would have gone for a Fast Forward if I was already in first place.
I don't know if I would have gone for a Fast Forward if I was already in first place.
Agreed. In this case, any real advantage you gain is wiped out as you know the next leg will involve air travel being the current one did not. Airports, of course being the great equalizer.
They did a lot better with the meat than I expected.
Hmm...Nick and Vicki will figure it out right away, won't they? Or will they make them do the entire challenge and then say "oh yeah I've got nothing for you"? At this point I would be perfectly content with either those two or the blondes going home. They both bother me.
I don't know if I would have gone for a Fast Forward if I was already in first place.
It's not like it's going to hurt you though. They were lucky that the other teams near them didn't try it, then they might have been in some trouble speed wise.
What does "tanken" mean?!?!
They are so stupid....
If you're almost positive that all the other teams went for the Fast Forward, why the heck would you even bother going for it if you're at the bottom of the pack? Are these two really that stupid that they don't know what "Fast Forward taken" means?
They are so stupid....
They just really have no filter. They just say whatever comes to mind, no thought process.
I really like the doctors. They are a breath of fresh air compared to some of the negativity the other teams bring.
I hate when team names rhyme.
I hate when team names rhyme.
The inane details don't bother me.
I didn't think the tattooed team could be more dumb than the "Where are the boats" moment, but apparently going for a fast forward that is guaranteed to be "taken" when you get there is a new level of dumb.
I hate it when there is a football game on in HD with 5.1 Dolby surround and the Quarterback is my number 1 fantasy player... Blah, picture in picture works for now, I guess. ;)

I am pretty sure that Chad has done 4 of the 5 road blocks thus far. That is going to screw them later down the line, if they make it that far.
