The Amazing Race 17: Episode 6 - Run, Babushka, Run
The race continues in St. Petersburg, Russia. The contestants have a hard time completing their creative detours before working a day in the fields of a potato farm.
Uh...I don't get it. What's with the pic?
Just the name reminds me of Run, Joey, Run :D Mine is running about 25 minutes late, which stinks but I'll manage.
Uh...I don't get it. What's with the pic?
It's been compressed into JPEG format? I'll try to get the TAR Camera crew RAW files next time and get a good lossless PNG for the episode picture. :D
I was just confused because the picture was originally of someone else ;)
I know not of what you speak!
I love this task already.
I would do the music detour in a heart beat, but I have an ear for that kind of stuff. The movie stuff just sounds like it would blind me...
I would do the music detour in a heart beat, but I have an ear for that kind of stuff. The movie stuff just sounds like it would blind me...
I think both tasks are cool, but the movie one is needle in the haystack vs. the musical one which requires a discerning ear.
I think the music one is difficult because even if they have two right, they won't know... I think the doctors have 1 and 2 but not 3 yet.
Looking for the words instead was a great idea for the movie task.
Hahaha, I love it when they use their hands to try and tell people what they're saying. They look so ridiculous.
Chad and Stephanie are really getting on my nerves. I hope they are the ones to go tonight.
I'm amazed that people still plant potatoes that way. Why not cut the row with a hoe. Drop the seed. Then place the manure, finally topping the rows with dirt, while cultivating the edges of the rows to form the mound? Nope. You must plant one potato eye at a time, I guess... Maybe I could move to some far flung place in Russia and become an agricultural advisor, paid in vodka! I would bring them groundbreaking 19th century task management technology.
I would do the music detour in a heart beat, but I have an ear for that kind of stuff. The movie stuff just sounds like it would blind me...
I think the music detour would give me a major headache. I would definitely choose the film one :D
I think the music detour would give me a major headache. I would definitely choose the film one
I second that, now that I have seen the many fall.
Obviously it's much more simple if you do the songs one at a time rather than all three at once...how did they not figure that out earlier?
Obviously it's much more simple if you do the songs one at a time rather than all three at once...how did they not figure that out earlier?
Well, they haven't really proven anything in the smarts category this whole season.
AMAZING prize this time around.
Best line so far by the Asian kid, "Hello beautiful ladies. I have your **** and potatoes."
Amerika, we friendship with you and your manly women!
Why God Why?
Two non-elimination legs so close together? Strange. I still hope they go home...them or Chad and Stephanie.
On another note - they must have been way behind. All the other teams checked in while the sun was up. Hopefully that means they'll be done for with the addition of a Speed Bump...but knowing how this is going, they'll probably all get caught up at the airport together.
Two non-elimination legs so close together? Strange. I still hope they go home...them or Chad and Stephanie.
I'm kind of getting sick of the way they have non-elimination rounds now. I wish they would go back to taking all their clothes and money. That was way more interesting than the Speed Bump. I really hope Chad and Stephanie are the next team to go, although I'm sure I wouldn't be disappointed if it were the tatted couple either.
I'm kind of getting sick of the way they have non-elimination rounds now.
I'm with you there, unless it is my team that gets saved! I remember a few seasons ago they said there were no non-elimination legs (which was a hoax.) I'd have to dig back into Vevmo history to find out how I felt about that then. This time around, they dropped two early which means they might even have a 3rd up their sleeve. All I know, is that this non-elimination leg was disappointing, much like the season. The trailing team is always so far behind that the only surprise that can be had is they are saved and in this case it was the team I liked least.
I liked this episode. I am happy Nick and Vicky didn't get eliminated. I liked them for some reason. Maybe it's my infatuation with tats... I am still rooting for Gary and Mallory. I like them. The road block was funny. And regarding the Music and Movies, I would do Music. The first thing I thought of was listen to one at a time... I have OCD so I am very organized to need to get everything right, so hearing 3 different songs might make my mind spin, although I do have a pretty good memory, but still one at a time was the way to go. Suprising no one did it that way.

I think any like for the tat team went down the drain when he went off on her during that one detour.
