I'm sorry..."Laurel is tall and people stare at her" does not strike me as a great reason to sympathize with her horrible behavior. There are people on these shows who have life experiences that are potentially far more painful sources of insecurity -- people who are multiracial, immigrants, abuse survivors, sexual assault survivors, transgender, gay or lesbian, former drug addicts, etc., and none of them have lashed out at other people the way Laurel has.
? :unknw:
Honestly, I'm having a hard time understanding how your post is a response to mine unless you were providing general commentary and happened to quote me to continue the conversation. I never said I sympathized with her horrible behavior as I don't condone it at all if you read some of my other posts. I said I sympathized with her feeling insecure because I have something in common with her and that I had a hard time disliking her. It wasn't even a positive or justifying comment...
Also, who are you to decide what sources of pain and insecurity in terms of life experiences are the worst? Being bullied and traumatized is being bullied and traumatized, no matter the source. What matters is the level of effect it has on your psyche. She lashes out in really negative ways, but how are you saying that none of these people lash out the way she does as if she's a monster? What about all the cast members who hit other cast members? I think physical violence is a whole other ball game.
I do not agree with CT's assessment that Laurel is a female version of him. If anything, Laurel is a female version of Ty.
She's gay?
edit: oh wait she was in a relationship with emily from DC right?
I do not agree with CT's assessment that Laurel is a female version of him. If anything, Laurel is a female version of Ty.

I mean that Laurel and Ty both lash out at people because they are consumed by unresolved insecurities. CT does not have such insecurities.
Well, if he knows himself and her better than we do (which most likely he does), and he made that assessment, then.... it may be true.
She said on the after show that she's 5'11, seem like she's taller than that ...
I am a 5'11 female too and a lot of people say I look shorter than my height. This is probably due to the fact that I'm not very skinny. I'm not very overweight either but I'm not skinny nor do I have long legs. Many other taller girls, including Laurel, have longer legs and are skinny or in shape for the most part. What I'm trying to get at is having long legs can give the illusion that you're taller than what you really are. Plus, like having being said before, all of the other girls are considerably shorter making Laurel look even taller when compared to them.
Laurel also throws Wes out of a room. And Wes had some harsh comments for her on Derrick's podcast. Maybe they all tie in together, maybe they are all separate instances, who knows.
I thought he was complimenting her when he was saying she has such an awesome personality but can be a total ***** sometimes. CM is still mad that Jen/Mandi never go in the jungle and I am guessing Wes defends Jen and helps keep her out???? And then maybe CM/Laurel start voting the other way and Wes might be the most vocal of the alliance, and on the 1st episode they had voice overs and Wes' voice was saying "she's horrible," "she doesnt deserve to be here" or something like that or I think Ev said the "she's horrible" cant remember, not sure if the voices were from older seasons though. I dont know all just speculation.

Or Mandi...?
Or Mandi...?
Yeah I meant defend Jen in the fight and yeah keep her out of the jungle also because of Mandi?? And I think the Paula/Laurel thing and kicking Wes out is on the same night because Laurel is wearing the same top or at least it looks like its the same one.
I love Laurel and her mouth. Jenn, Laurel and Sarah = new generation of Mean Girls, lol
Sarah? She is not a mean girl, she is just cocky and annoying.
It seems that you generally make unfounded absurd assumptions..
How am I making assumptions? When CT made his assessment that Laurel was a female version of himself, he had only known her for a few weeks.
And don't we all make assumptions when we watch these shows? You assumed that Laurel's atrocious attitude comes from the fact that she's had to suffer the oh-so-horrible indignity of a being tall (cry me a river). Maybe Laurel is a perfect little angel when she is off-camera, but at the end of the day, we are basing all of our conclusions on the evidence available to us: television footage and maybe a stray podcast or twitter posting. That's the whole point of an internet message board, isn't it?

They knew each other before Rivals aired.

Yeah, well living with someone for weeks AND seeing and hearing the same things we do holds more weight than just seeing and hearing the tv things. Not saying she's an angel, plus everyone is accountable for what they do (unless you're crazy) no matter what past situations lead you there. But with that said, CT and Laurel both lash out at people and well CT definitely had real life issues going on, and maybe Laurel did too, who knows. They're both viewed as bullies though, and disliked by some. That's some similarities.
Well I stand corrected about whether or not CT knew Laurel well.
But based on what I've seen, CT is on another level altogether from Laurel. Sure, they are great competitors and both have lashed out at people before, but CT just seems to have a drastically different mentality altogether, especially this season. CT has never had to say "When I'm on my A game, nobody can beat me" because he actions speak louder than words. Whenever Laurel toots her own horn, there is something disingenuous about what she says, almost as if she is trying to convince herself that it's true or trying desperately to convince others that it's true. Maybe one day Laurel will be where CT's at, but at the moment, it's hard to see them as equals.

I said it was an absurd assumption because CT said it and CT knows himself and Laurel better than you do. Obviously, there's no problems with making assumptions on a message board. I guess you are acknowledging that it was an assumption since you continued on your post by saying everyone makes assumptions on message boards after initially claiming you were not. By definition of assumption, you were indeed making an assumption because you do not know what goes on when the camera is not on. On the contrary, I was not.
Also, I'm just going to quote my prior post for you since you didn't seem to read it regarding my opinion on Laurel.

Nah, mean girls (Rachel, Veronica, Tina) were witty and made some valid points when they snap on people every now and then.
These new chicks are fans who finally made it on the show and are trying to be "mean girls" or the "queen Bs" of the challenges.

Laurel is naturally a mean girl when she snaps, it could be that she holds everything in, and when she is pushed to the edge, she snaps.
Side note: Emily Bailey, the original queen b.

And Failing at it too.:)
In her own words on Twitter "You think too much about what ppl are sayin about ya and you'll lose who you are. I'm not trying to explain anything. I'm just living it."
I don't think there is anything wrong with her looks. She could work on her manners, though. :wink2:
Laurel has to be the sweetest challenger ever.

I would love to know what Laurel is like outside the challenges. From reading about Cara Maria's positive opinions of her, I wonder if she is portrayed somewhat wrongly. Even if it isn't wrong all together, I do think that it could be exaggerated. Thoughts?
