As long as you win it doesn't matter if you are a rookie or a vet.
In the past it was a lot more difficult than it is now because there was the rookie initiation of being thrown into every single elimination round. Now people start throwing in their weak players if it is a team challenge because they saw what happens when you have a weak player in the final challenge on the Gauntlet 3.
True.
But then you have this "Rookies gotta pay their dues" garbage which rookies still get targeted because they have to "prove themselves" yet there are some Vets who get a free ride simply based on the fact that they've done an assload of these things despite them being pratically useless(Case in point: Jenn).
And it's a good statement by all of those girls to make it to the end on the challenge. I'm not saying Emily is high and above the rest, I'm saying making it to the end on your first challenge is impressive (just as it was for those other girls listed).
Ok, I can agree with this. Making it to the finals on your first challenge in impressive... I just don't understand why everyone is saying "Emily is the best after Ev and Laurel... she could beat Rachel!" and all that when she's done what many other girls have. I'm not saying she's weak, but I don't see the big fuss over her.... I mean Brittini did the same thing.
Beating Paula is a good win for her sure... but come on.. Aneesa beat Paula, I don't see anyone saying Aneesa is the best competitor, so I don't see that argument.
Emily is ok to me, she did well on her first challenge, props to her, but IMO she hasn't done anything that screams 'Top 10 competitor in challenge history.'
I think she is a pretty cool person, sure she isn't perfect, and she will have her down moments, but in the end it's how people perceive her. Personally I like her, she sort of reminds me of Hope Solo (don't yell at me Molds!) in both personality and appearance. Anyway... she was okay in Cutthroat, but if she ever goes to another challenge, I wanna see her perform to her best, I feel as though she took most of the challenge lightheartedly.
P.S. she gave Tori a bloody nose, does anybody remember that? Yeahh, the very Tori that Evelyn insists is a good athlete.
Emily did good on the missions as well. I don't understand why people are giving her a hard time but are saying how Mike and Leroy were amazing. Cutthroat was a much harder challenge than Rivals.

No it wasn't.
Mission wise, it wasn't as monotone as Rivals, but doesn't make it harder. Hanging upside down trying to pass vessels to your teammate is not exactly as athletic as trying to swim to a checkpoint. But that's just my opinion.
I just don't see what the biig fuss is over Emily, that's all.
From a lot of comments it seems people are sleeping on Emily. And it's really only because she didn't get a lot of camera time that they think she must be weak. Just because she didn't get a lot of camera time doesn't mean she wasn't kicking *** in those missions.
Say what you will, but I think anyone going up against her in a Duel or elimination round should be afraid. She's got the strength, size, athletic ability and INCREDIBLE atittude and mental zone going into those things. She's the total package and most of the girls are only good in one of those categories.

Yeah but she's done ONE challenge. That's not to say that Emily's bad, but that some want to wait and see her perform on another one before they claim her to be one of the best girls ever.
I love Emily even when she was on DC, she is hot. I hope to see her in one of the next two challenges. She will probably end up beating any of the girls who are allied with JEK.
I think a good way to summarize this entire discussion is, "Emily has the POTENTIAL to be an amazing competitor, but she needs to come back and prove herself before she can be considered one." Personally, I think she has what it takes to be considered up there with Rachel and Kelly Anne (not quite Laurel or Evelyn though).
What makes a girl good in challenges isn't how strong or smart she is. It is about how they do the challenges. Emily does always give it her all, I do also think Laurel/Evelyn are better at the moment, but Emily is probably behind that with Cooke, just guessing how Cooke would do, she would be kind of similar to Emily in my opinion. They're both pretty big and strong and not afraid to get dirty.
OF COURSE it matters what they had to do. That's what you look at when judging how good someone is at these things. I'm not saying Paula can't be beaten (she obviously WAS beat by Emily, duh). I'm arguing that Emily is a strong competitor - and beating Paula is a good win for her. Paula won the hardest final in the history of the show - by far - and yet you (and others) are saying she's weak. Makes no sense to me, but I digress. Obviously neither of us will be changing our minds on this.
Emily weighs a lot more than Paula...of course she was going to beat her in a pushing contest...I'm sure if you put Aneesa against little Jillian or Kelly Anne in a similar competition you would have a slaughter as well. That's not to take away from Emily's other feats but I don't think pushing around a girl that is clearly smaller than you is all that impressive.

So in the one challenge Emily has done, she's the 3rd best girl you've seen. And in the zero challenges that Cooke has done, she's the 4th best?
As far as Emily is concerned, it seems her reputation shared amongst the cast members eclipses what we as viewers have seen so far. If she had replaced Mandi as Jenn's partner on Rivals I think it would've made a killer final from a competitive standpoint even though Emily clearly likes Jenn and it would make no sense to partner the two together. Emily and Jenn vs Ev and Paula vs Laurel and Cara Maria would be anybody's game in my opinion.

I said I was guessing about their abilities.. And sorry I forgot Aneesa, she's 3rd.
Yeah hopefully Emily now realizes what it takes to win a final so she will work on endurance more.
I think she has potential to be a great competitor, just give her another challenge or two and then we will see whether she is good or not.
How so? We were talking about Emily's athletic skills.
A good majority of the posts had to do with Jenn, her endurance, the Rivals finale, Laurel and Cara Maria. The first off-topic post and any replies to it were all deleted.
Let me remind you to where this conversation ended up going:
Why do you think Mandi has good endurance? She was beaten by Cara Maria in a gulag 2-0 and she was the only girl outside of Carley on the FM2 trials that couldn't even complete the obstacle course. Carley DQed because she couldn't get over the wall but Mandi DQed because she was literally out of gas and could not even climb a rope. The Mandi we saw in Rivals could've been a completely different animal but what exactly did she do in the missions to prove that she was significantly improved over the previous Mandis or even better than the rest of the girls that were still around in Rivals? The one time we did get a good showing of her endurance was in her exile with Wes but it has been stated by several people that Wes carried her bag for the first half which was uphill. Whether or not that was completely true, I don't know, but I do remember her as one of the only girls who didn't have enough energy to finish an obstacle course.
Laurel/Cara Maria beat Jenn/Mandi with food poisoning. I know when I run or do anything long distance a simple lack of caloric intake or food choices can result in an underperformance so I can't even imagine what food poisoning would do especially only a night before a big event. I would take Emily over Mandi in an endurance race any day of the week so I do think that adding Emily to Jenn's team in the Rivals finale and taking the whole food poisoning variable out of the equation could've produced a relatively close match.
In that long-winded response, the first paragraph was entirely about how Mandi doesn't have good endurance, and there was one brief mention of Emily and it was only talking about how adding her to Jenn's team on Rivals would have made her better than if she had been paired with Mandi. That is not on topic.
