The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
All valid points are presented here. I think everyone will be interested in seeing how everything pans out on the show as CT and Diem's relationship (or lack there of) could go in two very different directions. I'm not expecting a big reconciliation, but I would like to see them get it together and pull out a win. It would be a shame for such a powerhouse of a team (personal opinion, not fact) to lose this challenge in the finals. This is also one of the few teams who had a long term relationship outside of the show. BMP obviously had to work with what they had, but a team like this is more interesting to me than a team of two people who hooked up once or twice when they were drunk.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Good trailer, looks like a good challenge thus far. I agree with the person who said there was a good mix of older and newer cast members. I'm just curious as to who the person is in the red? t-shirt screaming( I think) when they land into the water.
It is Rachel or Aneesa because their color is red
It was stated just minutes before that all the women wear red wetsuits in the water challenges. Could really be anyone.
It was stated just minutes before that all the women wear red wetsuits in the water challenges. Could really be anyone.
Oh haha just kidding my bad. Then I have no idea who that is.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I can't wait to see who wins and also who takes out Mark & Robin.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I think that it's okay for Aneesa and Rachel to be competing against M/F teams because I think people are just underestimating how athletic Rachel really is.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
It's a red wet suit. All of the women are wearing them.
Ah ok. I was just wondering if it would solve the Sarah/Vinny thing, but guess not! Will have to wait for that mystery to be solved.
I think that it's okay for Aneesa and Rachel to be competing against M/F teams because I think people are just underestimating how athletic Rachel really is.
Also because in earlier challenges, men competed against women all the time, and some eliminations have no physical contact in it, so I guess it should not be a problem maybe except in challenges where 1 partner sometimes has a tougher job than the other (and they put men to do that).

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Since there is no land under the north pole and the preview has them on what appeared to me to be a snow covered mountain ridge, I am assuming that was possibly filmed somewhere in the Andes.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
We see Sarah crying at the :47 mark in the trailer.
You know what happens when you assume...
Yes, I know....You take Jon Murray out, get him liquored up on Tequila, and make him re-edit the show to make it appear as if I am wrong. Sure it could be Alaska or Canada, Greenland, Iceland or any number of places, including the sound stage where they faked the moon landing, but there is still no land under the north pole until you hit the sea floor. The Andes would be the logical guess if they were heading south from the US to begin with.

A logical guess would be somewhere where dog sled racing is popular, like Alaska or Canada. Maybe even Greenland.

That would be too plain.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
So now that all this information is out, I'm curious about the Nate/Priscilla pairing. In the half-way preview for San Diego, they show Priscilla apparently wanting to hook up with Nate, but if I'm not mistaken, they didn't even show this during any of the actual episodes. Are they gonna make these two a couple based on that kiss in the first episode, or will they pull this out of their *****? Also, were Zach/Ashley not asked or did they decline since they'd probably make a WAY better pairing in terms of couples and competing, though I guess they're not "exes."
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I give Wes a lot of credit; every show he has ever done he has been into a elimination round multiple times except FM2. He has a 11-3 record counting this show. It's tough to make it to the end when you got to go in at least 5 times just to get to the end. Does he make himself a target? Yes but there's not many people in the history of the challenge that could go into 14 elimination rounds and only lose 3 times. Cohutta, Eve & Luke and Leroy & Naomi are his three loses, two of them came with a partner. He has only been defeated in a 1 on 1 elimination round 1 time on a game that heavily favored his opponent.

And if you look closely it kind of looks like he lets go of the stick after tackling Leroy, but its blurry as hell, so hopefully that elimination lasts longer than 5 seconds. EDIT: No it probably lasted longer than a few seconds, just saw the SD version of the trailer, had a few extra scenes but was shorter than the 1 online :/
Re: The Challenge: Open Thread
Looks like as I expected, Abram will be mean and difficult to Cara Maria. "You don't even come close to deserving me, now beat it!" Wow. Johnny and Camilla looked comfortable around each other. From twitter posts following Rivals, I thought they were beefing. But Johnny is smart enough to put that aside if it means doing well. They will be a strong team, I think.

Who the hell would want to be with Abram's disgusting self after what he did, ew. Anyway, I miss old Abram. As for Johnny and Camila, I agree. They are cute together.
Is it just me, or was Rachel not in the trailer?
I saw her a few times, but I watched the trailer about 20 times lol. She's in the background sitting on the drawer when Jasmine hits Tyrie.

And Priscilla was only shown once- and it was like, in the corner of the screen-.-
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
It looks much too cold to be the Andes. The Final Challenge was filmed in December meaning that it would be Summer in the Southern Hemisphere (where most of the Andes are).
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I'm still laughing at the people who thought it was Antartica. Poor Guin Guin. <_>
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I'm rooting for Johnny and Camilia. Johnny's been my favorite since I saw him on Key West so I do hope they do win but at the same time Diem really deserves a win and so does CT. I didn't see much of Johnny in the trailer? That's a suprise haha

Did they show a separate trailer at the reunion?
Did they show a separate trailer at the reunion?
Yes, it was a different trailer. It had some similarities though (similar intro, lots more of CT and Diem)
Yes, it was a different trailer. It had some similarities though (similar intro, lots more of CT and Diem)
Hopefully them being shown so much means they won, they deserve it more than anyone else based on history.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Did they show a separate trailer at the reunion?
Sort of, it was basically the same one, they added a few extra scenes, just Wes/Leroy wrestling and Diem says she broke up with CT because of her brain not her heart and CT says we're partners now. Not much new, it was only like 30 seconds long. They asked Nate/Priscilla about it and they say it was crazy and that there were a bunch of alliances, but what do they know they were barely there.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Yeah they aired a new teaser during the reunion but I don't know how much new stuff was shown.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
From the trailer they just showed, Wes vs Leroy looks very intense, kinda looks like Pole Wrestle between Wes and Derrick.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I see Nate/Priscilla in a elimination with Wes/Mandi, and I see Wes/Mandi in another with Leroy/Naomi.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I for 1 am very excited as to how the elimination process will go down.
I for 1 am very excited as to how the elimination process will go down.
I wanna see how Abe loses to Ty from the trailer it looks like hes beating him. Maybe its who eliminates the other faster and Emily beats Cara in a faster time idk cant wait to watch and find out though

But I cant think of any way that it can be fair, either way it looks like 1 partner will loose it for the other. Which is dumb but I guess its better than non physical eliminations.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Is there a link to the new teaser that aired tonight?

Is there any update on who has won? It's hard to tell becuase it says the Spiilers have been moved so i don't know if its been updated.

Molds13's brain is going to melt if she reads this, and what good is a catatonic Molds13 going to be to a clamoring public? Practice patience, or go to wikipedia for sporadic updates that are likely as useful as reading the graffiti scrawled on the side of a train car. That is my advice.
Maybe its a DQ (i.e.: CT in The Duel, Diem in The Duel 2)
I really wanna see the format of the eliminations how it works with both teamates, because clearly Abe > Ty and Emily > Cara Maria
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Straight from MTV.com. Some of them have dated. Some of them were in long-term relationships. Some of them have just hooked up. But they've gone their separate ways...until now. What happens when former lovers are reunited? That is the terrifying question that twenty-six competitors will be asking themselves this season during the most intense Challenge yet, Battle Of The Exes. Set against the exotic backdrop of the Dominican Republic, each former lover will be partnered with their ex -- as their one and only teammate for the entire game. In order to claim their share of a massive $300,000 prize, these brokenhearted exes must find a way to make their failed relationships succeed -- or at least until they cross the finish line. However, not every pair of exes will make it to the Finals to compete for a cut of the cash. Teams will do whatever it takes to avoid being sent into "The Dome" - a physically and mentally demanding elimination round. Here's how it works: after each challenge, the team that performs the worst will automatically be sent into the dreaded "Dome." And the team that performs the best will become the Power Couple. The Power Couple will be safe from elimination and have the unprecedented advantage of casting the one and only vote for a team to face off against the worst in "The Dome." No more alliances. No more bandwagon votes. The two unlucky teams will battle it out in "The Dome" for survival. The winners will remain in the game. The losers will be eliminated. Along the way, the past will come back to haunt these former couples. Some exes will struggle to deal with painful grudges and broken hearts that have never been mended. And, for some, old feelings of love will be reignited. The stakes have never been this high, emotions have never been this raw, and the competition has never been this fierce, as these ex-lovers put their hearts on the line and battle for their share of the winnings. In the end, the teams that make it to the Finals will be sent to a shocking location 4,000 miles away where they will compete in one of the most epic finales in Challenge history -- and only one pair of former lovers will be crowned champions of Battle Of The Exes.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Thanks for posting that El Scorcho. 4,000 miles from DR puts them right at the top of the Arctic Circle. Most likely Greenland or northwest Canada.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
That explains how Wes goes in so early (and possibly often). If I had to guess, I'd say CT and Diem took out Mark and Robin, but who knows about that one. With Emily/Ty facing Abram/Cara Maria, I don't have a clue how that match up could come about unless CT wins that day and puts the last 2 in.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
That's interesting, no wonder the rookies went home 1st. but its kind of the same thing, theres still alliances but now there will be no more lets get rid of the strongest team and there will be no mob majority vote. Bet every one will suck up to CT. Now it could have been whoever gets last they put them against Wes, or maybe he got last and they tried to help him out by giving him the weakest. And this concept would be awesome if it was a single player game.
