The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Leroy vs Wes looks like Wes vs Derrick part 2.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I'm glad to see MTV on the right track. I thought this challenge wasn't going to air till the Spring, but January is perfect since RW San Diego was a disappointment. Maybe we'll have to watch this challenge to find out who won.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Wikipedia indicates that Johnny and Camilla win, C.T. and Diem 2nd, and Ty and Emily 3rd.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Check again ;)
Within 24 hours there were changes to who won. Wikipedia isn't a reliable source, for fun I probably wouldve put CT and Diem won. I'd rather trust Molds on info like this.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Wikipedia isn't a reliable source.
Especially being most of the revisions were made by people posting in this thread...as usual. :wink2: (People seem to forget that their IP is logged - everywhere they go.) Unless a spoiler is tied to a good source, it is worthless. The cast was taken from Vevmo and the premiere date from MTV. Beyond that, anything that pops up there as the page is edited throughout the day is of no value.
Leroy vs Wes looks like Wes vs Derrick part 2.
How so? I don't see it.
I'm glad to see MTV on the right track.
How so? I don't see it.
It was on the trailer they showed during the RW San Diego reunion.
How so? I don't see it.
I think what jones was attempting to say with Wes vs Derrick part 2 is that they (and Mandi/Naomi) appear to be doing a very similar elimination to Pole Wrestle from Duel 1.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Here's a shot of what I believe should be the second challenge (from last night's trailer): Looks like they use the hook and swing on the pole to get them from step to step. That's Mark and Robin falling in, by the way. I'm not sure if they have to go both ways, or if they start on the outside and work their way toward land.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Yeah, it was definitely a pole wrestle. Here are my best screen shots: (feel free to delete/replace with better ones) The reunion is now online. It’s worth fast forwarding to the end to see the trailer. It gives a clearer picture of the eliminations and missions. Highlights for me: Cara Maria following Abram into the room crying (per usual): “What do you want from me!” Abram responding with “Get out of the way.” (Cannot wait to watch this train wreck) Diem telling Sarah: “I broke up with him with my head, not my heart.” (Geez, no wonder she’s spastic when it comes to anything CT, It’s rare that the heart catches up with the head) There’s also the prerequisite ambulance and "Jaz breaking something" scenes.

There was also one more with Leroy standing up and Wes laying down and Leroy picks him up trying to get the stick/pole/object out of his hand. That elimination is gonna be great to watch, I'm even excited for Naomi vs. Mandi.

But I would probably go with that. What ever teammate beats their opponent faster wins. But I would think that would be unfair cuz it seems like guys fighting over a rope would take way longer that girls fighting over a rope. The Pole Wrestle between Wes and Derrick took 20 minutes. The one between Aneesa and Paula took like 4 or 5.

Interesting Fact: This will be the first Challenge with Road Rules alum on it where none of them make the Final. Every other Challenge has had at least one, Rivals withstanding.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Format is up on mtv.com: "However, not every pair of exes will make it to the Finals to compete for a cut of the cash. Teams will do whatever it takes to avoid being sent into "The Dome" - a physically and mentally demanding elimination round. Here's how it works: after each challenge, the team that performs the worst will automatically be sent into the dreaded "Dome." And the team that performs the best will become the Power Couple. The Power Couple will be safe from elimination and have the unprecedented advantage of casting the one and only vote for a team to face off against the worst in "The Dome." No more alliances. No more bandwagon votes. The two unlucky teams will battle it out in "The Dome" for survival. The winners will remain in the game. The losers will be eliminated." Seems like faulty logic. The Power Couple can be in an alliance with other teams and agree to not vote for one another.

Therefore, they cannot make someone an "outsider" because that same person might throw you in.... I happen to be super interested in seeing this format because it is more like if you and your partner don't do well, you only have yourselves to blame. Sure, there will always be alliances but here you have more of a fair chance I think at least (you don't have to have a whole group of friends). The final sounds as though there will be only one monetary gift from "and only one pair of former lovers will be crowned champions of Battle Of The Exes" but I could be wrong. Also heard someone (maybe Jasmine) speaking about working hard for the $150,000. The challenge looks good actually. Hope it will do well.

"In the end, the teams that make it to the Finals will be sent to a shocking location 4,000 miles away where they will compete in one of the most epic finales in Challenge history -- and only one pair of former lovers will be crowned champions of Battle Of The Exes." Molds, Greenland and Iceland are both about 4,000 miles from DR. Does it seem like they went there?

Greenland is pretty sparsely populated. I would think the other two would be more likely to have both the logistical support at hand for all the equipment/crew and the medical facilities available that their insurance would presumably want to see readily in place in case something went wrong. Likewise I would rule out Alaska since BMP seems to avoid filming in the US like it's a plague.

What did Cara Maria mean by medical process? STD tests? if they did that that would be smart but I remember she said they dont make them take std tests.
What did Cara Maria mean by medical process? I assume MTV did not want Adam because he is so horrible about tweeting info since they seem to have no problem with the Jersey Shore people or some of the Teen Mom losers.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
In the Dome between Leroy & Naomi and Wes & Mandi, it looks like their fighting over a lowercase T looking thing. Anyway, does anyone know why Sarah is shown crying in both trailers.

The pics are up :P and dear god Johnny wore the stupid bananas shirt in his pics. @JEK & Wes yea but they were opposite sex teams now it looks like there are 4 people on 1 team??? Maybe they did it so we cant tell whose who in the trailers

Vinny put on some lbs. He should have left those in Vegas. Looking forward to the new show.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
I wonder if Johnny & Camila or CT & Diem ever see the "DOME". We know Ty & Emily went in at least once; if I had to guess I would say CT & Diem went in because I can see if Johnny, Mark, or Abe won a mission they would be the power couple and send CT in.
Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Cara Maria said on her formspring thing that BMP had Adam/Nany on their list but apparently MTV nixed them because they don't want Adam back so they were one team short of the number they wanted. Seems weird since Adam said something about it a few days before they left and they've found replacements before on shorter notice.
Its probably a lie or a joke. Adam probably didn't wanna come back so they are saving face.
Uhh, im pretty sure he would do anything to get on tv again. And he seemed pretty pissed off about being yanked from this challenge. MTV does not need him.
Its probably a lie or a joke. Adam probably didn't wanna come back so they are saving face.
Agreed with Jesses girl. I'm pretty sure Adam has one of those lifestyles back at home where he would leave for a challenge whenever he got a call because other than his clothing line, I don't think he has much going on, or has a big career job. I'm actually pissed that Adam & Nany aren't on here, I thought they would've been perfect for the show.

Re: The Challenge: Battle of the Exes - Spoiler Discussion
Its probably a lie or a joke. Adam probably didn't wanna come back so they are saving face.
It's neither a lie nor a joke. Put yourself in the shoes of the MTV VP who makes the final casting decision -- or used to -- until there was a serious law suit that caused your primary insurance carrier to pay a lot of attention to how things were being done. It's completely logical for the insurers and VIACOM attorneys to insist on additional rigor in how the show is cast, and in how the cast is told what is expected of them in terms of their behavior. If I were that decision maker, I'd look at the past reports from the Rivals and RW: Vegas exec producers and wonder if the risk was simply too high with Adam. If Cara Maria's account is accurate, and I have no reason to believe it is not, then I applaud MTV for doing the right thing this time, and hopefully in setting the stage for improved and clear behavioral expectations.

Not sure if you're trying to be though..haha Adam has a lot of groupies and him/Nany would be interesting to see and MTV probably knows that, but they seem to not want him for other reasons, even though I dont think he's the most crazy or dangerous dude there.
I guess I feel this way, dare I say, because I'm an Adam Royer fan. I can't help it.
Adam is certainly entitled to have fans and you have every right to be one. I don't doubt that he has a certain appeal to some, but risk management is one of the fundamental requirements of corporate management.
If Adam brought in ratings then theyd probably bring him back ala CT, but Adam is just a waist of space. Is that better
The trouble that CT brought to MTV came at a different time in the show's history. I believe that things have fundamentally changed in the casting of reality TV. I'm not sure that today a rehabilitation of CT would be possible as was done successfully two challenges ago.

I also think Adam is getting a bit of a raw deal since I assume he had to rearrange his life and prepare for this Challenge. Given the way the original cast bios for Vegas were written, sending this guy into Sin City where he would be getting VIP treatment and bottle service at the bars was like they planned his meltdown from the get go. I rewatched the Secrets Revealed for Brooklyn recently and found a lot of what the producers said as laughable when they talked about making sure the casts were not treated as celebrities.

Haha the cast photo looks funny, they should have spread out a bit, and they're all so damn pale! And omg Mark is huge, I thought Wes was a muscular guy but Mark looks 2x as big. Nate looks flabby and Vinny looks like a fat kid, didnt know Vinny was as tall as CT though.
