That one tweet about Alton/Trishelle wasn't enough, and the person that tweeted it seemed to stop tweeting afterwards. We need more.
The person that tweeted the Alton/Trishelle sighting is a college freshman. Do the math from an 18 yr old with no prior tweets about RW or the challenges back to their last appearance on MTV. 18 - X = too young to have her memory taken seriously. I seriously doubt the person would be able to pick Alton out of a crowd at an airport. And she never responded to twitter requests for when, where, why, etc... the confirming stuff. The report might be true, but it is not worthy of betting one's reputation on, imo.
UPDATE: The person in question protected her account tonight, so one can no longer see her history. She did reply to me but for the moment, I'll keep that tweet private in deference to my view on sourcing stated below and the forum's request that such information be provided to molds13.
I'm a big believer in two independent, unconnected sources unless the primary source is known to you, has a stellar track record, and is very deeply connected with cast, crew or network management. It is the simple principle of dual sourcing that has been the backbone of the Associated Press reporting policy for years.
And I sincerely hope that won't end up being what happens...
Fair enough. For obvious reasons I can't reveal how I'm being provided spoilers. But I understand my word doesn't mean much through an anonymous internet site. Hopefully once my spoilers are proven correct, I'll be more freely able to share what I know with fans on here.
Look at the official spoiler threads for recent challenges and you will find numerous people molds13 has credited for their contributions. An apology is in order, imo.
There are only a few ways you could receive the information you say you have. That the info seems unrelated to a particular cast member or grouping of cast members tells me a lot about your source and I have decades of experience at source-driven intelligence analysis. If I can figure out your source, so can MTV.
As someone who has been cast members' emergency contact on more one challenge, I personally object to spoilers that potentially compromise cast contracts and crew non-disclosure agreements. Clearly BMP has made a singular effort this season to keep the results from being easily known (no plan is foolproof), and I applaud them for taking a step recommended years ago.
If you take a little time to build a relationship with the moderators via PM as many others have done, you might find more acceptance. That said, if the moderators here receive unsolicited info from non-public sources, I'd hope that guiding principle would be to post the evidence and identify those identified without evidence along with the clear logic path that makes their departure likely (like having public sighting of three of four on a team). That looks to me to be the logic that can be seen in past official challenge spoilers threads, and I have no reason to believe it won't be the same this time.

Agreed. I admit I did panic for a bit at first, but the person looks less reliable the more you look at her tweets.
Austin home already . . . I like that, I was sure though that Lacey's stellar athletic ability would have carried them far.
I would think the Danny-Melinda drama would be a bigger hindrance to the team than Lacey's athleticism, or lack thereof.
I would think the Danny-Melinda drama would be a bigger hindrance to the team than Lacey's athleticism, or lack thereof.
That is a good factor as well. The only athletic thing that I saw Lacey do the whole time on her season was pick her arm up to talk to her boyfriend on the phone. She may wow us though, I could see her being good at puzzles.
Austin home already...I like that, I was sure though that Lacey's stellar athletic ability would have carried them far.
As well as Wes' "elite" political game and the fact that he's "a god amongst men" when he's in an elimination round. :p
You all seem to be forgetting that Melinda sucks too. Just look at Cutthroat when she was supposed to jump to the mattress and like walked off the cliff instead.
You all seem to be forgetting that Melinda sucks too. Just look at Cutthroat when she was supposed to jump to the mattress and like walked off the cliff instead.
That was mad funny. She tried to jump once, second guessed herself, tried again and did like a 180 in the air, That was priceless!
Also, with both Wes and Dummy Bear gone, Alton is the only past winner left. I REALLY like that :)
Camila is still there, unfortunately.
Camila is still there, unfortunately.
Camila's not my favorite but at least she's a good competitor and creates drama
I'm more annoyed that Cara Maria is still there than Camila....but to each their own
I really hope a Rookie team is getting them some eliminating these veterans. Austin and Sydney have probably the worst balanced team, in terms of athleticism overall (judging off prior seasons and assuming that Sydney was eliminated and not replaced). Interested mostly in what the final is going to look like. The finals have been stepping up in brutality, and with the bulk of the cast members never making it to a final - it's going to be a huge test.
I guess I'm one of the only disappointed ones. I didn't want Austin to win, but I did want to see them stick around for at least a few episodes. Oh well, I think I'm Team San Diego now...not entirely sure...

I am disappointed as well. I wanted Lacey to be this random powerhouse!

I absolutely love your gimmick.
I absolutely love your gimmick.
I am confused as to what his gimmick is. He knows a lot of the cast members. If you look at his twitter feed, you will see a lot of them tweet him occasionally.

I think we can gather from this that Dustin is still there. Hopefully this puts to rest the Alton/Trishelle rumored sightings.

You're not the only one. I would have liked to have seen Austin stick around for a little bit but because Wes was on that team I'm content seeing them leave.
I'd be rooting for SD if it wasn't for Frank...just watched some of the SD2 season because 4 of them are going to be a part of the show and he's so far beyond annoying it's not funny. Sam, Zach & Ashley I like--kind of like the Austin cast--I'll be rooting against them because of 1 person.
I'm team Cancun I guess...not many options for me.

I know I may not be that person but, I'm 18 and I could easily pick them out of a crowd and know exactly who they are. Don't let age affect judgement. In no way am I saying it's true I'm just stating a fact.
I'm actually happy that Austin is out. I love that season and the cast but I'm really glad we will get some more air time from the newbies without Wes interrupting.

But she really doesn't though.

Give me ANY instance where Melinda did anything "impressive" of the history of the challenge. I can name plenty of times where Melinda **** the bed and can't come up with a single time where she did anything useful.

While I do agree with you on Melinda, I can think of one instance, where she was very useful. Her, "if you can read this, drop your bags", puzzle she figured out on Fresh Meat one. She figured it out fast and helped them save lots of time, even though they still lost.

Josh, you are a known fan as evidenced by your comments in the forum. few they may yet be. I'd expect you to pick them out in a crowd. The person who tweeted an Alton and Trishelle sighting has no track record on twitter demonstrating any interest in MTV, fan forums, RW or the Challenges.
I don't discount age in this instance, but it is a variable that must be assessed when looking at the plausibility of the "sighting" along with the time of day, date, and location, coupled with equally plausible flight schedules for a return to the US, since the sighting was in the US. Frankly, I'd expect twitter sighting to be from a younger, mobile demographic since that is where the vast majority of users reside. A long time ago I used to do intelligence analysis for the USG. The methodology I use is pretty common -- but I'd acknowledge it is also the one that didn't discount the "weapons of mass destruction in Iraq" evidence.
I have an open mind, but, seriously, thanks for your cautionary comments. They are well received.
I am confused as to what his gimmick is. He knows a lot of the cast members. If you look at his twitter feed, you will see a lot of them tweet him occasionally.
I have no idea what he means either, but he is new here (though probably a lurker for longer), so I'd cut him some slack. It's not easy to come in here and go toe-to-toe with some of you, not knowing the lay of the land.
I have an open arms approach, even with his uninformed challenge to molds13. He's not the first to react that way. She reacted that way to me a few years ago when, as a mod, I gave her grief over an early posted comment.
Anyway, he can always PM me to tell me what the gimmick is. Heck, from his perspective, he might be right! ;)
I think there is an important lesson in that girl's tweet that some take for granted saying first I believed it based on her saying she met them, not that she just saw them. Unlike other places, Vevmo edits out their identity when they use people's tweets. Other places do not. I would imagine her now disappearing from twitter is an indication that she probably got a lot of unexpected attention and presumably some negative because of her sharing what should have been an interesting, positive moment in her life by meeting someone famous. While it is an assumption on my part, I think it would be reasonable to conclude that people impatient for answers or unhappy with what her tweet revealed, drove this poor girl into the dark for no good reason.
Not upset about Austin. They're all annoying *****es anyway... They should've had that one sexy guy with the dreads, on the team. But the longer Fresh Meat stays the worse it becomes. If Fresh Meat wins the entire challenge goes to ****... Even more so than it already has. At least Cara Maria is the silver lining in it all. :)

Wow, you must have a low tollerance for "*****es." :acute:
I can't imagine Lacey ever being a significant enough presence to even approach my "*****" threshold.
Your comments re deads and then FMers immediately thereafrter had my mind wandering toward the laughable thought of Mark Long in dreads.
