No I wanted Nany to win! Boo. Well I'm in shock about Brooklyn still being there. I can see Marie and Robb doing awesome so I'm happy about that. Johnny Bananas said this challenge is way, way different so I'm excited to find out how eliminations and everything work.
I recall someone saying that about The Island too and we see how that turned out :sadwalk: I never thought of Dev or Lacey as athletic types so this should be interesting if they are still around. Or maybe this challenge has a lot of puzzles and brain-type challenges. hmmmm

She was with either Wes or Danny right? What if it's like a survivor type thing and people vote off who they want with no elimination round, lol that would explain why some of the vets are gone, but god I hope it isn't something like that or anything Island related. That season sucked, half the people weren't even allowed to compete and most of the episodes were people just laying around. If it wasn't for Johnny, Ev and Kelly Anne that season wouldnt even be watchable.

This time, MTV told BMP to make the experience more like the old challenges: fun.
Wow, Cancun and Brooklyn must be killing it....somehow. There must be a lot of water challenges and JD's getting his inner dolphin on.
It's mainly Cancun and San Diego dominating. Though obviously Brooklyn is playing a smart game given they're still there.
I can't even tell if thats sarcasm or not, but I hope it isnt!
It isn't. I've been telling MTV for years that BMP's challenge exec producer was a total buzzkill and the cast was fed up with it. I'm told they finally decided they should listen to their cast members.
It isn't. I've been telling MTV for years that BMP's challenge exec producer was a total buzzkill and the cast was fed up with it. Like Inferno 1? Inferno 2? Duel 1? Rivals? etc.
I'm all for the challenges being more fun but I prefer the Duel 1, Inferno, Gauntlet 3 challenge era. I wouldn't want them to get ridiculous and make the eliminations something like who can eat the most cookies but I don't think a 2-day final where at least one person dies trying to finish it is necessary. Lol the Rivals puke fest was disturbing, no more of that.
If you had to guess then, at what difficulty level (as in pick an old season) would you expect the final to be? Like Inferno 1? Inferno 2? Duel 1? Rivals? etc.
I'm not inclined toward guessing. First, one must draw a distinction between what the cast calls "fun" and the nature of missions and elimination competitions. In a general sense, "fun" in this context refers mostly to the atmosphere of the the challenge "set." The cast wants to feel some clear separation between the events of the competition and their living environment. If it is intentional that there is no separation between the two, then they really are working for pennies per hour, and they are being manipulated 24/7 via gestapo-like tactics. That seriously is not fun for the cast or for the crew. I also think that over time it does a bad job of producing good TV, but that's my personal view as a producer. I think, based on what I've heard from a few people in the last year, that MTV has also come to the conclusion that they need not be the ESPN-Extreme Network. The demographic measurements don't support the kinds of finales seen in the last three seasons. It's also not in the best interests of the show's insurance underwriters to allow such brutally physical events to occur, because 1) MTV does not vet their events as does CBS for Survivor and The Amazing Race, and, 2) reality contracts have recently been shown not to be bullet proof. If cast members are really employees of MTV and not simply contractors for hire without liability, then the risk of some serious injury occurring to a cast member on an event not vetted by safety professionals may be higher that the prudent risk a conservative insurance underwriter is willing to take. From an insurance perspective, risk should be as close to zero as minimal as possible, given the potential award for damages that could accrue vs the premium paid. I can't remember the challenge on which it occurred, but there was once team challenge that had people running around trying to collect dollar bills or pesos that were flying around a field. It was funny watching people just be goof balls for once. It also allowed a player to through a competition by grabbing money and then later releasing it into the wind to help insure the vets lost to the rookies without other vets noticing the laughable duplicity. That mission was fun to watch, perhaps because it was my business partner who threw the mission.

They said whoever has the most money wins a lifeshield, but after the money was collected, they said "Now you have to properly count it" and they couldn't. Beth did throw that mission by miscounting, but she didn't really get much money anyway.

My desire for the show to be "fun" has less to do with the complexity of the risk. I just feel like the cast have been forced to create intensely fake drama to get their screentime when it used to be that being stupid and joking around would do that. I would rather see people laughing than screeching like banshees because somebody actually dared to make some otherwise meaningless comment about them to somebody else. Honestly I have never figured out why they would do that if they wanted to book appearances. I think more people than not would take a pass on somebody they saw being difficult to be around on TV. That said, I just hope we don't have to see anybody drinking donkey sperm.

I think it takes a really strong person to be able to eat disgusting **** and you dont have to be a muscle man to do that, that type of puking is ok, puking because you're exhausted isnt :P
No, not happening. The Island was not fun for the cast. I love it. I was actually getting sick of all the mindless drama on challenges, that what I watch RW for.
I would like to see missions where people can actually complete or at least where players can attempt to do even if they completely fail... This is not Road Rules X-treme you know. :boredom:

I'm team Vegas so it sucks she's gone, but atleast she has made it far. It is awesome if Cancun is still there. I bet Jonna will really make things happen on this challenge. She's like Trishelle in that she is always good tv.
Look, I'm no fan of JEK or CT, but the idea that anyone is or should be scared of another person on a challenge is simply absurd. It's only a TV show. If someone is that insecure, he or she should stay home.
ha ha! Let me clarify I don't mean scared as in shaking in their boots that he's going to beat them up or anything like that. Scared in terms of being intimidated by him enough to want to avoid an elimination round against him at any cost. Oh and go home Brooklyn. Also, I remember how fun the first Battle of the Sexes was. The challenges are more fun to watch when they are fun, not a prison.
:( Marie and Robb ugh Cancun needs to gtfo already.
:( Marie and Robb ugh Cancun needs to gtfo already.
I know :( this is such a bummer!! I'm glad they made it pretty far their first challenge though. Don't really know who to root for now, I like individual people but if they are paired with certain cast mates it's gonna suck. I hope CJ is with Jonna and if so I'd like them to win! Then Sam or Ashley and Zach.
I'm loving the underdogs dominating. I'm really proud of the Brooklyn and Cancun cast.
From the little I've seen of Marie and Robb, I really like them so I'm bummed they're out. I'm hoping that some of the people remaining are actually already eliminated but just haven't been found or confirmed officially, but that seems unlikely at this point haha.

Some people that one might assume are still there might just be laying low stateside already.

Also, consider that maybe this cast is smart enough to realize that you don't need to face the best competitors in the finale if you can manage the departures to keep the weakest people until the end, thus, improving you own odds of winning. As I look at the existing departure list, I'm drawn toward that possibility.

Maybe when it isn't hotter than the surface of the sun and there are some concrete details as to the format I'll think about it more clearly but right now I am hemorrhaging interest in this challenge.

And lol@Derek still being there
If that is so then its a cheap win. ...
Your banker won't give a s*** if it's cheap or very costly to you when he/she takes your check from BMP for deposit. Years from now only a very, very few completely obsessed fans will care.

Since so many people bend over backwards praising how JEK play the politics of the game like masters, I don't think that anyone winning with a different strategy is cheap. Whether a strong team goes home first or as the last eliminated, they are still going home defeated IMHO.
Perhaps some are no longer there but have not yet been seen or have not yet revealed themselves. .
I bet this is the case, I'm sure there are a couple of pairs that are out that arent discovered yet.

I just hope there are better missions and not a whole bunch of water ones/events.
