The Real World: St. Thomas - To Pee or Not to Pee

I found myself waiting for the point of the episode in this one. I got bored. I really want to love this season, the cast is great, I just think there is not enough drama for a reality show.
This episode was boring....That whole Swift/Latoya thing was silly. Swift really should've let someone pee on his foot. That would've made things a little bit more interesting.
Well at least watch next episode even if it is your last. Brandon goes crazy and starts breaking things. So it should be way better than this episode.
Wow, I guess I'm weird because this episode kept me laughing the whole way through. It was actually my favorite episode. Finally, it wasn't just the same old sae old relationship conflict. There was so much going on:

Toya and Swift's argument - Swift was being a cry-baby. It was ridiculous that, even when Toya swallowed her pride and took the blame (even though I don't think she really thought she was the guilty one), he wouldn't forgive her. That made no sense! It's not like she waited 3 weeks to apologize, it was 1 hour later, she needed to cool off.
Marie being a manipulator - loved it I was in awe when she made Brandon take the blame for the fish, that was brilliant
Swift being drunk at the doctor's
It made me like Toya a lot more
No Laura and Trey (I thought they were cool, but after 3 episodes, it was like "ok, let's see someone else")
Cherry on top: the Afterbuzz TV podcast was hilarious, just because Adam was being a ******** to Swift

I've been a supporter of this cast (and I still am, for the record), but I have to admit that it was pretty ridiculous that this episode was pretty much just one day's worth of events. They must really not have that much footage for this season... Also, I cannot be the only person to notice that they have shown the same clips of Latoya and Swift wrestling where Latoya is wearing the same clothes she had on in the first episode, right? Like literally in every episode. As I've said before in other threads, while this season is technically boring, I'm still kind of into it because I enjoy the cast and they seem like fun. I'm pretty easy when it comes to The Real World.
I am sure they do other things later in the season, but when production is seeing very early that the cast is heading in this direction, then production should get off their behinds and actually force the cast to at least go out and do things in the community, or visit places, or go on day adventures like parasailing, surfing, hiking, get a job---something other than sit around and chill. This is not the cast members' fault they were stuck on an island making it hard to get motivated to even go anywhere--field production should have done better but now have stuck the editors with nothing to work with.

Oh hey Trey, thanks for the clarification. Were you even BORN when that song came out?? :p
Oh hey Trey, thanks for the clarification. Were you even BORN when that song came out?? :p
LOL I was thinking the same thing. Not the "were you born yet?" thing but essentially like "Gee thanks Trey, never would have guessed..." I guess there are probably a lot of fans of TRW who wouldn't know that song, but still...
I have no idea why I watched that garbage last night, I'm out on this season. MTV should just stop showing new episodes and instead put episodes of boy meets world or something. I think everyone can agree that 2 episodes of bmw would be more entertaining than watching an entire episode of just 1 day that shouldn't have been more than 20 minutes (although swift at the doctors office was pretty funny). The only reason I watched this episode was to scout out these kids before some of them get the call up to the big leagues...the challenge. Now since i am the challenge god and this is the last time I'll ever talk about this rw season, I will now bestow upon you my everlasting covenant of predictions for how these miscreants will do on the challenges. Laura- will be on only 1 challenge, decent competitor, no storylines unless it involves trey Marie-2 challenges, might get in a verbal argument which will get her invited back for 1 more challenge, below average competitor Latoya-1 challenge will be 1 of the first to go and well never see her again Robb-3 challenges, good competitor, no storylines. Kinda like an mj garrett good competitor but extremely boring Trey-4 challenges, kinda see him as the next brad but I dont think he has the personality to get that far in the challenges, and I think he'll be the best competitor of this cast Swift-0 challenges. We don't need a poor mans brandon nelson on the challenge Brandon-0 challenges, hopefully never see him again
I still like this cast and am enjoying this season but that episode was pretty meh. I think Swift was just completely butthurt because LaToya didn't show she cared and fawned over him. He screwed himself and was looking for someone to blame. He tried to blame her instantly and when she left and didn't take care of him, he got all upset. Argument was sexual tension and pride. Swift was drunk as all hell and he let it all out. LaToya didn't want to seem like she was in the wrong and she wasn't letting him guilt trip her into submission. He could have been a little upset but he blew it up. Marie is a cold piece of work. Hopefully next week is better. I am noticing a serious lack of outside entertainment/adventures. Also, not seeing a lot of same sex bonding going on or friendships being made. They all seem friendly but no deep conversations or bonding scenes.
Also, Trey's comment about "not many men would let this go" or whatever he said was a joke. He's acting like he's making some grand gesture of forgiveness.
I liked this episode! I mean it and the rest aren't what I was hoping for from the Real World, but I didn't find myself bored waiting for the episode to end even if the majority was focused on that dumb prank. At least there was finally an argument haha and this episode made me conclude that Latoya is my favorite, hands down.
Ehh, wasnt a very good episode. The last couple havent been. I dont like any of the girls reallt which sucks. Robb and Brandon are the only roomates I find kind of interesting and like watching.

I mean, to each their own but...I personally find paint drying more interesting. :paint3:
This episode wasn't good at all. Swift and LaToya arguing was annoying. They both should have gotten over it because it wasn't that serious of a fight. I'm disappointed so far because I really thought this season was going to be like Las Vegas and bring the real world back. I still have some hope though. They need to just keep showing Marie and Robb because they are best and most hilarious people on the show.
I'm not going to lie to you: This was a ****ty week in reality TV. First, there is the fact that Big Ang, the "classy" ladies of Mama Drama, and Joseline of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta are all not in my living room because the suits from Viacom and DirecTV can't make a deal. Suits, get something done soon; I need these people in my life. Second, it seemed like every show in the GRTFL decided to mail it in this week. The Bachelorette was the let's-squeeze-another-episode-out-of-this-franchise "Men Tell All" snoozefest; the most exciting event on Real Housewives of New York City was a woman putting her face in a bidet; and the Real World cast is so boring that the producers centered this entire episode around a dead fish. Swifty (Real World, House) 14 points: The first scene of this episode is Marie the International Beer Smuggler and LaToya discovering a dead barracuda washed up on their private island's shore, and the last scene of the episode is the same dead barracuda washed up on their private island's shore. This Real World cast is so boring A DEAD BARRACUDA STOLE THE SHOW. As a matter of fact, this week's GRTFL Top Five is the Top Five Reasons That the Dead Barracuda Is More Interesting Than the Cast of the Real World, listed from "that seems like a stretch" to "he has a point there, that dead barracuda should probably have a spin-off": 5) The dead barracuda never misrepresented what neighborhood it came from. 4) You can't turn the current cast into "barracuda nuggets." 3) The current cast doesn't have a kick-***, American-flag-themed bumper sticker. 2) The dead barracuda is less likely to have communicable diseases. 1) Unlike, 29 percent of the cast, the dead barracuda doesn't have a tattoo that says "hakuna matata." Since not a single thing happened in this episode that wasn't dead-barracuda-related, I guess I'll tell you the Saga of the Dead Barracuda. Marie and LaToya found the thing on the beach and put it in the Rob With Two Bs and Swifty's shower, because having dead bodies where you bathe is hilarious. Then, fearing dead-barracuda-related retaliation, they decided to put it back in the sea. Swifty attempted to retrieve the dead barracuda; LaToya tried to stop him with a kayak paddle; Swifty stepped on a sea urchin and then yelled at LaToya (5 points) like a crazy person. Just to give you an idea of the caliber of human beings that we are dealing with here, remedies that were suggested for Swifty's sea urchin ailments were "drink a bottle of rum" and "have someone **** on it." I swear when they recommended ******* on his foot the dead barracuda giggled, rolled its eyes, and said, "This is the dumbest, worst-looking cast they've ever had." No one pissed on Swifty's foot, but he totally drank the entire bottle of rum anyway (9 points). Now inslopsicated, Swifty heads to the hospital, where the doctor tells him to "walk it off." On the way out of the hospital, they hit him up for $170, he realizes that he forgot his insurance card, and he does the drunken "I got this, dog" thing that drunken people love to do, explaining, "Can I say something? I studied this. I actually studied this. I specialized this. Let me handle my business like a man. I handle my business." There are few things in life more fun than the "let me handle this" drunken guy. In his defense, though, why is medical care the only industry in modern society where they provide the service or good before telling you how much it costs? Can someone explain this to me? When you go to a clothing store, a barbershop, a restaurant, anywhere where goods and services are sold, they list the prices right alongside what they provide. Why is that not the case at the hospital? How many times have you gone to the hospital, left, and then been mailed some insane bill two weeks later? I hope the president reads this column, says to himself, "This guy has a point," and calls me for advice on how to change the medical care industry. Without hesitating, I will exclaim, "I studied this. I actually studied this. I specialized in this. Let me handle my business like a man. I handle my business." LaToya (Real World, Kang), 5 points: During the Saga of the Dead Barracuda, LaToya scored five points for arguing with Swifty. That reminds me of one of the best parts of the Saga of the Dead Barracuda that I left out earlier. Marie the International Beer Smuggler, who put the dead barracuda in the shower, convinced Brandon that he did it while he was blackout-drunk and Brandon bought it hook, line, and sinker. How they stopped there is beyond me. Were I Brandon's roommate I wouldn't have said, "Last night, when you were drunk, you put a dead barracuda in the shower." I would have said, "Last night, when you were drunk, you put a dead barracuda in the shower because you wanted to clean it before sex."
via
Good to know. I was staring at a DirecTV logo where MTV should have been for the past hour listening to elevator music. It seems I got the preferable feed.
I'm telling you. Now all of a sudden the channels are back. The nerve...
So did I miss anything? Nah, probably not...
By reading the first couple of pages, I share the same attitude.

I really didn't want to waste an hour of my time on something that pathetic."
LOL I was thinking the same thing. Not the "were you born yet?" thing but essentially like "Gee thanks Trey, never would have guessed..." They are simply played out now anyway.
"But still nothing". I mean who the hell still listens to friggin' Nirvana? They are simply played out now anyway.
I imagine lots of people still listen to them.
I don't think bands really become played out, if anything I would say a specific style they usually use could be played out. The band would only be left behind if they reuse to update their sound. Me and my friends did a funny response to this episode, check it out.
"But still nothing". I mean who the hell still listens to friggin' Nirvana? They are simply played out now anyway.
Um I guess I'm "played out". But I'll take that over the mountains of fake programmed dance junk that prevails these days. Have fun.
"But still nothing". I mean who the hell still listens to friggin' Nirvana? They are simply played out now anyway.
I'm a huuuuuuuuge Nirvana fan. And I was only 2 months old when Kurt Cobain died. I'm sure he's rolling in his grave with how they tampered the title of the song. This episode wasn't so bad, not to me at least. I didn't finish watching it though, not because I thought it was bad, more so because I was too tired to watch it at almost 1 in the morning. MTV suckss when it comes to showing reruns of this show. Not just this season though, this has happened to all the seasons I've seen. They show reruns like once or twice a week, but usually at like a more reasonable time. The timing for reruns this season is just BS.

How is this season, any good? Or at lest is it better than San Diego? And what episodes were good in your opinion?
How is this season, any good? Or at lest is it better than San Diego? And what episodes were good in your opinion?
It depends on your season of good. Some really like it; others, not so much. Clearly this season has received very mixed reviews so far. Watch the first episode. If you like it, watch the next one. There isn't much to catch up on yet.
I can't even... :dash1:
Then don't. Don't take this the wrong way but respect the fact that not everybody shares your sentiments or wants to be in the box you put them in.
How is this season, any good? Or at lest is it better than San Diego? And what episodes were good in your opinion?
TBH it's still somewhat better than SD2, but let’s wait until the end of the season. It’s kind of declining in quality...I would say the first 2 episodes were the best and since then every episode becomes more boring and the cast more annoying.
I was enjoying the season before the DirectTv fiasco but it looks I'll never see 3-4, at least not on television.
So out of 3 episodes we have seen 2 full days and at least 3 days in one episode, I really hope things pick up.
