She's getting hate for fighting.. it makes perfect sense. I'm just saying a ton of fans are hypocrites acting like The Real World is Nickelodeon and fights don't happen. CT almost murdered Adam and now everyone loves him. And CT has been in MULTIPLE fights. But people are bashing Nia because she got into a fight & say she's a disgusting person and blah blah blah. In my opinion, people need to get OVER it. It's MTV for god's sake. If you don't like it turn it off. You expected this, it was all over the previews. You can dislike Nia if you want, but don't go around saying "She's a disgusting person because she got into a fight!! I've never seen something so horrible in my life!!" some of the commentors here are more overdramatic than Nia is herself. I'm not saying what she did was right. But I personally was entertained by it ;).
People are complaining because the show was never this trashy. When did you start watching the real world?
Clearly you need to re-watch the tape. Or you're just an Avery fan who can't get over the fact that Avery got whooped.
I'm not a "fan" of anyone on the cast. I just call it like I see it. Regardless of what my opinion is, the fact is she snuck up behind her and that's a coward move.
The shock is that the production company allowed this to go on when it was clear that Nia was looking to physically assault another cast member with a hair dryer (i.e. weapon). I think it is very lucky that there were not serious injuries as a result of this altercation.
Did you feel the same way when CT was chasing Adam around the court yard? And you're surprised there weren't any serious injuries as a result of a cat fight and some girl walking around with a hair dryer that was falling apart? Oh.
Have you seen a reality television show? I'm not trying to patronizing. I'm just not understanding your 'shock' at what took place on your tv screen.
I've worked inside reality TV since 1990, so, yes, I have seen a reality show or two, even produced them. I'm not shocked, because I've seen it coming to a long time, what I am is very sad that a show that was once such a powerful voice for social change is now just a bad joke. ~~ I'm old enough to have known Mary Ellis Bunim, the real creator of RW. I think she would be sickened by what her dream has become.
People are complaining because the show was never this trashy. When did you start watching the real world?
The Real World was never trashy? I'm sorry, what?
Did you feel the same way when CT was chasing Adam around the court yard?.
Yes. I have stated many times that he is an insurance liability. I don't think people that resolve to assault as a coping mechanism are mentally stable enough to be on television.
I've worked inside reality TV since 1990, so, yes, I have seen a reality show or two, even produced them. If it went back to that it would do great in the ratings. Not everything has to be jersey shore.
This Nia/Avery fight the trashiest thing MTV has ever shown! But, wait...
This is the trashiest thing MTV has ever shown! But, wait...
You keep bringing this up like everybody was saying "**** YEAH CT! BEAT THAT KID'S ***" when it aired. Nobody was condoning what he did. But he did that like 4 years ago. In 4 years nobody will care about what Nia did either.
Did one person defend the actions of CT in this thread? It was said of how scared production was of Ct. Production could've simply put an end to this fight. They wanted the drama.

One day it will bite them.
Anyway, love Averey. Hopefully Coral hosts the reunion. On to the challenge, please. ;_;
And remember that BMP also produces Bad Girls Club.. so.. i'm just sayin! Trashy BMP Television > Vh1 Trashy Television > CBS > ABC
Did one person defend the actions of CT in this thread? It was said of how scared production was of Ct. Production could've simply put an end to this fight. They wanted the drama.
My point wasn't about people defending it. The point is people going on about The Real World and MTV 'degrading' themselves and lowering their standards for showing this fight when in actuality there are plenty of knock-down, drag out fights that have occurred on this program. And if it's not actual physical violence, some of the most disgusting things have been said between cast members during fights. The core of The Real World has always been drama, and it has been for some time now. Which once again brings me back to my confusion as to why people are pretending to be shocked. Do we all just have selective memory or are we just actively trying to re-write history?
I do find it hilarious that Adam was INSTANTLY tossed from the challenge and was threatened that the police would be called on him if he didn't leave for like...wiping some dust off of Ty's nose when they have to sit and have a vote as to whether or not to toss Nia.
My point wasn't about people defending it. But once the fight got serious the producers and cameramen were trying to intervene...it didn't work because CT is an animal, but they were trying to stop it. I don't blame whoever edits the show for putting it on the air...I blame the numerous people there for not stopping it. Also...CT was sent home immediately...doesn't look like the same happens to Nia. So yeah...while this wasn't a great moment you're kind of comparing apples to oranges since people did try to step in.
But to be fair in CT's case, he was going through legitimate personal issues and was completely wasted at the time, as was Adam. Nia in this situation was completely sober and just being a *****. Nia's case is worse.

It doesn't matter either way. A fight is a fight. People on here just hate on Nia for the dumbest reasons.

The CT/Adam fight was like nothing I have ever seen. If I was production there was no way in **** I would attempt to stop CT. Like I said, the could've been stopped and wasn't. That's why people are surprised, or me at least anyway,
I do find it hilarious that Adam was INSTANTLY tossed from the challenge and was threatened that the police would be called on him if he didn't leave for like...wiping some dust off of Ty's nose when they have to sit and have a vote as to whether or not to toss Nia. On The Challenge there are 20+ cast members to follow around and track 24/7. There is producers, camera crew, and security everywhere. In the Real World there are 7 people all in 1 small house. Security isn't there because it isn't needed or expected. I AM shocked it wasn't stopped after Round 1, but then again they weren't prepared for it & the Camera guys job is to keep filming regardless what is going down. I think there was only 1 person there who tried to separate them and he's small than everyone in the house. In my opinion the houseguests should've tried to step in & stop it instead of sitting in the other room talking trash
Okay now this is just ridiculous. And how do you not know Nia is going through personal issues? It doesn't matter either way. A fight is a fight. People on here just hate on Nia for the dumbest reasons.
Personal issues my ***. CT was dealing with his brother getting murdered, if Nia had anything as bad as that she'd have been home at that point. I dislike Nia because she has proven time after time that she's a manipulative ***** who deserves no respect.
Personal issues my ***. CT was dealing with his brother getting murdered
And? That doesn't condone his actions anymore than Nia. CT is obviously a loose canon and Nia is someone that loves to stir up drama. They both were made for reality tv.
I was always horrified by the way CT brutalized Adam. Double standard doesn't apply here. That was even more disturbing because I thought he would kill the little guy. Violence is wrong. What bothers me the most about Nia is she will attack people with blow dryers and lamps. You can't go bashing people in the head with objects. That's crossing a line. According to Avery and Johnny, Nia also tried to get some rough guys from Portland to beat up Avery, Johnny, Jordan and the camera crew. I don't know if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me it it were considering what we've seen of Nia's character.
I watch BGC so I wasn't really that phased by any of these physical altercations. I do think that it should've ended after the first fight with Johnny.
I also want to say that I saw a fight on Bad Girls Club and which producers were actually stepping in when a girl tried to attack another girl with a vase or a lamp.
The sneak peek on MTV.com for next week has me rolling. Nia swears that Jordan was pushing her and makes it sound like he was helping Averey fight her - he clearly was doing his best to break up the ordeal and to stop the nonsense. The delusional compulsive lying has not stopped, ladies! #QewQew
I haven't began to read all the posts on this topic, but it seems like everyone's fixated on the fact that there was a fight. I guess some of us aren't that phased by it. I mean, there usually are no discussions to be had concerning fighting in BGC or Jersey Shore, but when it happens on The Real World it's a huge deal. At the end of the day, I was extremely entertained. Best night of Real World since Vegas 2. And though I don't condone the violence, it is TV and I was interested the whole time. And next week looks to be like even more fun. P.S. you all should talk about The **** They Should've Shown, too. It was pretty good!

Could be wrong though.

Regardless if you're an angry Javery fan who's mad that Nia beat them up. Or a Nia fan. We should all appreciate this episode instead of being SO negative.
