I figured but, I just wanted to make sure.
What is a Etockholder?
I hope you were not expecting a response from me? :beaten: What really gets me is the absence of any response to my suggestion that there might something off with a press release that extolls the ratings beginning at age 12 of a show which promotes violence, the consumption of alcohol, and "hookups" among its cast.
Guys, when it comes to ratings, there is noting fair. There are only winners and losers. This is all about making money for etockholders at the end of the day. The is not some ******* social experiment.
We know that but just for a forum discussion I think the Rivals views are higher than they appear just by the TV ratings, there are a lot of variables: Summer show, DVR, MTV.com views, it would be silly to just say yeah these are the only viewers Edit: it's reality TV that's how TV is now, you know that haha
I think the Rivals views are higher than they appear just by the TV ratings..
You may think that until the cows come home, but proof and profits are all that matter to stockholders. In other words, no one important gives a **** if you can't turn it into hard cash-or even bit coin.
I hope you were not expecting a response from me? :beaten:
I wasn't. I said I was kidding.
I wasn't. I said I was kidding.
I know, and that's why I responded with the :beaten:
I know, and that's why I responded with the :beaten:
Oh okay. That's cool.
About what I expected, maybe slightly above it
I think the ESPY awards may have hurted a bit this episode ratings. Hopefully next week it will increase.
Its really not that bad. Overall its not as high as all the others but the target demo isnt that far from the best ones. rivals is at 0.8 which isnt terrible considering the espys and the honey boo boo premiere.
I am one of the 177,000 who didn't watch last night after watching Ep 1 last week--thanks to a faulty DVR.
Ratings aren't too bad. I think if they keep going like this we may get another challenge or two.
I think the ESPY awards may have hurted a bit this episode ratings. Hopefully next week it will increase.
Being they came up with the idea, excuse bingo can only be played over at TVBYTHENUMBERS. p.s. That sentence hurted a bit this mind.
Honey boo-boo is back. NO! I just pulled myself out of the wake of Duck Dynasty and now we got to deal with this ****. Well at least Rivals had one night on top. Aint happening again.
At least they're doing better than what they can do with another season of the Real World. I seriously think the Real World is done unless they cast girls that belong on BGC and guys that belong on Tool Academy. Just give us challenges lol

Yeah it's like Fresh Meat now.
The Real World still needs to go on because it's only real purpose now is to pretty much get new people for the challenges.
MTE. I highly doubt MTV will cancel RW but keep The Challenge. In my mind at least they're kind of like a packaged deal.
For the new peeps jumping into the discussion, I'll repeat what I picked up from more than one source connected to both MTV and BMP before Rivals II began. Last year, a new executive was brought in from Lifetime to oversee MTV's way ahead. She has a very close relationship with the network president. Collectively, the senior management view is that MTV should not have series that are older than the network's prime demographic -- which begins at age 12. Both RW and the challenges are geriatric and on life support by that definition. Tick tock...

Solid improvement. If it doesn't drop again, it looks like the season will be in good shape.
It won the night for the third week in a row. I sense a renewal coming soon. The real world is now basically a try out for the challenge.
No it didn't win the night in the 2nd week.
Don't get me wrong but isn't the prime demographic 12-49? Meaning there should be at least 49 season ;) Hence not on their death bed yet.

That is the important number in the 12-18 demo. See MTV's own press release from week one of the show for confirmation if you need it. The secondary demo is 18-34, which encompasses those who have been watching RW/RR & the challenges since they were pre- or young teens.

Really glad this season is hitting high marks consistently. Pretty surprised it went toe to toe with Honey Boo boo, I guess she is no Duck Dynasty XD. The show and Real World need to continue to perform to stay alive and show the powers that be that they can still be assets to the network.

"High marks" would be something over 2.0 which is about the lowest rating ever from when Veronica, Beth, Rachel and Ruthie were on the challenges. Don't minimize the measuring stick. Who knows, they might get to 2.0M if some viewers don't begin to leave as their favorites do.

With your experience in the industry, I don't think I need to explain the absurdity of this...
Honey Boo Boo airs at 9:30, so it's not going head to head with it
