That's terrible to hear about the cancer. :( :( She can't catch a break. Do you know what kind it is?
Yes I do, but I think Tonya deserves some privacy on that question. Sorry.
Ok now I don't know how to feel about Kenny and Evan, if someone accused me of rape I would try and make sure the accusations were proven to be false. Anyways happy to know that Tonya is happy.
I read an article on it and in the 2nd video the article says 0:45 a cast member says " yeah about the rape" I cant really tell if Ibis said that, its not very clear. And I love how Evan was saying "Veronica I cant vouche for anything you just did, whats the matter with you" when he was just watching the fight and tried to stop Wes from breaking them up. They didnt seem uncomfortable talking about it in the vid so who knows maybe they dont even remember what happened. Its crazy I remember watching those after shows and thinking nothing of it. And apparently Kenny's real name is Kenneth, lol thats interesting.

Almost all people named Kenny were named Kenneth at birth....
Almost all people named Kenny were named Kenneth at birth....
Yeah I'm aware that most names that end "ny" are not the birth name, Johnny's real name is John not Johnathan (or at least I think it's John), I thought Kenny's real name was Ken. Anyways I haven't heard of many Kenneths so thats why it's interesting, not extremely interesting but yea.

Ken - still short for Kenneth most of the time ;)
So to summarize this story:
Looks like Tonya's allegations ARE true.
MTV and BMP knew about the actions, didn't reprimand Kenny or Evan, and then months after it happened they gave Tonya a bad edit in both the episodes she was on and the reunion and #*$@ they didn't show special.
Kenny was invited back for two more challenge after the incident but before the story went public.
Evan was invited back for one more challenge after the incident but before the story went public.
After the incident went public, Kenny and Evan were not invited back to a challenge where they would be trapped in a house with alcohol and females, but MTV did hire Kenny to host shows and Evan to be on the mtv.com challenge aftershow.
After the incident went public, Johnny joked about it on twitter and yet was still asked back on a challenge.
After the incident went public, Trichelle and Melinda made negative comments on social networking about the incident and yet were also invited back to the challenge.
Viacom released a statement that blamed Tonya for abusing alcohol, but the alcohol was provided BY PRODUCTION.
Other than some minor monetary losses, it looks like BMP/MTV/Kenny/Evan will suffer no consequences.
Why did this not turn into a major public relations disaster?
If I had nothing better to do with my life, I would probably stop watching BMP's shows out of disgust for this company's actions. I mean if so many people boycotted Chickfila just for some owner's political comment, why wouldn't such a boycott happen here?
Almost all people named Kenny were named Kenneth at birth....
Not entirely true. Some people's name Kenny are just that Kenny. It's a little naive to say otherwise. I love these name games by the way, lol.

Agreed. Although BMP shows excluding the Kardashians are like "crack" to me.

Because most people don't know about this, and I'm sure a lot that do don't care at all. Besides the point that there is no legitimate explanation as to what really happened that night so someone like me doesn't want to be judge, jury, and executioner on such a strange issue.
Not entirely true. Some people's name Kenny are just that Kenny. It's a little naive to say otherwise. I love these name games by the way, lol.
Hence the "almost all" at the beginning of my statement.
Is this truly settled? If it is and Kenny and Evan aren't punished I'm going to be pissed. I can't believe they're blaming the victim, so messed up.
It happens all the time. This case isn't any different.
The real issue or to us at least is what will happen to Kenny/Evan's tv careers. I'm pretty convinced they werent invited back to the past few challenges cause this came to light (despite how Evan seems to act like he was still allowed on the show) but I wonder if they'll be going back on the show now since its all finished now.

Well he's been doing online stuff for BOTS on MTV.com, so it doesn't seem like he's been shunned.

The rape that Ibis is referring to is something in Tonya's earlier life, not in the challenge. And yes, Ibis does say "the rape" if you listen with headphones and the sound turned up.
The settlement did not come with a public admission of guilt, such as the Kobe Bryant case where he admitted their was some "confusion", Viacom in all likelihood made a financial decision in terms of how much they would have to pay their lawyers and pr people, as even dealing with this small amount of press cost money,. Tonya probably got a small sum, but clearly got no other concessions.

A settlement is not an admission of guilt. Her allegations could be true or they could be false, doesn't prove it one way or another.
I know I'm a terrible person but I'm just glad this is over. As a woman, I dislike the statements released by BMP. I also realize that I can't be as upset as I was over the "legitimite rape" comment and condone any form of sexual assault, regardless of the instrument. On a purely selfish note, I've been a fan of this show since the 90's and have seen every episode of the Challenge. I would be quite upset if the show was cancelled due to toothbrush crime (now that I'm reading this is sounds especially callous so consider it a reference to RW: Back to New Orleans) or anything two drunk idiots did trying to be funny. Hopefully there are no future allegations of this kind as that is the only way I'm going to be happy. Conflict over. I feel like I should be happier.
I've been watching the original Battle of the Sexes......Tonya refused to do a trivia challenge where they had to strip based on her morals, and she wouldn't go to Puck's wedding because of how he was treating the women in the house. I remember I loved her in that season (that was my first experience with anything Real World, Road Rules, or the Challenge)....it's really sad to see how much she has transformed since then. It's sad that his allegedly happened. I really hope she gets better, and I know after this lawsuit we will prob. never see her on a challenge, again, which is sad, because she was always one of my favorite competitors! I would love to see her again.

You are not a terrible person, because I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would have wanted this to go further.
I guess I need to keep repeating this until people understand: Neither MTV nor VIACOM has released any statement. In these types of settlements, one only normally hears from both sides that the parties settled out of court. Anything else stated by either party normally would be included in the settlement agreement which the California Superior Court will be asked by both sides to seal.
The original news report in The Hollywood Reporter used a quote from a court filing by MTV Networks, I believe it was from last January. While I agree that their statement is unconscionable in any context, it has nothing to do with the present circumstance.
Unfortunately, only time will tell if anything will be truly different on the challenges. My hope is that if there is a major cash settlement that comes from the pockets of the insurance companies, they will put pressure on MTV and BMP to behave in both an ethical and moral manner. I know there are good people within both companies who must have found all of this to be distasteful, as well as -- unfortunately -- predictable.

The long and short of it is, so few people watch this show nowadays... Most of us who do have been watching for so long, it doesn't really matter what happens anymore. We'll continue to watch until it's cancelled. Note that this doesn't constitute an endorsement of any alleged deplorable action that may or may not occur on the show, or the quality of the show in general. It simply is what it is... a show that's been in our lives for so long, it's hardly an option not to watch anymore.
As far as sparking outrage among the general public who aren't MTV viewers, I believe most people's first reaction to hearing about this case would probably be something along the lines of: "Those shows are still around?? Huh...".
Katelyn from Brooklyn did an AMA on Reddit a year ago and one of the things she discussed was the Tonya situation. She believes/knows the accusations are TRUE. She also reveals the toothbrush belonged to KellyAnne. She reveals a strong dislike for Kenny, as well as Ryan Kehoe, Camila, Laurel, Sarah, and Bananas to a lesser extent.

I don't really know much about the case beyond the article, but it seems to me from reading that reddit ama, Katelyn seemed to just read the article and took it for fact. She may know if it actually happened, but I wouldn't say she is saying she knows it's 100% true from reading that.
I thought it was known it was true. I don't understand how Kenny and Evan can still have "fans". It's sad...some of their defense is them blaming the victim which is absurd.
