Oh we know, which is why the overwhelming majority of the people in the U.S. have forgotten the show exists. Racism, ***ual orientation & religion are still very much a reality & still very hot topics, where Jonathan Murray learned otherwise is beyond me. He just prefers these vapid types who offer nothing (like Tony for example) over people with REAL issues then tries to say in so many words that real issues aren't as entertaining to the 12-year olds they're catering to now (which is a big issue in itself).
12 year olds shouldn't be watching someone get head in a confessional. Or a dumb broad saying she's had *** with like 25 people. It's glorifying trashiness. The Real World was meant to hold itself to a higher standard compared to other reality TV shows. Then again, it's no longer The Real World, nor is it the true story.
I watched the RW for the first time when i was like ten years old or so and people were having *** and drunk. It is reality tv, if a 12 year old can't handle it then they shouldn't be watching.
I think the RW has change a ******* lot but seeing someone having *** or being a ***** has always been part of the real world regardless.

I was watching VH1 Celebreality and had no issue with it being trashy because it acknowledged that it was trashy television, it was meant to be full of filth and debauchery.
Real World held itself to a higher standard for a long time. But now it's the same trash. And what's worse is it masquerades around as a "groundbreaking season" when it is far from it. If Real World would acknowledge that it no longer has class, then I would have no reason to *****. Do not pretend to be something other than what you truly are. #TheFakeWorld.
I think is funny that people complain that the show is center around ***, when I personally think one of the main topics over the seasons has been ***/drama specially after one of their most popular season the first Las vegas season. Since then Real world over year has been center around *** , drama and lastly relatable real life issues.
I just saw the first San Diego even though Frankie was open about her illness and cutting. Her main storylines didnt revolved around it. It revolved about her blacking out while being drunk and being flirtatious with guys including Brad on the first night. Her relationship problem with her boyfriend and the other cast members.
I feel like people are being to hard with this new cast, especially over ONLY 1 episode that production decide to focus of them being drunk and dramatic. 4 out of the 7 people open up about real life issues throughout the season:
Madison- Her meth addiction and the dark path it took her.
Jason- Meeting his dad and his daughter. I cant wait for this one. Seeing him cry when meeting his dad on the teaser for what to come is heartbreaking for me.
Sylvia- She opens up about the domestic violence she went through according to other cast members.
Violetta- Eating disorder according to one of the mean comments of tia on IG. Plus on the teaser Before the first episode they show "Baby Momma, Brothers, Sisters, Enemies, Eating disorder, fears" so I hope they show her talking about it.
But then again it will comes down on what production want to show and how they want to edit this people as. I think editing can be a ***** and the downfall for any reality show.
Exactly. I know a good bit of us were watching MTV when we were 12 but back then the shows didn't really cater to us. Why they are so hell-bent on ***ualizing pre-teens now is sickening.
There are still PLENTY of real issues to be discussed on this show.
I think the classiest moment Tuesday night was Bruno fixing his belt, while Sylvia looks at the camera deciding whether to spit or swallow.
It's ridiculous how hyper***ualized it has become. I mean *** happens. That's a fact. But people generally do not go about it the way that it's portrayed on today's screens. When we were little teeny boppers we were watching Ruthie, Frankie, Paula, etc.. Hookups happened, but they weren't the show's center piece.
I could go on forever... point is, the last authentic season was Brooklyn. The last real enjoyable seasons were NOLA & Las Vegas because there were genuine issues that transcended the drama.
According to bruno sylvia didn't gave him head, he was adjusting his MIC after a hot steamy made out session. Even though production made it seem like they did more. Which I believed since I don't think he would deny it if something went down, he doesn't have anything to lose.

This was my issue with the first episode. The producers don't know how to let things happen on their own now. One of the only moments I enjoyed was the cast getting lost looking for the store. Most of the episode was way too similar to Explosion's premiere with all the manufactured drama and make outs.

THANK YOU.
I think everyone had so much excitement invested into that one episode, and because it didn't live up to people's standards, everyone started throwing shit everywhere and trashing the show/cast members. I'm going to wait for these people to impress me, because currently; Tony, Madison and Jason aren't doing it for me, but can they change my opinion of them? It's likely. But I'll have to wait until the next episode to see if that's possible, and then the next episode and the one after as well.

I agree. The premier wasn't bad. It's pretty muc h on par with most modern RW premeires. I think people just need to keep on watching. With this season's twist things are bound to get more real and personal.
Done with Real World. Absolute trash. Case closed.
I hope you were not talking in general....
Shishhh....I don't understand all the hate here on this forum lately with everything that MTV does without even saying why it was the "Worst season premiere. Ever." or that "casting team should get fired", but I'm glad we won't read any of your ridiculous, "just throwing out there" comments/gifs on this anymore.
The Real World doesn't work like it used to be, we don't have anymore more topics that could get viewers to watch. Sexual orientation, religion, racism that's done and with the success of Jersey Shore, the whole reality TV business changed. I was able to watch some older seasons of the Real World and I honestly think those older seasons would not draw any better ratings nowadays than what's MTV is currently getting now. (Those topics were so new back in the day that it felt fresh, but watching it now, it doesn't get you that much exciting). So retrospectively those premieres were faaar more boring if you look it nowadays. You have to have some kind of uniqueness and I think Ex-Plosion and Skeletons have that, it's seperate your show from every other reality tv show and I think this episode did a great job with what's in store for the viewers (aka get viewer's attention) which is the main goal of Reality TV now.
I hope you're getting a hefty check in the mail from all this ************* that's going on. When did we start defending million & billion dollar corporations who give no **** about anybody on this site or anyone else?
Because I was getting mad with Lurker's Post about how this was the "worst premier episode. Ever." without saying why. That's why I wrote he did the (MY opinion) usual "Throwing-out-there" post (aka just the bandwagon effect on this site lately) and I'm glad I won't read such thing, because I hate it when people don't actually say why they thought this way. If he would've said it why (Which he did afterwards) I wouldn't have had any problem with his opinion. I didn't meant to attack Lurker personally and if I did, I want to apologize to Lurker. His gifs are not my thing, but he can/ more so should keep this going, because many others do.
I will defend anyone if the arguments against them are ridiculous (or not even stated) and it doesn't matter if he's a person, someone on the next challenge from another show (without even watching any episode) or a corporation that doesn't give a **** about anybody on this site, because actually they don't even have to give a **** about us. We are just special people, we analyse soo much about the show, it's crazy. I mean if they did, would the show get better ratings? Maybe, maybe not. Most of us hated the ExPlosion twist and eventually it gave the Real World some attention back. No matter what, most of us, will watch the episodes anyway and if we don't, the ratings are not in any relation to us. They don't have to produce the show for us (like all the things Lurker stated), but they have to get to the bigger sum of people that didn't watched every episode of the Real World and they know not the history about the show and I feel like the average person won't get the attention anyway compare to some good looking, drunk person. Many people use Las Vegas 2 as an example of how The Real World should be, but this season definitely lived from Dustin's secret and the hype about it that was something special and his history was not the "Real World" in my books. It's clearly that they cast him, because of that.
PinkRose said it the best, it's only one episode so one should probably wait some more episodes and in fact I already know more and are far more interested about some of this cast than I did for 80 % of the cast from St. Thomas, Portland and Ex-Plosion. So in my eyes, the episode was far from being the worst ever.
I still haven't even watched the episode lol, I think I fell out of the show's demographic a couple years ago. However, I will definitely try to force myself to catch it before the next episode. At least I am going in with super low expectations, so it should be awesome haha

That didn't happen. She had her mouth open and looked at the confessional computer and said "Oh god, we're still in the confessional" or something. There was no suggestion of her spitting/swallowing.
Just watched the premiere today. Personally I was entertained and found myself laughing quite a bit, which was nice.
Madison- Gorgeous girl, not a fan of the way she talks but she seems nice enough- a bit of a tease though, which is fine
Tony- Cute, not sure I like the way he wants to come off as a charming gentleman, but with the boys some douchiness comes out
Jason- all I really remember about him is the flashforwards with his skeletons, and not getting any from Sylvia lol
Nicole- haha she is awesome!! come on though, pace yourself girl :p....accent does go from cute to annoying time to time though
Sylvia- I like her a lot! beautiful and fiesty I love it
Violetta- she is crazy! she likes stirring up drama and she
Bruno- hottie!!! I like him and Sylvia together
Like I said I was entertained by the stupid drama and drunken fighting. I like watching for the occasional laughs, but whenever the RW seasons do not develop good storylines I never finish the seasons......Hopefully Skeletons is different!

Madison, Nicole, Bruno, Jason, and Violetta are all likeable on some level.
Sylvia is tolerable
Tony needs to go the **** home to Louisiana I hate him so much.

I think a lot of my distaste for him is nothing against him as a person in the typical sense, he just stands for everything thats wrong with the casting process.

I just don't get how he is a player...I mean he's not cute in the slightest and he has no ***. I mean his body is decent but that's it. I don't understand how he had 2 girls wanting to bone him the first night. They HAD to be thirsty.
But different strokes for different folks I guess.
I haven't watched The Real World in years, but I decided to give this a try because the Skeletons "twist" could be interesting...as long as the skeletons are have good stories behind them, lol.
Do they not do the intro with the "7 strangers, picked to live in a house..." thing anymore? Also, I agree with everyone who said they liked when you get to know the castmembers a little more at the beginning and they meet like one other person before arriving, and then everyone runs for the best rooms, etc.
I think the most annoying thing was the giant words on the screen "Meanwhile, back at the house..." and "In the next room..." We can kinda figure out where they are and what's happening; I don't think that's necessary! Have they been doing that for a few seasons or just this one?
Drama started pretty quickly! haha. Nicole's accent is really annoying to me. Then again, Madison's voice is pretty annoying to me too. Tony is cute, and so is Jason! But I'm fairly neutral about everyone so far. I think once we learn more about them and see how they act as time goes on and they're not trying so hard then I'll have stronger opinions. Right now since most TV shows are on hiatus I'll watch this, but when other shows come back I might give it up; I'll have to see how the next few episodes go! It might get interesting, but it might not.

All the changes you've noticed happened with Explosion. This is the new style of editing they've been doing.
I enjoyed it! If Madison's story plays out well, that alone would make this a decent season. This cast in general just seems engaging unlike the past few where we had some boring people like Jessica, Marlon, Alexandra, Laura, etc.
Also DA idk if having an *** is something girls look for in a male as opposed to guys looking for that in other guys.....
Preach graphic and lurker!
I will gladly preach to the perverted. Unfortunately, the perverted do not listen.

I was joking.
****!
My ******* went to the episode to see if it actually happened.
Madison, Nicole, Bruno, Jason, and Violetta are all likeable on some level.
Sylvia is tolerable
Tony needs to go the **** home to Louisiana I hate him so much.
****... I don't get the Tony hate considering he didn't even do anything the first episode by makeout with Madison....
Hahaha! Happens to the best of us.
Some people just hate players, but I respect his game lol. If he gets a chance he should bang both Madison & Violetta.
I'll just be over here, patiently waiting for them to put 'The' back in the title.

I just want the old intro back! I'll beg them if I have to.
