So kinda random, but does anyone realize that most of Portland, if not a few of them, are pretty good/decent competitors?

Jordan/Marlon/Johnny are all decent/good/have potential

Averey has the ability to be decent.  Nia's still an unknown.  Ana/Jess--not so good

I haven't seen a single run where there looked to be a point where jumping made sense.

I understand the equipment they wear slow them down, but why do so many of these people swim so poorly?

Anyone doing a challenge should be swimming nonstop for months before they arrive.

Exactly, why would you bother going to one of these things without good swimming capabilities? And it's so unbelievably easy to learn how to swim too.

I don't know why people go when they're out of shape either.  Not to pick on Knight but he shouldn't have been on this one.

Yep, people could on previous challenges when most of the challenges were fun things, but it's all about strength and endurance nowadays.
