The Challenge: Summer 2014 - Discussion (Spoilers)

I think it's hilarious that both big teams of the season go out back to back personally.

The sole reason for that is the Ex-ile twist.

Yeah, it's painfully obvious they wanted Wes out this week. The Bananas return/revenge was too good a storyline fo r them to pass up. It ended up backfiring on them though, with Bananas/Nany going out next week leaving us with a predictable Final involving a rookie team that no one cares about, and two teams that weren't the primary focus of the season and didn't dominate physically and/or politically like Wes/Theresa and Bananas/Nany.

They totally ****** Wes over this season. Wes/Theresa had no chance in the mission they played in the last episode because literally EVERY TEAM was against them and made sure they got last place. It really annoyed me because I would've liked to see all five teams trying to earn their win. Instead, we saw Bananas and Leroy throwing the challenge so Jordan/Sarah could win which is super lame IMO. Jordan/Sarah didn't earn their win. Even though Leroy/Nia beat Wes/Theresa in the dome, I still believe Wes/Theresa are the better team. Those two have outperformed every team in the challenges this season by earning three of their wins. They would've killed the final. I honestly think they would've beat Jordan/Sarah.

Quit crying this isnt the first time the best team has lost Adam CT peformed the best on rivals 1 look what happend....there's something called a dome Wes & Theresa should have Won if they wanted to stay just like everyone else

Unfair match-up. Wes stands no chance. I guess Theresa COULD beat Nia, but as Jordan said, Wes is ******.

It's quite sad, ever since Wes ran into some money he just totally droped the ball on working out.

this challenge isn't made to be fair remember laurel vs jasmine & Wes vs Derek wasn't fair....plus wes isn't weak he was holding that 300 pound thing up pretty well muscles don't mean nothing look at tyree

Not sure why i was quoted. But I see how it could look like I agreed with the initial quote about the "unfair"ness.

It's just an unfortunate mismatch. I was more so getting at that Wes is no longer in prime shape like he was on The Duel. And of course he's not "weak" but he used to be a lot stronger.

(Lifting that 300 pound thing isn't as hard as they tried to make it seem, it's just diminishing returns kicks in after the first time because it must've been complete **** going back and forth up the **** mountain)

I don't think I have ever seen production step in and screw over a team like Wes/Theresa so hard. After the twist was revealed, they play a challenge that is very reliant on alliances, Wes and Theresa had no chance. And then after that, they obviously picked hall brawl. Production really screwed over the best team of the season IMO.

There is no way that the challenge was picked for Wes/Theresa to be screwed over... I'm sorry but production had to have already picked that out before Banany was back in the game. They can't come up with that and have the set up for it over night... So I'm sick of people complaining about that.

Maybe Hall Brawl was to screw them over but I highly doubt the actual challenge was.

Zach was Screwed vs Bananas why not do Hall brawl for the last exile makes sense fight your way back in the most physical game right Smile

I wish it would of been banany/jordan&sarah/wes&theresa in the final that would be intense.

I love all of the conspiracy theorists. As if the challenges were invented on the spot and they didn't have to pay for the riggings and do tests well in advance. But yeah...I bet they said at the beginning of the season "Let's put this challenge in the 9th spot because Bananas is likely to go home midway through, but we're going to have to have him come back one challenge early because Diem is going to get sick and have to leave early, and we want one of our FAVORITES, Wes, to go home before the final and not get another two episodes out of him." Right. That's ABSOLUTELY what happened. Give me a break. They want Wes, Bananas, and CT (and Diem of course) there AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. Sometimes the game just plays out a certain way. Sarah and Jordan had to make the choice to roll with Bananas over Wes (which, given Jordan's history with Johnny and Sarah being in the middle, wasn't easy to predict)...Leroy had to make the choice to betray him...production can't plan those things, sorry to tell you all. If you're unwilling to believe that CT was brought in specifically to take out Bananas on Cutthroat...I'm not sure how you can believe Wes was targeted by production this season.

If anything, Wes got a gift on the last season he was one because, had he been paired with Frank instead of CT (as it should've been), he would've been sent into EVERY elimination round until he went home.

I wouldn't be complaining that much if Wes/Theresa had a chance to compete in the exile just like every other team did. There's something called an exile, which allowed every other team that got eliminated, to have a chance to come back into the game. Wes and Theresa didn't get that opportunity, which is unfair IMO.

Why? To justify Bananas' being on the show? Frank and Wes had one, onesided drunken argument early on in a forgettable season. CT and Wes had a Rivalry dating back to the Duel and multiple heated arguments. CT/Wes was the obvious pairing. Outside of CT destroying Bananas on Cutthroat, their "rivalry" was completely forgettable to that point. Yeah it would've been a better pairing than Frank/Bananas, but it in no way was an obvious pairing, especially over CT/Wes.

I do agree with that they should have had a chance in Exile. But I don't think production purposely ****** their specific team over. If Leroy/Nia lost to Wes/Theresa then that wouldn't have been fair either. No matter who went into this elimination and lost, it wasn't fair since they didn't have a second chance.

My whole point is production didn't conspire to ****** specfically Wes/Theresa over. It just happened to be them.

You're right, it wouldn't have been fair to whoever lost the next elimination because they wouldn't have received a second chance like every other team did. If MTV is going to do a twist, it should be fair for all the teams. I would have preferred if the losing team of the Hall Braw elimination faced Banany in the final exile. It makes more sense that way.

I remember thought that CT and Tina went to Prague earlier and the question was about to use them at the final elimination round and then Bananas/Tyler/Tori/Theresa went in. People perfect for this twist.

You do realise though that they were not in a hurry with the Exile twist, they certainly could've waited another/two weeks to reveal it when the last team before the final were eliminated and then the Exile team+ the last eliminated team could've gone in as their last chance for the final. Tell the last two pairs that instead going to another foreign country, they go back to the dome to welcome another team. With this, every single eliminated team (minus the DQ's) had the chance to get back in, this is a purely a production mistake and production wanting to get the maximum of drama with the twist. Just look at the dynamics of the house at that point, whoever came back, the twist would've turned the game upside down at that point in time. And they should've used just another challenge and not one where you can gang up on a team, just another production mistake to gain maximum of drama as seen afterwards.

Frank and Bananas were a far better pairing as Frank/Wes or CT/Bananas, because CT/Bananas were pretty good friends after Rivals 1/Exes. Wes/CT at least had still a little thing going on as did Frank/Bananas with the whole rookie revolution thing...

I think the Ex-ile twist worked just fine..except the point where the team was brought back. I think they should be brought back right at the final challenge and not a moment sooner. But other than that I'm fine with it.

Samen here. Timing wise and looking at the specific teams left it made sense for them to bring them in now for the drama but the team after this doesn't get that same fighting chance.

It looks rigged now.  How can the competitors out at the beginning have a chance to come back, but the ones at the end don't?  It makes no sense....

Agree 100%. Completely unfair to Wes and Theresa and it would've been unfair for Leroy and Nia. Everyone got two chances, Wes and Theresa only got one (ignoring Theresa's return) and Leroy and Nia would've only gotten one (again, if Nia even competed against Bananas and Nany). Two teams shouldn't be facing a single elimination when every other team was facing double elimination.

And the thing I don't like about the twist is that, I'm a firm believer in "you're eliminated, you're done". The idea is decent and a switch up and shock is kind of nice, and of course if I was in Bananas and Nany's shoes I'd be excited, but every season somebody lost and had to go home and that's the way it should be. My opinion.

It ended being fair without production planning it that way since either way Wes wouldnt have been able to participate on the exile over his neck. By Nia getting DQ Theresa got a chance to return by winning the elimination she won her spot on the final.
Let's say Bananas and Nany does not come at this point but right before the final. I don't believe for a second that Wes/Theresa would be last place in that challenge with the last four teams remaining, that would've been either Jordan/Sarah or Jay/Jenna. In the end Banany coming before the final made it unfair for Wes/Theresa/Leroy/Nany since they go home with only being eliminated once. Just because it turned out to be this way, doesn't change it that one team was robbed another chance thus made the situation unfair. Wes's injury and Nia DQ were things that went unplanned and that nobody could have seen that coming. Things that made the situation fair looking back, but definitely not at that time.

Absolutely.....

I'm NOT a fan of Wes, but how come he always gets crucified for screwing people over (either "friends" or people that he's in an alliance with) by voting them in or wanting someone else to do his dirty work, yet Sarah and Jordan get free passes? To be clear, I don't have a major issue with what Wes (or Bananas) has done in the past. You have to look out for yourself (or in this case, your team) and only one person/team walks away with the win. People make them both out to be the devil (especially Wes) for doing this. As a viewer, it makes the game a lot more interesting when there are people who make bold/hard political moves to advance. It's better than having a bunch of goodie-two-shoes who have no political game. This isn't directed at any one person on here, just in general. I just don't get the reasoning.

Idk about everyone else, but for me I feel like Wes does that shit to have an ****** out of it or something . The fact that almost everyone has said it at one point makes sense.

Sneak Peek

I'm not super invested in any of the teams left at this point but i'm still excited for this shit omg.

And damnTeej has been looking so good this season, it's the hair or the beard or something idk but this is the first time i can remember being into him like that.

I personally would much rather see someone having fun with that aspect of the show rather than "omg now i absolutely have no other choice but to screw over my friends who i love so much omg this game is so hard tho :''''''( "

Hate =/= Rivalry. Wes and CT had two loud arguments on two shows. Johnny and CT arguably had bad blood on five shows (Duel, Inferno 3, Gauntlet 3, Cutthroat, Rivals), and then went head to head in a final on Exes. Johnny and CT have the best and longest going rivalry that's existed on the show. I stand by what I said: Wes got a gift that season.

Why are people acting like the producers went out of their way to specifically **** over Pale N Fail? They didn't. They could not have predicted how this game could've gone at all. Backpack/Nany just happened to be the ones that came back and it just happened to be Pale N Fail's game that was messed with. With everything that happened this season I doubt this could've been planned.

Besides I think it's for the best. Mr. Pale has won two shows already and Ms.Fail really just does not deserve to win one at all so it's no big deal IMO. There's more of a shot for Jordan/Sarah, Jay/Jenna, Leroy/Nia to win now and that's fine with me.

I'm so excited for the finale challenge and how it will all play out! I might even take another hiatus until this season ends;)

It may be a coincidence, but it irritates me how I'm noticing that the producers used the 2 physical ex-iles, for the ******* AYTO kids but yet save a **** challenge where you have to work together for JOHNNY AND AVERY knowing **** well they hate each other and can't work together really well like that. Talk about Bananas favoritism.

It isn't like they knew Johnny/Averey would be next..It could have been Jay/Jenna for all they know. Here we go again, people discrediting Bananas wins in anyway they can.

Production already has this shit planned out.

After realizing that production plans the challenges and elimination rounds a few days ahead of time, I actually don't think they screwed Wes over so I take my words back. I was just being biased cause Wes is one of my favorites lol with that being said, I can't wait for tomorrow night's episode Dirol the elimination looks insane!

So it is favoritism that he had to do a physical one against a guy who is bigger and stronger than he is, but then didn't get something physical against a guy who is smaller and weaker but rather a game that gave the smaller and weaker guy a better chance? Not too sure about that one.

The funny thing is that if Leroy/Nia or CT/Diem (if she never got sick) lost early and came back by winning the Exile, hardly anybody would be complaining.

I'd be complaining if it was CT/Diem but not Leroy/Nia though.

If you don't think that CT and Wes would've received similar "favoritism", then I've got some land to sell you. Actually, a lot of people who buy into the conspiracy theories would feel the same way if it were Wes. CT? No "favoritism", but rather the greatest comeback in challenge history after defeating a "murderer's row" of teams.

MTV is ****** lucky I already knew Wes and Theresa went home, because they showed Leroy's big (sexy) black *** hands clapping and shit in the **** promo for tomorrow.
