I still will never understand how she got deemed the MVP of this season. Jay ****** up in the drinking part but Jenna was their anchor in the beginning of the final. She didn't even want to run.
I think it was everyone was expecting her to be Casey and she competed very well in all of the missions. But still I wouldn't give her MVP. I'd give MVP to Wes. But lol Bananas would never say that.
This!
I would say Jenna was the surprise of the challenge.
Bananas said something like, "I don't know about MVP, but Jenna was the dark horse". Everyone seemed to agree, and when the host said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Okay, Jenna as the MVP", you can hear Bananas correcting her and saying, "Dark horse, dark horse"
I'd give MVP to Sarah or Wes, but you're right, Bananas wouldn't say that .
Do they really bring anything to the show that a lot of other people wouldn't/don't?
No not really..But I don't care, you can say the same for people like Jonna/Preston/Leroy/Brandon too yet they get cast regularly.
Leroy brings great competition unlike Jay's quitter ***.
Well thats not good enough.
And what about Jay is " good enough".
Newness.
It that literally all you care about..... if ANYONE is new no matter how horrible they are will you root for them.
Smh besides ayto is there a new person you don't like.
If Jay's body literally rejected that drink, then it simply cannot be helped. I've heard some say, "well everyone else did it." Everyone else doesn't have Jay's body. He's embarrassed about it and probably realizes he simply isn't cut for this. As for Jenna. MVP? Hell naw! They had a lead on Leroy and Theresa, but lost it because Jenna refused to run. They would have never kept that lead anyway and I don't see Jenna walking up that mountain.
But hes seen the show before so if he has a weak gut why bother coming on it? I think almost every final since the ruins has had a food portion in the final challenge. Some have been tame but as of late they've been leaning towards absolutly vile. So yes it could of been helped. He simply wasted a spot.
He didn't know for sure there would have been an eating challenge. It could have even been something he might have been able to get through. It just turns out he wasn't.
in the past 5 challenges 3 have had eating sections. I think one can assume there would be an eating portion. Also his was a drinking challenge which is fundamentally easier then eating some of the nasty or large portions of food people have had to eat because at least you can tilt your head back and simply chug it down. Jay wasn't ready for this final. No more so then big Easy on gauntlet 3. He simply shouldn't have been there.
So? You still can't assume there will be an eating portion.
So you can't make assumptions based on facts? I think everyone can assume that theres about a 50% chance of finals having eating challenges at this point. Same with finals involving swimming. Not every final has swimming but if you don't know how to swim you might wanna sit a final out.
Jay is weak and he'll never come this close to a challenge win ever again if he's ever invited back. Jay is weaker than Chet and JD, if he was on Free Agents I bet Brandon or Cohutta would have beaten him.

Is that all he has? why is newness so good???? he did very little to advance the plott... at least leeroy , johnny( both, zach etc contribute to the narrative and the game. If we are going to get unintersting people please have them contribute the the challenge like CJ or TY and be factors as opposed to uninteresting AND bad for the sake of new.
I really don't think Jenna would have kept drinking either. She lucked out because he said it first, so she can act like she would have now. When she was asking him "Are we quitting?" she wanted him to say yes.
This. I don't know why people are going so hard on Jay for quitting but saying they'd like Jenna to come back. She may not have been the one to actually say the words "I quit" but it was obvious she wanted to. She was whining about Jay wanting her to run and at the last check point she wasn't doing any better than Jay.
Right. She wasn't pushing him to keep going. She just gave a halfhearted, "Are we quitting?" I legit don't believe she would have stayed in the game either.

She wanted to quit before they even got there. All I'm saying is that it is harder to push yourself when your partner complains the whole way. It's not all on Jay.
I enjoyed Jay and Jenna for most of this challenge. I feel bad about all the heat Jay is getting but he screwed up so it is what it is. I'd love to see Jenna again. Refreshing to see someone so unintentionally funny and bubbly but still perform pretty well.
Jay not expecting an eating portion is like Leroy not expecting a swimming portion in the final
Leroy would never quit a swimming portion of a final tho. Because unlike jay Leroy is there to compete
exactly a true competitor...... Leroy sucks it up everytime and always finishes..... he could easily have quite the daily swimming challenge where he obv was going to get last but he finished it out. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger, unless you just quit altogether

Rivals 1, he quit as he said it on multiple interviews.

I was speaking in refference to his swimming, but you are right there, except not nearly as bad as jay. a) they had no shot of MONEY b) they were banged up pretty bad... i guarntee if there was 5 figure payday for going up the hill leeroy and mike would******* up, but in their condition they couldnt CATCH anyone so it would be futile...... jay couldnt catch anyone either (since as 28 he cant do a puzzle :s) but he just had to finish for the money

He said that editing helped him with the final, he said that both Micheal and him quit and in the end (and Michael even outperforming him), he didn't finish, which is why Leroy doesn't always finish or didn't.

He didn't finish, as a true competitor you would want to finish even if you don't make money with it and anybody else is far ahead of you.
Well for me, getting yourself motivating to finish a swim (or helping someone to keep swimming) is far easier than motivating yourself (or someone else/partner) eating disgusting food, it wasn't even eating, it was drinking which is way harder, especially when you know you just can't drink it. There is nothing really you can do.
Yeah his showing in that eating checkpoint was really bad, but as you could see Jay at least knew that it was his fault and nobody is more disappointed than him and he wasn't that bad before that checkpoint. He admitted it even on the reunion.
People defending Jay and saying he tried makes no sense to me.
It's a matter of people overreacting to the whole thing. They act as if Jay had no intention of doing any part of the final, wherein it's clear that the eating thing was the only part of that he physically couldn't do. As someone who considers himself having a phobia of eating things that I don't definitively know that I'll like (aka making me INCREDIBLY picky when it comes to food, probably worse than Jenna) I can understand why he couldn't chug that thing down.
Besides the fact that plenty of people online can be all tough and say "I would have drank it easily" like really? They say that now but the second that they get near something like that, they'd be tourtering themselves too.

Thank you. That's my whole Issue with it. People act like it's some mortal sin that he quit and that he should be punished to the depths of hell. He tried and couldn't do it. It is what it is. Nothing to get pissy over.

I don't understand how Jay is like 28 years old or however old he is. He looks sooo damn young.
What the hell....I thought he was 22 like Jenna. He looks like a college student.
Right. She wasn't pushing him to keep going. She just gave a halfhearted, "Are we quitting?" I legit don't believe she would have stayed in the game either.
Did you watch last seasons final? Was there an eating challenge in the final?

He was 26 on explosion....***** so I'm assuming he is like 28 now...
