Exactly, you say its promotable but so have the others and they didn't promote them. Plus, people don't watch the challenge to see loved ones get storylines they watch to see alumni from RW/RR/FM and even those handful of AYTO fans lol. Not some family members who will get there ***** kicked, half of the will bring nothing to the show, and we'll never see them again. To me this season shouldn't even be called the challenge because it's not really going to be the challenge IMO.

Every season there were only a few people that actually brought something to the show/season. Almost every season, more than half of the cast was just being there.

It's about getting new people and I think the theme itself is far better promotable for attracting new people (if they still forget the ones that would watch a season again if the old schoolers would show up). What would I do with my love one being there? What happenes when I win a daily challenge and he's in danger to be voted in, will I pull my strategy moves to save him? With that you don't even have to know the alumnis all that well. I compete with and against my blood, at the same time. It's pretty good idea to use than anything like a format BOTS/Cutthroat at this point.

BTW: I'm sure that Bananas and Hannah  won't do this season together. I mean, they probably should know that they won't end up on the same team and both Bananas/Hannah know they would be stupid to be around Nany/Camilla, when Hannah doesn't like those girl at all. I feel like Hannah would have nothing to gain if she does a challenge and it will be very stressful with Nany/Camilla being there with their relationship.

Umm I disagree. Some alumni might have not bought anything to the show but its not like they were invisible and we hadn't seen them on tv before. We know them we don't know these people, nor do we want too. I'm all for new people being on The Challenge like Cory, Brian, Ashley, Madison, Sahar, Andrew, etc. the options are huge with alumni especially this season. This season was the perfect season to introduce a bunch of alumni now we are getting only like 14-16 of them-- bad mistake. Just because Survivor does it doesn't mean the challenge should too. Prime example, EX-ile and The Island. Only Survivor twist that worked was secret voting.

And a Cutthroat style challenge would work with a theme not random like the last. And I still think BOTS3 would be far more successful this time than last.

It is cool to see how thegame will be played with a piece of home in the same house

i really dont know if hannah teter would do a challenge.

I guarantee you that almost evey season had like 25 % of the cast who were rather invisible until they got into an elimination round which equals your "half of the bloodlines won't bring anything to the table". That is a rather common thing on the challenge.

Plus this Bloodline twist is good for another thing, people know who the blood ones/unknowns are since they have a real relationship with one alumni. So the viewer automatically knows who they are.  Ex..."Ohh hey that's Dustin's sister/ Nany's brother/Bananas girlfriend."

I know plenty of people, who don't watch TRW at all, but they watch the Challenge and people like Sahar/Andrew would be just as "unknown" as the blood lines to the Challenge viewer.

That blood line twist is/was used a dozen time in television shows. It's a very common thing to use family/friends on a competition show. Same as the Ex-ile twist where an eliminated person comes back to the game. That is/was not invented by CBS/Survivor.

Plus, as a house and drama twist, the EX-ile twist wasn't a bad call at all (look what happened with the numbers when they returned), IMO, the execution of it was just bad before and could've done better.

Cutthroat doesn't have a theme to it if it would have a theme, it would be a mistake if they would call it Cutthroat 2, because Cutthroat wasn't all that succesful to be used another time and whoever thinks BOTS3 will work (especially if they cast again people that are new to the Challenge and not old school people) is just being naive, it will fail just like BOTS 2. History will repeat itself.

My first thought when I heard the theme was: everyone's going to agree to split whatever money they win with their family member. Like, idk if it's just because I'm super close to my sister or whatever but I think it'd be stupid NOT to make an agreement like that with your family member. So then it would still be like family members are on the same "team" even if they're TECHNICALLY on different teams which = less drama IMO. Which is one of the reasons I initially hated the theme

i really dont know if hannah teter would do a challenge.

She definitely wouldn't. MTV is below her and it would just be stupid of her to do it. She doesn't need the money and she would possibly be around two girls she can't stand. It would hurt her image if anything.

What happens if there were two big teams, you win the daily challenge and your blood one is in danger getting voted off. I don't think drama would get any less tbh, especially if the love ones/eliminated one are there the whole time and people can vote someone in. Great for strategy.

I'd just be like "see you at home, hopefully with some cash we can split"

But the biggest reason I hate the theme is that it doesn't indulge my challenge nostalgia at all lol. Only 1/2 alumni just sucks in general and the fact that some of these "alumni" will be challenge rookies from newer seasons of the real world means there are only going to be like 1/3 alumni I actually like/care about. Just shitty all around

No way I would share my money and make a deal like that if I was on. I do not think they would either. If they want the money then they can earn it. Plus I would guess the bloodlines that are on will then be eligible for every other season after.

It's just economically the smartest decision since you double your chance of at least making SOME money and halve the probability of going home with $0. I'm not about that high risk/high reward life

It would be a smart decision even if you were a relatively good competitor with a ****** athlete for a sibling. That sibling might slide to the final because people don't perceive him/her as a threat (Devyn, Jay/Jenna, etc) whereas you might get eliminated early because you have a greater target on your back. The sibling who makes it to the final has a chance of finishing and getting the 3rd place prize, and could split it with you so it's not a totally wasted effort on your part.

Or they could even make 75/25 agreements for the money so that the person who actually won it would get a greater share.

There are just so many ways to work this theme to maximize your chance of winning money and I think it could result in less game-related drama/intensity overall.

I just don't like the theme because it doesn't sound as entertaining as I wanted 27 to be. I wanted more RW/FM/RR alumni, with some Ex-Plosion and Skeleton rookies, and some St. Thomas returnees thrown in there.

Not a bunch of people from the Alumni's home that viewers could probably care less about.

Yeah but if you think about it the only people from those casts willing(right time) to come on the show are : Cory, Jenna, Hailey, Thomas, Jay, Tony, Jason, Madison, Violetta, Sylvia, Marie, Robb. Pretty sure we'll get at least 8 of those faces. We're not missing out on much.

Personally, I think they should cast Bananas' "brother" Kenny. Wink

you hit the nail on the head, about battle of the seasons three, if they don't have a good mix of alumni from old-school, fresh meat, and new school then they are not covering their entire Fanbase. Some casual fans only care about certain cast members, some love Johnny bananas, some love coral, some love Veronica, it just depends.  If they can get a good mix of different eras they can Prob get more viewers.

Trust me, I agree with you that I also want to see something more alumnis friendly (like an Old/Regular/New type), but I think the theme/idea behind this season isn't as bad as some people make it to be.

Be careful, V1 might swoop in here.

I'd love to see Kenny and Evan.

Fixed that for you! Smile

I'll pass.  It would be pointless...and I know it won't happen.  ROFL

I apologize if this has already been answered, but how loosely is BMP defining "blood"? It seems like a couple of people have been mentioned as partnering up with whoever they are currently dating.

this is the first time I've been on vevmo in months... i was just checking in to see what the new challenge was... I've been reading the comments and am completely confused... challenge of the siblings? challenge of the family members? is this speculation or is this actually a thing that's going to happen?

mhm The challenge: Bloodlines lol Since that's how production is refering to the cast possible family  member that are willing to do a challenge, when they are asking about their contact info.

I was told yesterday by a little birdie that they want blood related (Siblings, cousins, etc).

I think people are assuming dating since  Survivor Blood vs water included couples. That would be the easist way to go in my opinion.

That's fine. However, I'm still not interested in Cory's brother, or Violetta's sister, or whoever else they can conjure up for anyone else. It could be something that others might want to see, but IMO, it isn't worth eliminating more spots for other RW/RR/FM people to return/make their debut.

Exactly, and IMO having someone like Cory's brother there is going to take away from or effect Cory in a way that I don't want to see on his rookie season.

Some people can't recognize sarcasm...lol. I know he's banned. I just thought it was funny because if you mention either of them it starts a landslide of "love" or "hate" comments.

The Challenge Bloodlines sounds interesting having a team of challenge alumni vs a team of their family members could either be really good or really bad. It could be good if the family team could actually be competitive and get a few wins plus the strategizing within teams would be interested it's always going to be personal. Then again it could be a bust if the family team sucks and this challenge turns into The Ruins where 1 team just dominates a whole season which makes things boring and predictable
