The problem that I see here is though, people that say AYTO people are not allowed to do the Challenge...live in the past. Like just because they are not from the RW/RR circle and this WAS solely about the RW/RR people, they are not allowed to do the Challenge ... is ridiculous and they make this wayyyyy to big of a deal than it actually is at least in my eyes and it’s getting kind of exhausting to read every post about it as a mod like it’s almost Reading-GD-Install-essays-long-exhausting level.
I know you are right in this and I believe this topic was even discussed before Bacch(Jes)us’s parents met, had ***, nine months later he was born, had a normal life, found himself in having some free time and created vevmo. Who is allowed to do a challenge? And people always use the same points over and over and over and over and over again. It won’t be solved...like NEVER. I guess you either like it or not.
I think AYTO has still a couple of people that will be great in a challenge enviroment and themes like Exes or Bloodlines (where you had to have a good, young single relative to be cast) blocked those people from doing the challenge. Plus, AYTO will probably never have more than 4 - 6 people on a season. So it’s still not a big deal where exactly the people chosen are from...

Not being allowed and shouldn't are two different things. We have no control over BMP/MTV, they will cast AYTO as much as they want, for as long as they want, despite being told/shown that it's a bad idea. Plus, like you said, the RR/RW title was removed.
They shouldn't be using them though. I think there's still some untapped potential from FM2/FM1 that they don't use, but should (FM1 might not have as many interested people anymore honestly). Noor, Sydney, Jeff, Pete, and Sandy have yet to grace us with their appearence, for whatever reason that might be. If they decline, that's fine. If they don't, and fit the theme, why would AYTO be considered over people like them. That's my point there.
4-6 spots that are used for AYTO can be used for people who want to come back, that haven't came back in awhile. I think that's the reason why people are making a big deal out of it. They're tainting their show with the likes of another show that was never meant to be there in the first place. Originally, were they not supposed to fill in gaps? Not take up space from another castmember of the RW/RR/FM shows that can actually be used.

You guys act like the RW RR challenge casts are so god like at these games. More than half of them in the past would just bend and fold to the JEK alliance. They handed so many challenges to them on a silver platter. For example all the Ruins veterans went along with them with the bullying Wes movement and didn't complain until they got screwed over. Im all for AYTO and Bloodlines being on these shows. Maybe we can get some new Evelyns or Kennys out of these shows. People who aren't afraid to make actual moves on these shows.
I still don't understand why they shouldn't. It's MTV's The Challenge, not RW/RR The Challenge. Even if they take spots of others, they still should be allowed. People ***** about how AYTO are useless and don't bring anything, but that's all subjective. And anyways, MTV/BMP focuses on it's stars as oppose to new faces. And if you're annoyed at their social media presence, than that's a personal issue you can easily fix bu not following them... All and all, I think AYTO brings as much presense as other Real Worlders that are just as low key.
All in all, this complaing about them, doesn't seem to slow BMP/MTV down with bringing them to the show. Just take them as a case of perpetual Fresh Meaters that so happen to be on a love show before their Challenge debut, which is better, because they can come with some substance and back story now.

True, this board is full of the die hard fans who have watched for over a decade now so their opinion on the show should carry some weight. However, a lot of people here have this arrogance that BMP should be catering exclusively to the 1%. That won't make MTV or BMP money which is the whole point of The Challenge. To make money for the network and the production company (or bring enough ratings that it bleeds into other shows). Looking at the ratings, we got Rivals 2 and BOTE2 quickly because the first two made them money.
Be happy this show still exists. Be happy that people like Cohutta and Kelly Anne went from Challenge Purgatory to being back.

The first Fresh Meat cast had 7 people come back because they were actually interesting to watch and brought something to the table. The second Fresh Meat cl*** only had 4 decent people who were entertaining (Cara Maria, Laurel, Theresa, Brandon). The rest you could have plugged any other 20-something in and you would have gotten the same result. When Luke showed up on Cutthroat I sighed because he was boring on FM2 and didn't seem to care at all that he lost.
Basically, the real problem with the decline of the series has to do with the promotion. MTV has tons of hours to fill on the network (I mean, they don't even show music videos anymore so they need filler) and they never replay old seasons of The Challenge as part of their schedule when its not airing. Back in the late 90s, early 200s they would replay old seasons of The Real World, Road Rules, and The Challenge all the friggin time. If MTV did that with The Real World and Challenge going back to the Gauntlet 2 timeframe (back when the production values went up and there were still some old schoolers floating around) and they saw great feedback from it through Twitter and ratings, they might be more inclined to give some of the old school people a call to see what happens.
