Dario is actually being smart moving into the third spot where Cory was in the Bananas & Vince alliance. Not like Cory has his back since he is playing both sides.

Dario's whole logic is to make to a final where he thinks given the chance he can beat Bananas and Vince. Dario can literally carry Nicole in a final and she's good at puzzles. So there's a possibility.

it's not really the same, Tom knew that he was only getting thrown in because of Simone, that's why he didn't take it personally.
Cory and Dario are both idiots, plain and simple. Cory/Ashley are the strongest team of the outsiders and the weakest of their newfound trio, so banding together with outsiders to take out John and co. was their best bet.

The only reason Dario made that move is because he found out about Cory's position in the game. Cory didn't have to worry about anything from the Wes side of things and the Bananas side of things. Dario didn't have to worry about Wes side. He wants to take Cory out.
