I think in that case they needed a 3 way elimination between 3 people and their partners and not just hypothetically Paulie vs Kyle. I think in this case when it was just free for all, 1v1, they wouldve let Paulie do it. I think the 3 way elimination was done because they were behind schedule on filming or something too

As much as he hypes himself up, he’s tiny. 5’7”, 150 lbs (probably) tiny. If he would’ve gone against Ashley or a good number of these guys in something physical, he would’ve left the Killing Floor in a casket and it’s embarrassing that he has convinced himself otherwise.
Lastly, just stoppppp talking so much. You constantly act “bout that life” but then won’t even volunteer against an INJURED Kyle in the elimination you want. Just don’t talk about it unless you’re gonna do it. He’s scared, period. And it’s gonna be so satisfying seeing him get purged right before the final.

Paulie insists that he's the best competitor and everyone's scared of him, and it might even work if he actually acted on it.
