Not that I don't think it was fair but why exactly would the producers want to rig the elimination for Ninja over literally any other girl? They've invested so much more into the other girls to want to see them stay over her and they've had Laurel on speed dial every season - why would they want her to go out early?
Production would love for Cara and Laurel to be in the house together more than Cara having another number
Right? The biggest drama on the girls side was just cut short - that could not have been their plan. They would have sacrificed Ninja in a heartbeat to keep that rivalry in the house.

But like Ninja did actually beat Laurel to the top so if Ninja hasn't noticed the missing branch on Laurel's tree she would have gone home unfairly too. And I say this as someone who likes Laurel on the show and thinks Ninja is annoying af.
OOF Laurel on twitter saying production blew the horn after she hit the bell and told her she won. She didn't get a chance to double-check pegs like Natalie did because she was told she had won!

Ninja did reach the top first - if there had been a hole for her there, she would have won anyway.
But it was still stupid that Laurel had an extra spot or at least something that looked enough like it to make it look that.
It should have come down to both of them searching for their missed branch.

Both Ninja and Laurel missed branches, but on pure speed up the tree Ninja still eeked it out. Laurel was amazing though.

This season and viewers were the ones that ended up losing.
Imagine the amount of entertainment and fights Laurel would have bring for the rest of the season vs what a wallpaper like Ninja is going to bring.
