^^^drag Susie for the hypocritical trash she is.

The Susie hate is funny but ask yourself why Katie and V have the same stance...

Oh so now we are just using vile names about Susie and Sarah to attack them and cloud the fact they went on the record with what really happened.

Victim shaming?  Everything I said is true.  I even left out the part where she assaulted Veronica to be nice because V sorta deserved it.  I always find it funny the same people who freak out over victim shaming continually lie and embelish what did happen and throw around the terms assault and even rape.  Meant to inflame and slander of course.

BMP was constantly upping the anty that era.  Assaults and violence were becoming common.  Anyone who watched Tonya in those 4 episodes could see she should have never been put on the show.  They put her and the other cast in danger for the shIt show that came after.  Kenny and Evan obviously were idiots and should never have taken a photo standing over her with Wes's toothbrush.  But in that unnatural environment where you are basically in prison with 28 other young people and being fed hard liquour everynight you do shIt you probably wouldn't do outside of that environment.  Anyways, they paid the price for it but the revisionist history is a bit much to take.

Tonya was clearly not mentally well on that season and/or was dealing with some sort of addiction. Production should have done the humane thing, removed her and gotten her help instead they exploited her. She does not deserved to be attacked and blammed for her behaviors. Viacom, BMP, MTV all had the money and resources to get her the much needed help but instead relished in her struggles and used them for ratings.

um chile, anyway

He's such gutter trash the show has asked him back and feminists Sarah and Susie have confirmed he did nothing wrong.

What do you call the castmember who showed up to that challenge with such a low respect for herself and her castmates that she would routinely pass out drunk with her ****** exposed?  Or how about when she drunkenly climbed a sailboat which could have seriously injured herself.  Not sure if that was before or after she made out with a Thai prostitute.  Or how about when she tried to assault Evelyn for telling a joke.

Perhaps the gutter trash are the producers who put a castmember on the show who clearly shouldn't have been there.

I only called him gutter trash, never said why. But if the shoe ******* fits, then let me ******* sip on my wine. Thank you for showing yourself tho, idiot.

If anyone watches The Ruins first few episodes with Tonya and doesn't feel any kind of way that all of that was allowed then you're the problem. Obviously when I first watched The Ruins when it first debuted I wasn't aware of the bigger issues but now that I'm in my 30's and have battled addiction more than once, I fully understand the bigger picture and it was very difficult to see Tonya struggle those first few episodes. Production should have stepped in.

I'm almost sure Tonya was battling more than just alcoholism but that's not something we need to discuss here. I assume production tests everyone before they fly out.

For the record, I rewatched Ruins a few months ago and found those first few episodes to be borderline uncomfortable. No one should be pushed past their boundaries in the way Tonya was. It's essentially harassment & production didn't do anything, not good at all.

I always wonder what would've happened to this show and that entire narrative if Diem hadn't thrown that first elimination to Tonya. Things would be so much different. Just like if Abram hadn't asked to go home on the Island how much different things would be with Johnny.

I suppose it does us no good to wonder now, but it's weird thinking about what that different path would have looked like.

Well said Hauserman.

Thank you, Old Schooler. There's some lack of humanity in the way some people talk about Tonya here, maybe they do not understand addiction and all the struggles that come with it. I do, and I know there's so much more that goes on with someone than what we choose to allow others to see. I think of Robin's thread all the time and it's super sad, if you get it then you get it but if you don't then I don't think it's your place to talk about people with addiction problems.

I think or hope we all agree production shouldn't have cast Tonya. It was a huge mistake on their part and put Tonya I'm a vulnerable situation that she shouldn't have been in

For the most part we do, KVM. Production knew Tonya's state of mind and chose that it was okay to exploit it.

They absolutely did exploit her which is why, regardless if anything actually happened or not with Evan/Kenny, I'm glad she got the settlement

Regardless on where you stand, it's pretty gross that MTV exploited her. Which is why I have always think they're full of s**t and have zero respect for them when they act like how they did during the whole Dee situation. It gives them ratings and they could honestly care less.

Does anyone knows how are Tonya and Robin ?

Supposedly Tonya is doing really well but understandably keeps a low profile. Robin...no idea but I feel like being concerned about her Is justified

Does anyone knows how are Tonya and Robin ?

No idea about Tonya! V1man would know last time he update us she was doing great. As far as Robin based on recent stuff I have heard outside of social media speculation, I really hope she gets the help she needs.

Are you talking about her facebook post from months ago?

No, it's a sensitive subject that it's not my place to share.

MTV did exploit the shit out of Tonya and that wasn't right. But at the same time Tonya did say yes when they called her for the show....

exactly, I'm watching The Ruins right now and MTV did her exteremly wrong. At the same time if she knew she had an issue why say yes to this?

I agree that people have accountability.  We don't know Tonya's situation at that time. Its a shame those in her life weren't able (or didn't try) to convince her not to do the show.  Maybe she was deseperate for the money, maybe she didn't realize how bad the problem was, maybe she though a challenge was a better environment than whatever environment she was in (which is sad but possible).

I don't know what the situation was with her so I don't want to speculate. But when people aren't well they aren't always aware. Or maybe they "need" the money or are addicted to the fame. This is solely on productions shoulders and a lot of them allowed this. It was not ok. So happy to hear she is doing well and wish her nothing but happiness and healthiness.

Maybe she needed an escape from her reality.

Y'all bumping up this thread for what? Dx
