Latin America. They were naked in the hottub and Brian (RIP) talked about a rash. My mom told me I couldn't watch cause it was inappropriate and I was addicted to MTV ever since.
But counterpoint, if reality TV is manufactured... why not counter it with something raw?
I feel like RW fits because of that very thing. If we're editing shit down then the concept of "stop being polite and start getting real" becomes all the more relevant.
The issue is I don't see the effort being put in to do it. But, the idea is there, the drive isn't.

oh wow I missed most of road rules. I think I somewhat remember watching extreme in the background but definitely saw all of viewers revenge and how angel called kina a drag queen and how sad i was miss ivory never got her chance off the rv
It's not tho, the only way it would work is to market it as something completely different because 7 strangers living in a house isn't the ground breaking idea it was in the 90s.
Sadly I agree, Real World kinda got stale for me at the end. It didn't have the same authentic feel with all the twists. I think with a solid cast and good missions Road Rules could actually be good again. Maybe add a sabotage element where they have individual banks and can steal eachothers money.
attempting to recreate the vibe, impact, and cultural significance of something like the real world defeats the purpose of why it was so good in the first place. if you wanna create something like that again it can't be recycled from previous great works. something like that would have to come naturally like someone said, a lightning-in-a-bottle kind of thing.
Road rules is still super popular in India, I watched a season during covid on YouTube and it was pretty good, they has an elimination that was literally just kicking the shit out of your opponent. (The challenge should adopt)

This sounds like a knockoff version of surviving paradise which is good because surviving paradise was a good show but it sounds similar to me in certain ways.

Yeah its just like how jersey shore wouldnt be the same phenomenom had it debut today. It debuted at the right moment
even Jersey shore has ran its course but that cast ain't got nothing else going except Pauly who at least has a DJ job so they have nothing else to do but film and try to " recreate " moments
People get more famous on their own these days than some reboot of a failing show. They should reboot campy shows like next or room raiders tho lol
I would love NEXT to return! I said earlier today both of these shows returning could be a hit and go viral on TikTok. It was messy and fun.
The ones with the gay contestants are so cringe and stereotypical. I still find it funny but dont know how it would translate today. Seems like everyone these days get up in arms over everything.
the REAL AYTO. Not whatever that bs on paramount+ was.
I honest to god don't think anyone watched that I haven't seen any internet chatter about it AT ALL
I actually did and it was so boring. They cut out literally ALL the drama and the drama they did have, was weirdly edited. I can tell that cast was acting a fool, the editors just did them completely dirty. One guy on there got jumped at a matchup ceremony and they didn't show it at all.
As for Real World or Road Rules coming back, they should honestly just do it.
Look at Zeus, the people may not like it but the engagement will be there and the views will go up if they cast correctly and just put it out there. No weird edits, or anything like that.
A Real World type of show where its co-ed strangers living together could actually thrive in these current times they'd just have to change the plot. Like nobody can be racist on tv in 2024 but I do think they can still have real/raw people and make a good show. There really isnt any shows that involve men and women just living together.
RW is never going to be what it was because reality TV wasn't a thing when it debuted.
But, putting conflicting ideologies under a microscope to see what discussions come out of it can work. It doesn't need to be groundbreaking to still have a place. Even though I think it could be a good change of pace if done right/the stars align.

sounds like something paraflop would do I believe it
If they would ever recreate it then they need to go out and search for working-class people who live ordinary lives without ever having had an intention of making a career off of social media. that's where you get good personalities unlike all of these new gen challengers who play safe and are fake as **** to eachother because they know they need to pay the bills by being re-casted

2000s reality tv altogether was on another level and can never be recreated!

Might slide into Michaela's DMs to ask if she asked for an extended PTO so she can be on 40

This is the most unified Vevmo has ever been, nostalgia really brings peoeple together, huh?

Do y'all think they should be a fresh meat 3? (Wasn't WOTW technically that in a sense?)

No. They have enough untapped talent we dont need more.
And my hopes for All-Stars 4 just died
No it's not needed.
The Brits and BB people weren't needed on Vendettas either. RW and AYTO still had some juice left in them.
Speaking of vendettas victor from bb really flopped and was never seen again ****
I didn't think he had a terrible debut. I thought he'd become a regular.
