Haha I thought the same thing after I posted it that it deserved more credit than decent. I think I was just so annoyed to see Jozea. Simone just annoyed me, but I hated Amanda for a long time so I think Simone is someone who could have also eventually won me over too. I'd be open to seeing her again, especially after how she went out with that disgusting freak assaulting her.

When considering that you automatically cast the people on the likely list, this is good! Ashley, Devin, Josh, Kaycee, and Tori are AWFUL and need to go. I can do without Big T, Derrick, Horacio, Leroy, and Nia, but to different degrees. Derrick and Big T are just meh as casting choices (they're not bad), Leroy is likable but I don't like him, Nia isn't on every season so that's at least something going for her but she does nothing for me, and Horacio is sweet (and hot) but one of the most boring people ever cast for the show.

I have a theory about production trying to market Melinda as the new ashley since they don't want to cast her anymore.
I can tell you that theory is wrong lol. Melenda doesn't fill that archtype spot. They are just trying to fill spots for an era theme. Malinda is cute and young enough looking to fill a blonde girl spot, she's not a threat to Skye's Vacation Cult and will flop early without making moves, she's easy to work with and a yes woman. She's also boring without a backbone which is their favorite type of woman to cast. That's why she is being cast. She's no one's replacement she is a checkmark spot holder.
