I've never taken a straight man to gay bar. I usually go with 1 or 2 women and a gay guy friend. But sometimes have gone with a group of only straight women. It's nice to just dance, get drunk, and not be hit on. But I totally understand your point about intruding on a space and being aware you're not bringing any judgements.
