So everyone missed that sign except the surfers, the father/son, and the showgirls? I kinda like that.
Really disappointing show from Ethan and Jenna. I was really hoping they would do better.

It just sucks that the other teams really didn't like them because, "They've already won a million dollars, each..."

Me too! TV usually never works out like that for me.
This is what I really hate about this race. I mean how many signs are put in front of the racers faces that they arent supposed to read, because they arent in TAR colors. But this one was fatal. I realize its used for drama and to make things exciting but it really screws up the better racing teams. Andy/Tommy didnt deserve the 1st place finish. Ernie and Cindy deserved their spot in 1st, they raced better and read everything that was given to them as far as the rules are concerned.

I understand what you are saying, but at the same time - details are just as important as brute strength. Attention to detail cost good teams their run. While I can empathize with the departing squads, it is very clear why they lost and even though there was trickery involved, it fit within the context of the game.
This may be the worst edited episode of TAR I've seen. I agree with Andy Denhart -- chaotic.
Producer manipulation with the teams was equally obvious. If you don't understand why, then watch again the exchanges between Phil and the teams as they "arrive" at the pit stop. Someone from production had talked to some of the teams prior to their initial arrival. Foul. It interferes with the team's emotional state which can be critical to team performance when they are under the gun to backtrack to the orphanage with their packs while the clock ticks away. Why were none of the teams shocked to learn that they should have left all their money at the orphanage? As a consequence of the edit and production involvement, we really don't know the if the right two teams went home.
Expect Jenna Morasca to eventually have something specific to say about this.
