Is it like Real World where if you were invited to the casting call but didn't attend you could still be contacted?
in past years I believe yes but idk about this year, I know ppl who were contacted with videos and told to go to an open call, someone they really wanted and were on couldn't attend and they said if they were really interested they will work with them but they never heard back from them
explain how? There is the casting call, if you sent in a video they also want you to go to an open call first. Then you found out same day if you moved to next step which was a 45ish min interview asking you lots of questions

i have also heard that videos sent in like later (now) are only used if they need fill ins and they aren't actually going to be cast since they basically have their people somewhat by now. That is just what I heard though
like people 200 at mine but they have about 30 or so people that are on a special list and go right to the front. Someone I was talking to said they were just taken from the line. But the list is people who were contacted. Mine also only had a single casting director actually talking to people yes others were there doing other stuff but only 1 was interviewing groups
What sucks about BB Casting is that if you go to an open call, you get invited back the next day for an on camera interview. If you send in a tape you have to wait forever to hear back because they literally watch every single tape single the pervious season stopes casting. So it takes a long *** time. When I applied for BB16, the process went by so fast because I went to a casting call in Miami. I sent in a tape this year, and I'm still waiting.

Well I'm glad to know they watch their tapes because sometimes I feel like Real World doesn't or they only watch 30 seconds of it.Good luck to those of you in the process and hopefully they still consider me. They had to have liked something on my tape.
i think they do that for big brother as well. They know pretty early in the video if yours is worth watching they had lots of practice watching them over the years
I also no sometimes if you audition for survivor they put u on big brother and bid versa along with the amazing race. A few people auditioned for one and got cast for the other I know Frankie originally auditioned for survivor, an amazing race team (father/son) were asked how they felt about being on different shows because they thought one would be better for BB and the other survivor
I really hope the 30 player twist is true because it'd be so exciting watching 30 different interviews on cast reveal day. But I think it isn't true, seem like too much hassle.
30 is way too many people definitley for new characters, I think that rumor can only be true if its like 15 new players and 15 old players but even then they can do an All Star season with that many old HG's.
I think it would be a great twist. Imagine them all walking on stage then going STRAIGHT to the backyard to compete and they cant say a word to each other. the top 8 men and 8 women to place in the competion win a spot in the house. they could even mix returning players with newbies.
I think it is a good idea because it makes people work to get in the house. If it is allstar and newbies included in the comp you don't need to introduce the all stars and newbies they don't need to really introduce them tell they are in the house I mean why introduce them if they are going home in 2 hours

Exactly. My idea was to do some type of casting special in the first hour of the show.
Since the competition is not live then make sure the people who are for sure in the house get their edit and then fill everyone else in.Knowing CBS they probably are switching things as we speak because they love to surprise us.
True! They've been known to throw things in last minute. whatever the twist is, I just want something new and fresh. But also something that doesnt feel rigged.
They could have 36 people compete ( 18 all stars , 18 newbies) then have top 8 all stars go in and top 8 newbies (4 of each gender) if it was an endurance comp it would make things so much more interesting because your then holding on for you life in the game.
With that being said these are the past people I would be ok with seeing again, some I doubt would come on but who knows. Some people I would be interested how they would play the game a second time.

it has been mentioned many times by cbs casting people and production they never want a full all stars again, they like having a mix and let new people play especially since it is only on 1 time a year unlike survivor which is on 4 times a year so they can do more all star casts

i doubt it. But it would be a great twist. Remember Endurance used to do the Right To Stay challenge episode 1? So many crushed dreams..

Season 19: BB rejects aka those that didn't make it into the house for season 18 because they didn't win the first comp
