LMAO @ monkey on my back tag :laugh2:
did any-one notice Bach's video? What plays when you press play again after watching the video the first time? Was that some secret spoiler he put in there? :) Apparently its footage of the brooklyn cast, during a police altercation, or something along those lines..
and back on topic. The Las Vegas cast were whacked on E for most of the time,

I don't recall what thread it's in and I don't have the time to go look for it right now, but you could find it with a little digging.
V1 - in this challenge the cast does not have the ability to go ou clubbin and drinkin - so does that mean BMP is just outright furnishing the crew with alcohol on this challenge - perhaps in the air drops? If so, in this case - are the contracts drawn up a little differently to release BMP of any liability for any alcohol related accidents/incidents? Just out of curiousity what kind of alcohol does the cast have access to - hard stuff, beer, both? One last semi related question - the cast always has a good percentage of cigarette smokers amongst them. How did they survive on this challenge?

Then after the first few days (and due to a few incidents) liqour was taken out. For the remainder the cast was allowed as much beer or wine as they wanted. The whole cast was drunk the whole time pretty much, not a lot to eat, drinking on empty stomachs. Gotta kill the time somehow.

A couple of cast members would get up in the morning and scavenge for half empty beers cans/bottles. Nothing like a warm 12 hour old Red Stripe to go with your breakfast of yesterday's rice.
...perhaps in the air drops? If so, in this case - are the contracts drawn up a little differently to release BMP of any liability for any alcohol related accidents/incidents? ...
The airdrops were phony. The US Army should be embarrassed. The real crates were attached to black inflated rafts and then towed out into the surf by the production crew. It's well documented in the August edition of Bocas Del Toro's newspaper, The Boca Breeze. One of the ones that was actually dropped by the aircraft came ashore on the beach in front of a private residence. The owner helped the MTV crew pull it out of the surf and was surprised by how light it was. The crew told him it was only dropped so they could film it. Nothing fragile -- like eggs and glass -- survives an airdrop. Ask the US Air Force. Water is one of the most solid surfaces to hit with any heavy flat object.

the beer and wine wasn't rationed *that* heavily in the later weeks.
the beer and wine wasn't rationed *that* heavily in the later weeks.
True... especially as the on-camera drama waned. Actually, last night I learned that there was no problem getting anything into or around Panama. Security was virtually nonexistent with a possibly non-function metal detector and no bag screening at the airports. One cast member discovered a pocket knife on his/her person after arriving at the island, having forgotten to put it back in a bag when packing at the hotel in Ciudad de Panamá.

Nothing scarier than a raging alcoholic that hates your guts and has a knife, hehehe.
there was at least one "smokebreak" out in the Panamanian Jungle.
oooh maybe it was Dan and that was why Dave's wussy *** went home, LOL. Nothing scarier than a raging alcoholic that hates your guts and has a knife, hehehe.
The knife was merely exemplary of the ease at which one could smuggle anything into the set of The Island. It has no bearing at all on the taping or outcome of the show.

I wondered how a)fragile stuff survived the drop, and b)where the heck the black raft/floater things on the bottom came from. Plus, some of the air drops seemed REALLY far away from the shore, and they only ever showed castmembers really close to the beach.

The full story is here.. it is toward the bottom of the file The Bocas Breeze Newspaper: News and info about Bocas del Toro Panama. :: August / Agosto 2008 Volume 5 Issue 8
I'm not sure which I enjoyed more...the aliens, the Snickers bar, or the “drogas de Colombia!”
and then there's: Cohutta: Where can i find food? Local: Above your head and at the reef Cohutta: Do you have a snickers bar? I was hoping Cohutta would be somewhat intelligent. So when Abram was recounting the fruit falling from the sky in the lagoon was that a slight edit leaving out the local's suggestion that food could be found in the trees above the lagoon?
Do you know what kind of fruit it was??
No, I didn't ask. If the opportunity comes my way again, I'll try to remember to do that. I just assumed it is the fruit mentioned in the Bocas Breeze article.
Freeze frame almost any video image of Robin looking at the camera, and I'll bet you will say "she's stoned." She looks like she has more drugs in her than a CVS Pharmacy.
Wasn't a prerequisite of the San Diego season casting recreational reefer smoking? Yea Brad, you think I didn't get half of those "Half Baked" references?

Likely toothpaste or an ointment. Johnny has a que tip in his hand, at least that is what it looks like with Avid frame display on a 21" screen. Of course the color resolution sucks.
