Wait do Americans pronounce Vincent Van Gogh's name as "Van Go" instead of "Van Goth"
Why do the British put a U after the O in words? Just the way it is.....

The putting in Ty/Emily strategy was not a good one. They had far too many "ifs" in that situation to send Emily home. Not a very calcuated decision I didn't think, more just a draw out of a hat. If Ty gasses out than yes it would help them, but that only works if the girl can at least sort of hang with Emily, which Naomi could not in any matchup IMO. So even if Ty gassed out, Emily could still smoke Naomi so it would even out. Even if it was the X game that Leroy/Wes played, Leroy would have to beat Ty both times, and win the toss up coinflip because I am basically positive Emily would beat Naomi in that. So overall not a smart idea and not that well thought out. Also it runs the risk of a strong girl coming back after you. I am not sure Abe/Cara Maria are a strong team, they seem to have 0 teamwork, get mad at each other over nothing immediately, and Laurel herself said Cara can be a great competitor but only in the right situation. So with all her drama with Abe, that may not be the situation. But I will say bad idea or not, it's kind of nice to see Paula take a chance and she has def been less of a follower and more of a leader in last few challenges. I am a big fan of 2 out of the 3 elimination rounds so far. The first one was dumb I think. But I really want to see two strong teams go in the other two. Mark/CT pole wrestle/X thing would be awesome.
It was actually Sleeping Beauty they didn't know about. The question was about sleeping, so it would seem obvious right? Well, not to Leroy apparently. I'm going to assume we'll get the same amount of episodes there have been the past couple of seasons (10). There are 8 teams left. That's 5 more eliminated teams with 3 in the finals. I'm assuming they'll either give us 9 full episodes or drag one as a "To Be Continued" to make it 10. Not including the Reunion and the **** show.
The Sleeping Beauty question completely blew over my head, mostly because I don't know the origins of why she'd be sleeping or whatever, and also because the question made it seem like this was an actual person, not a Disney movie. Obviously it wasn't a real person, but when they say "Who did this and slept for 100 years" Sleeping Beauty doesn't come to my mind.
Just quickly on the Van Gogh pronunciation discussion, I swear no one besides the Dutch can say it right. On QI (the British tv show) they did a whole question about it, then had the host of the Dutch version of QI say it, and I'm sure my tongue can't make those sounds. The best one for people who are interested is the pronunciation of a dutch footballer called Dirk Kuyt. I can't even start to comprehend how to say that name properly. Anyway, moving onto the episode. I loved the challenge, and wish we got more ike that, just a riveting 10 minute. Lastly, I honestly couldn't work out the elimination and how it worked, I would've thought Naomi would just be able to run with there being no slack on the bungee. But I was pretty tired and not very smart.
I've heard British people pronounce it as "Van Goff", which is incorrect, but so is the way most Americans pronounce it, as "Van Go". Van Gogh was Dutch, so the correct pronunciation is something like "Ven" (or Von) "Goch" (rhymes with Loch).
Interesting... For a second I thought I had the wrong answer because we pronounce it "Van Gog" in France, so I thought "Who the **** is Vengo?". But then I realized he said Van Gogh.

Not to mention I think it's the worst Disney movie I've ever seen. Definitely get what you mean when you thought it was an actual person. I'm sure most people would make that mistake.

Don't get me wrong I do like athletic challenges but it's nice to have some that aren't. It kind of felt like the show used to years ago. The challenges have gotten overly athletic for me over the past few years. I miss the puzzles/trivia type challenges so this one was definitely a welcome change for me! The only thing that bugged me was that it was a water challenge...again. It seems like everything they do is above water anymore!

Watching this Ex-ual Tension thing now...Ty misspelled significant, again. This time he added an E at the end, and for some reason Cara Maria told him that was right after Leroy said it was wrong.

I feel like the challenges lately have been sorta athletic, but more dealing with how long someone can do this action before they hit the water. That doesn't sound too super athletic to me. I will agree that this challenge was really fun. I just wish not very challenge dealt with water. :(

But i think if the last 3 challenges had not been flooded with a bunch of water missions, I would be fine.

I don't mind the water challenges (whether they are in water or over it) I just personally would like less of them. I know they have water around them everywhere it's just for me I'd like it if they changed it up and did more on terra firma :) I just don't find it more exciting when it's over water. I also think that they get a little lazy with the water challenges because the excitement is in the fall/being suspended over water. I'd like to see some challenges that have more going on in them; i.e. puzzles, trivia etc. That can be done over water too of course.

You can't do too much on sand (maybe a challenge or two), but the water is just there and way easier to do the challenges.
Doing something over water isn't exactly a water challenge. Unless you are swimming, it isn't a water challenge. It is just easier to have someone do something over water rather than putting them in a harness.
You've also got to take into account that it's probably hard to find land they can either clear out or get some type of private location. I don't enjoy watching castmembers getting injured and sometimes going home for it like with Chet (Cutthroat). Katie's splash in the water looked terrible as well on Cutthroat, it's getting ridiculous. Shouldn't these lawyers step in and count these missions out so that they wouldnt have to constantly send home castmembers?
Absolutely put me in the anti water challenge camp. When I saw water challenge, I mean anything that involves a large body of water. For the last two years or so, I have been known amongst my challenge friends as the guy who is completely tired of "timed water challenges." I'm just flat out tired of any type of water challenge now. One thing, they always have some huge rig or set up to incorporate with these. I think a low budget ground challenge could be cheaper and more entertaining. I believe it was in one of the infernos where they had the challengers do a bunch of military drills in the sand. That was grueling but very entertaining to watch. It also must have cost next to nothing to do. There was another challenge where they were dropping fake money from a plane and people had to scramble and get as much cash as possible. Very simple but it was fun to watch. This is why I was loving cutthroat and was shocked when I heard about it's ratings. I don't remeber how many water involved challenges cutthroat had but the ones on land were impressive! The gas chamber was awesome. The obstacle course where everybody had to push through was fun. Riot act, provided another legendary moment with Derrick facing down 3 opponents. That's what I'm talking about. The problem I have with water challenges as well is that there is little direct competition. It's let this person go and see what time they get. That gets so old. When they have heats with multiple people like they did in the duel on that roller blade challenge or the duel II when they raced carts with those bobble heads, it was so much better. Lastly, I'm starting to think the water challenges are more dangerous than the physical ones. People are always getting jacked up and laid out in these ones suspended over huge bodies of water. Anessa just busted up her lip. People land face first and can hardly breathe. I'm not saying eliminate them completely but I think they should take a big back seat to more stuff on the ground and more puzzles/interesting challenges that aren't 70 percent based around the fear of falling.

It is just easier to have someone do something over water rather than putting them in a harness.
I consider it a water challenge though just for ease of explanation whether it's in the water or over it but that is a good point. I should add then though that I'd like to see more challenges that don't involve water or heights then. Just good old on the land challenges although I do like some of the heights challenges where they're harnessed up. Really for me it just comes down to variety. I'd like some more variety in the challenges and, in my opinion, more creativity.
You've also got to take into account that it's probably hard to find land they can either clear out or get some type of private location. It probably is easier to do but for me not as entertaining. More puzzles, trivia, scavenger hunt, building things, so on are what I like. More strategizing, even more athleticism and less of the water/heights challenges where the angle is usually fear of falling or getting hurt. The fear angle is just getting boring to me, whether it's easy for them to produce or not. I'm sure people like it though and it's not stopping me from watching the show (obviously!). I don't have a great memory for past challenges but the ones you mentioned are ones that I really liked.
This show is awful without my boy Wes.

If you mean that the recent challenges in this challenge haven't been super athletic I agree. I was saying that over the past few years it seems like they've gotten more and more physical/athletic and that I'd like to see less of that like with this trivia challenge (and really the honey challenge). I'd also like to see more strategy type challenges and less don't fall off into the water physical challenges. It's not that I don't like athletic/physical components what I really don't like is the lack of variety. I like the military drill type challenges (like Calinks) pointed out and I liked Riot Act quite a bit. Maybe it's the direct competition that's lacking for me because it's really not the athleticism/physicality but more so a lack of variety. Eh who knows :)

The mental aspect of last night's challenge was fantastic because we normally don't get to see the challengers use their mental abilities or lack there of. The producers as of late seem to like the more athletic and more strength challenges. I don't think they are playing towards the fear or heights are their angle, I just think they are trying to come up with stuff they've never done before. I personally think repeating challenges would be a good idea.

I also agree that repeating challenges would be a good idea. No need to try and reinvent the wheel.

Sure, there's normally one or two, but it's not really a big deal to the editors to even choose to show it. I can see where you're coming from when you say it's probably implied, but to the viewers that's not what they see, or at least I don't. I just see the comedy factor of people falling into water.
They're probably doing challenges that have to deal with much teamwork and mental challenges because let's not forget we have a same *** couple pair. How far would it be of thy did a challenge like riot act with Aneesa and Rachel going aganist men like Mark and CT. They have to have the challenges be more of a fair fit for the same *** couple . They'll probably bring out the tougher challenges if Aneesa and Rachel get eliminated .

And Rachel spelled auditorium with T instead of D lol ***. I would love to see these guys do a trivia quiz and real trivia questions not pop culture.

This is the first time in a while that I have watched the show on DVR and not skipped past the challenge. They need to do more fun challenges!
