The fights between the girls on cutthroat seem sooo pointless and dumb, hopefully they don't send Brandon again a 3rd time.
How is it smarter? How is brandon any different as a competitor than Chet and Tyler? My opinion Brandon is stronger player than them two... Its not smarter there all friends and there greedy. Brad knows what he is doing is unfair and wrong. Even Johnny doesnt understand. Never thought i would agree with johnny.
It's a smarter move for Brad to throw in Brandon over Chet/Tyler not because they are better competitors than Brandon, but because they would probably never throw Brad into the gulag as they see him as the team leader. He is just trying to keep control of the team and votes so it works out that he and Tori make it to the end. Brandon just got stuck on the wrong team unfortunately for him; he is gonna keep being the sacrificial lamb it looks like. Sure, Brandon is a great competitor and proving himself so far, but at this point Brad's biggest concern is just making it to the end. To do that, he needs to keep sending in Brandon. Besides, while Brandon is great, him not making it to the end while Chet and Tyler do (if it went down that way) wouldn't be the end of the world for the Red Team; they'd still have as much of a chance of winning the final mission.
He is playing the game very well to where he may not even have to go into the gulag, Brandon is not. The point is to make it to the end. You won't get to the end if you don't screw people over. Brandon needs to get over it.
He is not playing any game that I'm seeing, it just happens to be that he is a challenge ***** with a bad record but knows most of his teammates. Brandon would get thrown in no matter how well he tried to play the game. I will say though, I'm not mad at Brad for throwing in Brandon again... it happened to him on his first few challenges, now it's Brandon's turn and I'm sure Brandon will get his chance to shine soon in another challenge...
I do feel bad for Brandon, but I'm not mad at any of the red team for it. They're playing the game to keep themselves around. Are they playing fair? No. Are they playing well? In my opinion, yes. I admire Brandons determination, but truth is he is being outplayed by his team.
People like to recycle sayings and lines on these shows. Balls to the wall, balls out, chopping block, trim the fat... all lines used over and over and over and over... and over... and over...
Don't forget about people talking about giving it 110%. We got that one from JD last night. Brad has used that one a bunch over the years.
Brandon is getting Sarahed. On The Gauntlet, Sarah Greyson was sent in 5 times by Road Rules, not because she deserved it (although she wasn't great), but because after they had angered her by voting her in, each Road Ruler didn't want to **** off a second teammate by voting for them. It sucks too because he's really good - I'm not saying he's the best guy on their team, but he's definitely in the discussion. He was screwed by having Katelynn on FMII so it was tough to judge his abilities, but I'm sure he's stronger than Brad and smarter than Dunbar (and probably Brad too). Why do the Black Men always get thrown in early? 4 of the last 6 challenges have had a black guy in the first elimination, and Tyrie was 2nd out on Gauntlet 3. Just saying.

CastAStone you sound like Tyrie himself from Denver lol hes always ranting on Twitter when a new season airs. Anyways im disgusted and in the future of this season. Anytime I see someone on the Red Team go in other than Camila and Brandon hopefully they get beat and it will be that much sweeter for me as I sit and watch:D.
Brad and Tori are playing smart. They already have a natural alliance, and Brad is the leader of his team, so people will automatically follow him. He's playing strategic. Brandon is a good player and doesn't deserve to be thrown into the Gulag everytime, but unfortunately it seems like he will be. He's handling the situation very well. I think he understands the politics of the game. He definitely earned some points in my book. Also, Laurel is disgusting. I don't care if she is drunk off her ***, she has absolutely no right to verbally attack people. Who the **** is she? Her words are just hurtful. What she said on the preview offended me, and I am just watching it on T.V. I am happy Dan stood up for him. Laurel really needs a reality check!
Bull**** you don't know what you're doing Brad.

Brad knows what he is doing is unfair and wrong. Even Johnny doesnt understand. Never thought i would agree with johnny.

Was going to say Brad is just playing the game and finally looking out for himself. Cant hate him for that but hes kind of sunk to Johnny level:(. I use to hold him up high up there with people like Landon.Yeah it isn't rent a friend Brad and your there to win money but that shows your letting money get to you.
I find “business” Brad very unappealing I know the economy is slow but is he that desperate for cash that he has turned into another money hungry competitor just like his groomsman Evan. He should be happy with how he played the game thus far and walk away with his head held high since we know that you have to play dirty to win these things. I guess they really need the cash if they're willing to stoop that low.
Laurel, is like the girl version of Kenny, making of fun of people and such. The reason why Eric didn't say anything is because he doesn't care what Laurel says, he knows he is a good guy and that is all what matters in life. He is not going to be the one portrayed like an idiot on tv, no that will be Laurel. Also, love the fact that we got some lesbian action. But like someone said earlier wish it was with jenn and melinda. That would be epic!!!!

We should expect there to be blood shed and screwing over, even from people like Brad...
My gosh people, remember the show is called Cutthroat, not Pattycake. Why change the game plan now? As other posters have mentioned Landon won while still being the good guy of the challenge.
Derrick's podcast with Kenny. Funny that Kenny brings up people who claim to be D1 athletes, then sticks up for Laurel so steadfastly: Talent Network News | Pittsburgh Entertainment Information: MTV Cutthroat | Derrick Kosinski Podcast | Episode 2 Analysis w/Kenny Santucci
Love the titles

He must have an alliance with Dunbar (wouldn't surprise me), Tyler (huh?), and Chet (who was on his team on The Ruins)? Tori goes without saying. If he doesn't have one with all of them, why not vote in another one of those guys instead of Brandon?

With Dunbar comes Paula, and with Paula probably comes Tyler. That's 5 people, and now that Mandi is gone, they have a voting majority. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of them in a Gulag until Camila, Melinda, Brandon, and Chet are gone. It's unfortunate, but that's how it goes...
You know it really sucks for Brandon that he keeps getting thrown in...but can you really blame his team? Why would anyone vote themselves or a friend or someone who is a strategic asset when you can keep voting in the same guy to protect yourselves? If he wins: great, you're protected again in the future. If he loses: it's a strong competitor out of the way for the finals. I can see how it could backfire, but keeping one's own butt out of the Gulag is a top priority. It's a decent strategy that perhaps more teams could use, and because it's a group consensus thing, there's too many target for him to retaliate against in the future. Brad's line, "Yeah dude, that sucks, man," is just a sober reality of the situation.
I'm not blaming anyone for trying to stay out of a Gulag. That makes total sense. I'm just surprised that all of those guys but Brandon seem to be in an alliance. If Brandon is gone, it's going to hit the fan. They will have to turn on each other - unless they only made an agreement to protect each other until Brandon is gone. Actually I see Chet wasn't included in your breakdown, molds. I was going to ask why he was not protected from votes the last time, but it makes sense that some people voted for him if he was not to be a part of the big alliance. So I guess that makes him someone on the outside trying to get in. So if he may have noticed they would be voting for Mandi, he went along with it to try and get in with the alliance, huh? I didn't think about the Paula and Tyler connection to Dunbar bringing them all in to Brad. It's interesting that on the first sort of aftershow thing they have on MTV.com, Paula said she would not want to be on a team with married people again. Brad didn't have to act like he didn't know who he was voting for when Mandi asked. He just didn't need to tell it. I would have told her that it's a secret vote for a reason. I remember he tried to act like the guys weren't throwing the mission on G3 as well when Coral noticed something about it. He's not very convincing. I think stuff like that is why some people feel Brad is not the same. Brad is one of those cast members that people see as "real." I do think he has tried to work the system to win, which I can understand some, but I don't think his decisions are always the best (but then again, most who do try to work the game make a weird decision or two).

The thing is, Chet's not thinking ahead. Does he really think that if Brandon goes home, the next time they lose they are going to put Tyler or Dunbar or Brad in before him? Right...

Right...
But then again, what could he do? If he doesn't vote for Brandon, he'll likely get sent in instead.
I can't blame Brad too much. He's been trying to win a challenge for, like, a million years. This is probably going to be his last one, so I understand why he's willing to pull out all the stops to win. If you go back and watch his Gauntlet 2 aftershow, he talks about how badly he wants to win a challenge--and that was, what? Four years ago? Yeah, he usually plays differently--but he's also never won. And he's been on the wrong end of the alliance stick more than once. I'm sorry that Brandon has to suffer due to the vets' gameplay on the red team, but I have trouble blaming Brad for wanting to win at this point in his rw/rr challenge career.
But then again, what could he do? If he doesn't vote for Brandon, he'll likely get sent in instead.
What could he do? Only form a counter-alliance with Brandon, Camila, and Mandi to attempt to sway Melinda and the votes in their direction...

He already saw that some people voted for him for the first elimination. He seems to be trying to fit in. Oh well. If Brandon loses at some point, Chet will realize that he has to go in and win in order to try and make it to the end. That, or he will have to try to play to the conscious of someone who seems to feel bad. The red team seems to have the most interesting dynamics in voting so far. I don't blame Brad for wanting to win. I don't think he's a bad person or anything like that. But I do see what other people are saying about seeing a difference in Brad. I do want him to finally win one. I understand that they didn't know Brandon going in and didn't make him any promises. But I don't necessarily think things are going to go so well by the way they are doing things.
What could he do? Only form a counter-alliance with Brandon, Camila, and Mandi to attempt to sway Melinda and the votes in their direction...
I see that. But weren't Tori and Melinda BFF's on their last challenge together (I believe G3?). And aren't Melinda and Brad semi-close outside of challenges? We, as the audience, can see Melinda on the out-skirts of an alliance. But it seems like Melinda thinks she's just as involved in this alliance as anyone else. Given their past, I could see Melinda thinking she had better standing than Paula with Brad or Tori.
I think they just haven't shown Melinda enough. I would bet she's closest to Tori out of any of the other girls on their team. Although I would agree that she is at the bottom of the totem pole if even in that main alliance at all.
We, as the audience, can see Melinda on the out-skirts of an alliance. But it seems like Melinda thinks she's just as involved in this alliance as anyone else. Given their past, I could see Melinda thinking she had better standing than Paula with Brad or Tori.
Not sure about her and Tori, but I would guess they're closer than Tori and Paula. Agreed. I think no matter her decision, she'd be screwed. She'd probably be at the bottom of the social totem pole in each of those alliances. But I think she would have a much better chance of out performing Mandi and Camila and proving she is an asset than she does out performing Paula and Tori. At the end of the day, Melinda just needs to prove herself physically.
Why Chet didn't make a counter alliance, really boggles my mind. He says he wants to be "Cutthroat" and win money, so why not grab Melinda, Mandi, Camila, Brandon and himself? He should be smart enough on the totem poll to know he is in after Brandon. I don't know how a tie breaker would work, but if they voted in Paula, she could have very well lost. We know she chokes on one and one physical challenges and if she lost the numbers would shift.
In case anyone was interested the voting order for this episode just got posted on the Dailies site about an hour ago... Also, Chet sounds ridiculous, as does Sarah, and *shocking* Laurel
My thoughts: 1. I feel bad for Brandon for getting sent in again, but in a way, it's his own fault. The rookies on the red team were all basically just sitting around, thinking that NOONE was plotting, and that everyone would vote based off mission performance. They(Mandi,Chet,Brandon and Camila) could've gotten together and tried to at least sway someone from the core 6(Melinda maybe?) to their side. It would've been a long shot, but it would have been better than doing nothing. Now that they know what's up, its too late. They just lost Mandi, which means they wouldn't have the numbers even if they tried. So basically whoever Paula/Tori wants to go in(because you know they are controlling Brad, Tyler and Dunbar), will go in. 2. After watching the preview for next week, I am in complete disgust. Laurel is really a nasty human being, drunk or not. I know that she feels bitter still because of the way the FM girls treated her last season, but why not gang up on Theresa too? I think she just knows Mandi is an easy target, and noone on the red team really likes Mandi anyway, so Laurel didn't have to worry about anyone sticking up for her. 3. I wish they would've shown at least SOME of the drama that they showed in the dailies, but oh well......
Finally saw the episode, poor Brandon but I like if he wins this Challenge, then next time around he's gonna be one feared dude. I love Cara Maria. Brad has changed this game, and while some may not like it, its about time he got dirty him being nice all the time screwed him in the end.
