Hahaha Brain Buddies it is!
Aneesa claimed on twitter that editing made it look like she was making a case for Laurel not putting her in, when in reality she was just asking why they aren't friends anymore, but I find it hard to believe lol.
Wow, that's such ****. No one could believe that. Aneesa was trying to save her own butt and doing a horrible job at it. I really respected the fact that Laurel laughed in her face and told her the truth instead of just nodding like a backstabbing puppet.
What's funny though is Laurel then went and pulled an Anessa with Johnny Bananas. When has Laurel ever been the congratulations type especially to the guy who just sent her boyfriend home.
I took it as her trying to let people know she wasn't going to be a sore loser about it? But I think it did come across as her trying to save her own ***.
It was definitely cringeworthy though, how Johnny wouldn't even look at her when she came into the room and she awkwardly tried to shake his hand. Ugh.

That actually made me lose respect for her... Like, have some compassion for other people. Aneesa may not be your favorite person, but the way Laurel handled it was just immature. It looked like she was being some sort of mean girl in high school. You can just politely tell Aneesa instead of laughing in her face and shooting her down. I really, REALLY want to like Laurel every single Challenge she does, but it's her attitude and actions like that which simply prevent me from doing so.
She clearly has had interactions with Aneesa that have led her to not respect Aneesa. Would I have handled it the same way? No, probably not so flippantly. But at least Laurel had the guts to show her true feelings instead of hiding and politic-ing like so many people do. And she's able to do that because she can back it up with being a strong physical competitor.
I don't think she was being immature or cruel or anything of that nature. They were alone; she wasn't showboating. She just said how she felt. How can anyone look down on that? I'd rather someone look me in the eyes and tell me how they felt than to smile at me and think horrible thoughts about me.

I do respect that she said how she felt, but she went about it in such a rude and abrupt way. That's what rubbed me the wrong way about it.
You can't tell someone, "I don't really like you, and I want you to go home" without being perceived as rude or harsh, unless you lie and attempt to candycoat it. Aneesa was groveling. It was uncomfortable. Everyone seemed to be drinking, which also strips away some inhibitory layers. I was glad that Laurel handled it the way she did. Respect has to be earned, not begged for.
To me, the laughing during Aneesa's speech was Laurel laughing with Aneesa? Like Aneesa obviously aimed to make her laugh with the "I'll throw her over my shoulder and be like ok which way?" thing. I don't think she was laughing AT her per say.
I don't think anything went into that conversation besides Laurel aiming to cut through any bull****. It didn't seem like she was being intentionally rude about it to me, but maybe I'm wrong.
Aneesa was clearly trying to talk to Laurel to not get voted in but at the same time I think she was like confused why they weren't friends. They never had issues before and Aneesa probably thought since Laurel and her were both vets that they would be cool and not go after each other until later on. I think Aneesa was trying to fix things as well so it was sincere. Laurel just wasn't having it but I respect her honesty.
They did have issues before. In rivals Laurel masterminded a plan to vote her in the first elimination. Every season they are together Laurel waste to send in Aneesa.
My only issue with Laurel is that she can't own the fact that she wants Aneesa & Jonna out because they pose different threats to her. Just like she would love to see Cara Maria, Camila, Nany and Theresa go home before the final as well. Laurel knows exactly what she's doing. I'd just have more respect for her if she'd own what she's doing instead of the "I don't care who comes back". Now, when Aneesa went H2H with Jonna she truly didn't care because either way the #1 or #2 target on her list were going home. Well, Camila may have actually been #1...so #2 or #3

I mean, Laurel only stated that she didn't care the one time when Jonna and Emily were in the elimination. Otherwise, she obviously cares or she wouldn't be personally trying to send Aneesa and Theresa home.

Laurel acts as though she doesn't care about any outcome. JMO
And she absolutely cared who went home between Jonna/Emilee.
She's not really going after Theresa IMO. Theresa was the only person she could sell to Devyn. People keep acting like Theresa's "non-vote" mattered. It hasn't at all aside it made Devyn stupid.

Which is why Devyn hates her now basically.
And Theresa talked **** about her in the beginning of the episode. Its really petty though but I know will be sooooo blown out of proportion on the reunion.
Exactly, though! Her accent just doesn't fit. Drives me nuts. Then again, if she didn't have that accent, she'd probably lose some of her charm.
It's funny that you mention her accent, I was just reading something on her Twitter that she pronounces a lot of her words a certain way because her mom is a speech pathologist so she was taught to fully pronounce words.
Am I the only one who never noticed her accent
Probably not but I don't think it is an accent as much as just the way she speaks. She actually speaks English the way it should be spoken...well most of the time anyway
Yeah, I never thought Laurel had an accent until I read this thread.
I honestly never did either, I thought she was very neutral-toned when speaking.
I don't know if it's the fact she's so much better then everyone, or the fact she looks hot this season but I come to love Laurel, before I didn't really like her
I'm not talking about her pronunciation, just her kind of nasally "ah" sounds in words. People from Michigan and other places "up north" of TN sound that way to me. I wouldn't expect everyone to hear it. Just people who aren't used to it. :P

That kind of reminds me of how sometimes American's think Canadian's pronounce their words differently, and vica versa.
Does anyone else think that Laurel looks kinda Manish this season?
I think she is pretty but her ****** hair really bothers me for some reason....
For some reason, I don't think that's hair above her lip. She's constantly rubbing/wiping/licking that area when they show her so I think the skin above her lip is a little darker from that. It used to happen to my sister before she used dark spot remover. Who knows though lol. I think she still looks pretty.
Yeah, I never thought Laurel had an accent until I read this thread.
LOL. She pronounces Aneesa much different than everyone else. AHNEESAH! I love Laurel though.
